  • We discussed different storage options. My knives are precious to me. They are expensive tools and they are well-made. I don't want anything to happen to them and I don't want anyone to get hurt. We showcase many different options for how you may display or tuck away in store safely these amazing tools. We also have a surprise collaboration. My friend to the north, Franki Alo. He pops in to give us a look at what he does to showcase his knife collection. We've included some links below. This channel and this movie are not sponsored. Great video, lots of options for people out there! I appreciate the collab, was fun to see two people talk about their knife storage solutions. Also fun fact, we have that same Victorinox knife you have but in orange and use it for absolutely everything. Feel like everyone has one of those in their kit. ALSO, that 'piece' of wood in your drawer holding the handle of those knives, that piece of wood is gorgeous, maybe a future handle?

      So.... I don't actually have a Victorinox nice. I'll have to figure out which one you were talking about. And yes that was a handle that was being made that we substituted in the video

    Great video. Only other thing I might have showed was a knife roll but I dont know how popular they are outside a commercial kitchen. I keep most of mine in a roll, one because of kids and two it's been beat into me haha.

      I wanted to but; I learned a long time ago that you should not store them in the role. You should travel with them but you technically should not store them. I'm not saying it's wrong but it's not the best practice. Everyone watching this is not a knife and hard. I'm going to do a special feature on the knife roll itself!

    Very nice video!! A collab with Franco is always a win!!
    I'm at the point where I'm thinking of the best way to organize my knives. I have very little counter space and no space for a wall mount magnetic knife holder. But I have 40cm below my cabinet. So I ordered a Piotr the Bear leather and oak knife stand to put my 3-4 most used knife, and the rest will be in my drawer. The problem is, with this storage solution, that some of the knives that I have are not my most used, but I'd like them to be on display, because they are just a beauty... So 'ill be doing a bit of playing around to find what fit best in my kitchen for my end goal.
    Cheers guys!!

      You and I are in the exact same situation. I have a 300 mm and it's in the closet because it doesn't fit in a drawer. We plan on putting them on display with the wall rack. I have to buy many of them. They're not cheap. I'm looking for the exact same solution you are. I use all of mine.

    I guess I shouldn't have watched the video.. now I feel like a knife addict 😄🔪🔪🔪
    That was a nice start to a collection. Kitchen cutlery and cookware can easily take over. Maybe I need to "cut back" my collection. 😁🤷‍♂️

      It's hard to cut back. I can't believe I might sell some of them to make some money for more of them. Vicious cycle!

    Naja, wenn die Messerschlitze vertikal liegen, steckt man sein Messer halt mit dem Rücken nach unten hinein.

    Also some handles needs to stay away from the sun as uv makes it age faster, so don't have it in sun exposed walls in the kitchen

    you have a great knife collection , any chance of convincing your wife to let you display your knives on the walls of your home. that way you can see them every morning when you go to the kitchen

    • @nadm
      @nadm  2 года назад

      So, we did have a big plan to display them on the wall in the dining room. That plan is not necessarily gone away. There is a lot of magnetic strips to purchase and they're not cheap. But yes you are correct
