    Samsungs coils are a semicircular or horseshoe sort of design, so that you can’t get to the part that is toward the front of the fridge with a vacuum hose. Cleaned mine today and discovered that. It’s an insanely stupid design; to get it fully cleaned out you’d have to blow it out, and not many are going to do that inside the house. On top of the freezing up of the evaporator on the inside back of the fridge, I wish I’d never heard of Samsung refrigerators.

      Absolutely pieces of trash. After many of the drawers and baskets breaking, the ice maker being completely useless (unless I want to chip out three inches of ice every week), irregular temperature, frequently randomly dying and then working again, and the middle drawer handle literally FALLING OFF IN MY HAND- I will hate Samsung forever bc this fridge cost a lot and is sooooo bad.

    Thank you! I'll be doing this as soon as possible! I also have a black stainless Samsung refrigerator.
    I still have to clean my hot water boiler before that will be needed! A lot of chores to be done being a homeowner!
    Again thank you for showing this! Greatly appreciated!
    Be safe!

    It would be a good addition to the procedure to clean the duckbill valves in the drain tubes well the back panel was off to clean the coils. Those tubes are very easy to remove and having them out of the way would make it much easier to clean the coils.

    How often do you clean the coils? Once a year?
    Also, it seems unnecessary to reattach the back panel if you clean it often since the refrigerator’s back is against the wall and it doesn’t make any difference. Do you think?

    • @diycollaborative
      @diycollaborative  5 месяцев назад

      Deep cleaning once a year. Pull out from the wall and clean everything. More frequently if needed. We have several indoor dogs, so more often is needed.
      The back cover should be reinstalled as it’s designed to direct airflow directly over the condenser coils. Without the back cover, the unit could overheat.
      Hope this helps…
      😎

    • @warrenchu6319
      @warrenchu6319 5 месяцев назад +1

      Removing the back panel would only improve air circulation.
      Also, moving the refrigerator out to the backyard doesn’t seem practical for regular cleaning.
      So just cleaning out most of the dust and not let it build up should be enough.

    • @diycollaborative
      @diycollaborative  Год назад

      Understandable and normally you don’t have to take it out. Just use a vacuum and brush if you have one.
      For this video, it was just convenient to do it that way. It had been in a kitchen that was being remodeled is why it was so dirty.

    It’s got casters locked.
    If only we all could just start with the fridge in an open space!

    • @diycollaborative
      @diycollaborative  10 месяцев назад

      Agree, it would nice.
      Many have leveling posts that may be screwed down once it’s in place to level it with. If so, those would need to be screwed up, which should allow it to roll. Or there may be some sort of locks that need to be released that allow it to roll. Some don’t have casters or may only have one set in the back.

    • @diycollaborative
      @diycollaborative  2 года назад +1

      So there may be a small drain pan to catch water from when the freezer goes into defrost mode which typically happens once a day. If there’s excessive water, you may have another issue. Cleaning the coils should help regardless.

    We just moved into a new place and the Samsung Fridge wouldn't cool at all and there was a lot of ice showing through the holes on the inside. After cleaning out the coils and letting the fridge thaw for 2 full days out on the balcony in 80+ degree weather we're good to go. These Samsung fridges are just a poor design as our garage fridge is 12 years old and has never been cleaned and has always worked fine. It's a Frigidaire.
