That’s true. Dude I was cracking up over the rock face. I had to idea I was doing it when I was playing. That boogie was so damn loud it scared the hell out of me. But it didn’t project quite like the plexi. It was intimidating the way that thing was hissing. I was prepared to die. Lol. 😂🤟🏻
@@greedypoet my understanding is a 100 watt tube amp is twice the perceivable volume of a 20 watt tube amp. Rather that's true or not, I don't really know. I've never tested that theory and don't know how you could prove it, by ear. All I know is I had a 40 watt Blackstar tube amp and it did not move near as much air as my Friedman BE-50DLX. That was clearly observable.

The first sign was a parting of the clouds followed by an eerie silence and then all the birds fell out of the sky and the church bell starting to resonate leaving villagers agog in anticipation of the second coming. \m/ . The Champ sounds sooooo good, I never really go down the Fender road but that sound was a peach ... lol...it's unbelievable that the stack can project all that way! Road works and pneumatic machinery don't carry sound that far....it was a good job you had The Skipper at the helm, at some point the Feds will be round to investigate.
I’m not gonna lie man… I was a bit nervous and anxious all at the same time when this amp hissed the way it did when I cranked it all the way up. In person it moved more air than the plexi but the plexi barks and cuts better (scientifically proven). Next test is the Friedman BE100. With the Skipper of course.
Awesome vid for science , I did this too a few years ago with my EVH 5150 EL 34 amp with a full stack , and had my neighbor who is also a bass player go 1/2 mile away around our loop , he wanted to see how loud it was . So I had to do what every respectable scientist does and Turn it Up !!! I think I played hot for teacher , it was awesome he heard every note I played as well as all my neighbors a mile away !!! Great stuff

All of a sudden to both men's surprise!.. the amplifier blows up like a bomb!. (Taking the whole back porch off into pieces.).. As both men go flying up in the sky there pants have been torn off .!!! as they still have there guitars in there hands. On the other side of the property the neighbors see two naked men go splashing in their pool.!! Unfortunately by accident the neck of one of the guitars makes its way up one of the man's arcse ! "Oh Ouch ! Take the handle out of my.....Oh ouch what the heck dude"!!!!
Made me laugh...a full stack compared to a small amp? I've set my full 5150 stack up on a loud loop riff...and walked outside in my neighborhood at 11 o clock to make sure it wasn't too loud. The things we do....👍

Interesting note, the second guitarist in my band gigged with a Fender Champ. We miked it up an ran it through the PA. Sounded awesome especially on Iron Maiden tunes for some odd reason.

I turned my DC-5 combo's master volume up to 5 on the dirty channel once in my apartment "for science". I had the manager knocking at my door in under 60 seconds, he said 3 people had called with noise complaints. I explained it by saying I was testing something (how long I could get away with it!). It now lives hooked up to a Tone King Iron Man II attenuator, even though I live in a house. Even my 5 watt Valve Junior goes through the Iron Man now, and my ears are still functional. I have enough spare tubes to fry for a while.
“Testing something”. Classic!!! The DC-5 is crazy loud man. Great story. I did something similar in my dorm at college a long time ago. Had to tell the resident RA something similar. 😂
@@Ranch5150SkinWalker All you need is a RCA to 1/4 converter. Champ is 3.6 ohm, will run any guitar speaker ever. You'd be surprised how much more sound a Champ makes with the right speaker box
Man I had one of those LTD 602 hammets I love that guitar it was heavy and would sustain for days and the guy I got it off of had a original Floyd german on it and original german nut instead of the junk they put on and had a block in springs put on and it was just great and I had to sell it split up with my ex and I had to have a place to live you know what I mean I'm trying to come up with some cash or get me something that'll stay in tune but we have some more interesting guitars and amps and ideas and I I want to get back into practice and get me a little practice gone though cuz I live in an upstairs apartment and we'll have to wear earphones but I killed for something just to stay in tune pretty good sound all right and something to practice with something I go do everyday man be thankful for what you got all you guys out there I got more desire to want to practice and learn and play then many but can't express myself cuz life y'all got good stuff cherish it practice enjoy it cuz I wish I could

Hilarious! A 50 watt amp would be twice as loud as 5 watt amp! In this example the Mesa would be 4X as loud as the champ! SPL science, however how far can the fog be seen! Lol! Also consider running the champ through one of the marshall cabinets!

I feel bad for the lefties out there! :(. I have not had a chance to play the striped series. I would like to get one, just hasn’t been in the cards. I would suspect they are very similar. The legendary angled humbucker debate may prove to be a factor. I need to get my hands on one. I do know that I love the Frankie. I am a fan of a good relic’d guitar and how they feel. I am starting to thjnk it plays a role in the tone. Never thought I’d be on that band wagon, but I believe I have fully climbed aboard.
I knew it before you plugged it in the plexi had it from last time , overdrive eats up tone compressed signal but that’s the circuit, plexi rhythm/ mesa dc5 lead tone my vote , great shootout
A more realistic comparison would have been to plug the Fender Champ into the two Quad boxes, one small speaker isn't really going to propagate as much sound as eight 12 inch speakers would, so it's not a fair comparison.
Excellent fog effects!!! Definitely a requirement. Agreed, Marshall Plexi is my choice. What part of the country , looks peaceful, besides the dimed out AMP.

Having 8 speakers helps. But yeah boogie 50 watts aren't as loud as marshall 50 watts. Lot less treble and high end
