I have been trying to learn how to do this and have watch many, many, many video's and you made it so easy. You have a clear distinct voice and your words are pronounced extremely well. You didn't go to fast and lose me or to slow and bore me. I can not thank you enough. Awesome video!!
I have watched so many tutorials trying to learn how to make my pngs into svgs and you are the first person to make sense. Thank you do much for sharing your knowledge!
This is good information to have here on RUclips. Thank you for uploading it. I do have one additional point that I think may help some people. After breaking apart the path, at the part where the image turns completely black, you can then choose to give all of those new individual pieces a "stroke" color, let's say, for example, a light green color, a light blue color, or maybe a light pink, and that will help you to see each of the individual pieces while you are going through the process of choosing solid colors for each of them. At the end of that process, you can then select all of the individual pieces again, and then remove the stroke color from all of them once again. To apply a stroke color to an object, just hold down Shift while you click on a color in the color palette area. I hope this information can help someone out a little bit. :)
@@chrisnewfie Hi there. :) I've never created a video or uploaded anything to RUclips before, so I'm not sure if I can help out any more than with what I've already offered. There are other videos on RUclips, however, that can explain the concept of "stroke" within Inkscape. I wish you the best with your project! :)
This helped me so much. I tried so many different ways and I just couldn’t get it the way I wanted. I watched your video and it saved me so much time and turned out great. Thank you so much.
Oh my goodness..... thank you. I just got a maker for Christmas and was planning on downloading inkscape this weekend, but was feeling very intimidated. Your video was just what I needed. Thank you so very much!
Your video was awesome. But what if image has scatter? What is the best way to clean it up? Many of the files I get from Google or coloring books are not clear like this one... Thanks!
Do you know if this Will these be one picture in cricut design space or will it be in layers? And if it’s in one piece is there a way you could make it to be layers?
Hello, when I trace and then select path and break apart I can see the squares with dots. When I click off and then click on an area within the image it's not doing it. The image becomes black I click on a colour and it's filling the whole shape with the colour. Please can you help thanks
Hi Yessie. In response to your question, that might mean that the original image is not "bounded," which is a term that means that it and/or some part of it is not completely surrounded by a dark color, like the color black. The method described in this video should work for most images of the type that is shown, though.

I’m new to this and have not a chance to try it yet but would love to follow along with the stroke process, can you do a short clip on how to do it.

Thank you for your very concise and simple explanation! You're a great teacher!
This is such a great, clear explanation and demo. Truly a great job.
Thank you for taking the time to do this video. You are a great teacher. This was so easy for me to learn.

OMG!! This helped so much explaining how to do this for an image someone asked me to work on.
Thank you a million times!! I made my first SVG!!

thank you for this video, very well done
Thank goodness I found your video.

Thank you this was very helpful, I also want to know what happens if there is no line separation and the color colors more than one section?
Im sorry, Im just seeing your question. The images you're describing are called RASTER and they are much more challenging to trace.
Do you know if this Will these be one picture in cricut design space or will it be in layers? And if it’s in one piece is there a way you could make it to be layers?

hi thanks for the video but after i make the beak it doesnt let me do the individual colors
Does this process work with a transparent svg file as well? Thanks
Im sorry, Im just seeing your question. This helps to show how to create an svg file. It does work on PNG images (with a transparent background)
does that work in 2020?
Yes, it sure does
And if it don't turn black?
