Pabu looks like he said, "Did you see me out there, Dad? Did you see me with the other kids? I'm a big boy NOW!" He is just SO cute!!!
I had no clue there were so many types of cockatoos. this one is probably my favorite. his lil Mohawk is so pretty.
Watching Pabu doing his laps with a squadron of friendly wild Galahs is so awesome :D
I’m so happy to see that Pabu gets to spend time outside doing free flying. He looks so joyful to get to visit the wild birds. ☺️
Pabu looks like he is smiling how cute is that
Pabu is so silly and cute!

NOW THAT IS AN AWESOME DAY OUT WITH NEW FRIENDS!
You could tell.. how proud of himself..he was!!
🕊💜
“Pabu is with the OTHERS” I am so happy for him!
These are the cutest most precious creatures on Earth. If I can't offer them a life where they can fly and play freely, living their lives to the fullest potential, I'd rather just content myself with watching videos like these. Thank you for sharing!
I have the joy of leading people on parrot tours to Australia. Spotting wild Major Mitchells can be challenging and is a real treat. I had no idea that a Majors can be so bonded to its owner that it can free fly with wild cockatoos and come back. Amazing stuff. I got a kick out of the wild Galahs staring at the tamed parrots wondering what on earth was going on. Just a delightful video. I have been watching so many of these and they are just so enriching and wonderful to watch! Having noted the calls of Majors in Victoria, QLD, and NSW I find Pabus voice pretty amazing. He actually sounds nothing like any Majors I have ever heard. Kind of more like a macaw than anything. Thanks so much for sharing these wonderful vids with us!
Love Pabu!! There's something special about this bird❤❤❤❤
yea
Both are beautiful birds. They look so happy!

Love the avatar names 😭😭😭❤️
Fantastic!
Excellent!!
love it!!
Are those long-billed Corellas? Watching your channel has sparked an interest in wild parrots. I’ve been birdwatching for almost 25 years but living in northern Canada, we rarely see parrots outside of a pet shop. Love your channel and your birds. You should do a Korra Cam video again.
yes they are, only the short billed corellas are native here as long billed are muuuuch further inland and south however the story goes that a local couple went through a divorce many years back and the wife let all of the husbands aviary birds go. The long billed corellas then paired up with the short billed so now we have hybrids and long billed in this local area lol
that's quite the flock
wow! I admire your guts for making this video.I am the proud owner of a major mitchells cockatoo. There's no way I could do this.that's really cool though.
they are no different to any other flighted parrot, the science is still the same :)
I've found the mm's seem to be far easier to train then macaws :) www.libertywings.com has the science based free flight course if you were interested :)
wow, so cool.
I have to get one!!
How does your parrot fly in the open air without escaping?😅 I love your parrot 💋❤️🌺🦜

Pab pab you happy
How long did it take for you to trust your bird to take flight, and come back to you?
Now I'm encouraged to try free flight for my Twitter and Wifi!
www.adventuresofroku.com/Educational.php will help :)
You want to free fly your twitter account? I hope it comes back.
It's a long long way to Ba Sing Se....
How do these wild birds survive ? then again, I guess they all do.lol. Just like here in the USA...except we don't have Cockatoos, or Macays, etc..flying about..
ARJ J they are native here so have the food sources, behaviour and knowledge on how to survive and thrive.
Just like native birds to your area survive and thrive :)
Yes, so true, I just see people with Cockatoos on RUclips, did not realize they are just out in nature. Kind of sad, for they can talk and do understand behaviors..I enjoy your videos.
Terrific parrot...How can he free-flying without escaping his owner?
I would love .y boy to do that bur no idea how to train him to that level he's only going 4 years old soon
😍😍😍❤
Naw a major mittchall and a galah
Question:How many birds do you have?
x3 :)
Arent you scared pabu is going to run off with his new friends?
Zohar Cohavy it's not a natural behaviour to do that. The relationships are not there, not quite how it works lol
Adventures of Roku when a reply gets more likes than a comment
Adventures of Roku I have a hand reared galah ...he's about 4 years old , he sleeps on my bed head ....he's inside my house every day ,all day , I never lock him in his cage ... do you think he would fly away if i took him to the park to mix with wild galahs ?
I would like to contact Roku please
Are they all named after avatar/Korra characters? Roku is the fire avatar before aang and pabu is bolins fire ferret in ledgend of Korra
I cant recall ever seeing a cockatiel in any of your free flight videos. Do they not take well to the training, or just none of your group has one?
any bird that can fly can be free flight trained however the question shouldn't be can they but should they. Once you understand the natural behaviours and workings of each species of parrots you can see which species are suited for outdoors (due to replicating the protective factors of that species) and which are best suited indoors.
Remember if a species of parrot can meet all its physical and mental needs within the safety of indoors then what reason other then your own desire is there to take them outdoors and put them at risk if its not for their benefit.
Some species of parrots rely solely on numbers in a flock for survival, this is just one factor and there are many others, people who push free flight without the right knowledge base seem to lose their birds or have negative outcome, and its never fair on the bird.
www.libertywings.com has the science based training course and info if you wanted to look into it further :)
How did you train him to do this?
the links are in video description and pinned post :)
I always wanted a Major Mitchell Cockatoo.But I don't get😔😔😔
Will you please upload a video on major Mitchell's cockatoo health how to take care of it....it's one man bird or it likes other people also...will it be good as pet...will you please upload a video on this stuff..please bro

How do you get him to come back
www.adventuresofroku.com/Educational.php has the detailed info and direction on where to go to start :)

omg i want one
Cuties
It's probably a stupid question by why do cockatoos pop their crests
theres quite a few reasons but to sum it up it's to show expression/excitement :)
Specifically, members of the cockatoo family (which includes cockatiels, although they are of a separate genus to cockatoos and not immediately related) often lift their crests when they’re surprised, confused, stunned or scared of oncoming danger; however, they’ll also lift it when they’re psyched or excited (you’ll often see pet cockatoos lift their crests when they dance). However, I’ve also seen
cockatoos lift their crests when threatening each other (bickering over food, for example), and when calling loudly for other birds. Those probably both fit under the “wary/surprised” category though.
Why doesn't he fly away with the flock? Are his flying wings clipped abit so he can't fly greater distances?
no not at all, I'm not for wing clipping, if the wings were to be clipped its a high chance of a predator taking them due to being weak and vulnerable and this is exactly what predators look for in their prey.
They have been specifically free flight trained to be outdoors :)
"How to Train you Parrot to Free Fly" is a video I have talking about how to get started and what not to do if you wanted to know more :)
when your sick of budgies an cockateils,.... get a galah
Australian pronounciation of Pabu : Pabew
I missed my galah so much. She died because of an evil hearted person.
حبيبى هالو

*KNOCK ON WOOD,* but aren't you worried about r*ptors? I think I would be constantly so anxious about them that my heart couldn't stand it. *KNOCK ON WOOD*
Nonetheless, an absolutely thrilling video; I have to say that I got the biggest kick out of seeing all those guys wandering about at liberty in the grass-just about the most delightful scene I've ever, um, seen.
I've seen the corellas at a local bush park fly up and encircle a circling sea eagle and the flock fly tighter and tighter circles around it in the one direction until it ran out of space and flapping power and had to drop below them to get enough space for regaining flapping power, before it crashed, to zoom off back toward the sea. The whole flock screeching even louder as they chased after it for a while before returning. The sea eagle was probably actually circling over the park for a wild duck dinner off of the lake.
The funny thing was that it was actually a single crow that spotted the sea eagle and flew directly straight up toward it yelling which alerted the correllas. The crow stayed circling with the flock, chasing with and returning with the flock to the park.
Aren't people who free flight their perrots worried that they would fly away and never return?
Blue_Lugia these are never random decisions to go out flying, there's actually a science based course that we have completed to do this safely :) www.libertywings.com has the training and info :)
Yeah I guess they have to starve them first so they come back to their food source.
His style of flight is visibly different to the wild birds, a little erratic and florid, probably through lack of exercise and regular flight.
Always wanted a parrot i have the time and money to care for it properly, however, i have a fear of their beaks as people said their bites are very painful, this is probably the only thing witholding me from owning one and its very annoying.
There autally gallars not cockatoo
a Galah is a type of cockatoo :)
just like a major Mitchell is a cockatoo, a corella is a cockatoo, a goffins is a cockatoo, a sulphur is a cockatoo, a umbrella is a cockatoo..... and the list goes on haha
Thanks so much for this, I'm considering doing this at some point after having a little coaching already with @reglocal.
Your so right, there is nothing out there to give you information on these advanced courses so nice to see this review 😊
