I’m trying this when I go back to work monday! My 94 build I’ve been finding out it needs so much stuff as I tear deeper into it. Bearings look original and super loose and rusty. So far bought the tools you had links for the races. Looks like if it all goes planned I won’t need to spend any money for this part of the job.
Thank you Ben! The goal is to be right to the point with these tech tips. Most times (like me) I am in the garage, frustrated and want to get right to the info and don't care about all the fluff and BS in most videos. I appreciate the support 🙌🏼
Lots of heat lol. If the bearing is bad, snip the cage off with the rollers, then you can use a punch on the lip of the inner race. Keep in mind that the race could chip as well. If it does, tons of heat again, and use a small chisel in between the clamp and bottom of the race. This can get hairy though because you can easily knick the triple clamps.
perfect, keepin it simple, take it slow.
We need more people like this, thank you for sharing your knowledge

wonderful lesson in a fast easy video
Hey bro, got any tips on removing the lower steering bearing off the bottom triple clamp?

The real trick is getting g the old ones off. And the races...
Hydraulic press will remove the lower stem bearing in 2 minutes. Motion Pro makes a race remover.
