    You are literally a GODSEND. Your videos are top tier, full of great practical advice, and I love how you show each step so we know what to expect visually. Like none of the blogs I read actually EXPLAINED what rope drop looked like or what the etiquette is (I would have totally been kicked to the back of the line by the cast because I didn't know you're not supposed to walk ahead of them!). Thanks for the thorough explanations and sharing your thought process behind each recommendation. I watch you more than DFB guide now :p

    • @EarScouts

      Thank you so much - we really appreciate this sweet comment! We should clarify that this etiquette is for early entry rope drop at Magic Kingdom specifically. Each park has a different flavor of rope drop and the specifics change a bit when it is not early entry. Your comment is super helpful because it made us realize we need to do a video similar to this one for all of the parks so everyone can see what to expect in the others, as well. We'll have to start saving up for all those hotel stays now. 🤣

      @@EarScouts that would be so helpful! We have a trip coming next year where we will attempt rope drop in a couple of the parks (other days we will have extended/extra evening hours). It's be great to not only see early entry for all of the parks so we can learn the etiquette, but also what your strategy for the extra/extended evening hours is in the parks! Thanks for all your hard work. Your videos are helpful, informative, engaging, and just plain fun!

    It plainly shows that YOU CARE about INFORMING us, rather than pleasing yourself hearing your own voice! I swear THAT’S the impression I get from watching most everyone else!
    I do have a suggestion. Your videos are interspersed with so much information that I often find myself scrolling foreword and backward through them to recall some specific tip. It might be helpful to end each video with a “Bullet Point” summary of the major tips, all in one place.
    Keep up the great work!

With all I’ve read that wasn’t ever clearly explained. Also, thanks for offering the other strategies for 2nd rope dropping in Frontierland - we were thinking of this strategy during Christmas time and doing ILL for 7DMT and skipping Peter Pan as it’s not one of our top do rides. Thank you! And I think the poor Cast Members who have to run the line at Peter Pan's Flight would agree with us, too. I feel so bad for them when people start getting angry, but it's not their fault they are told to let over 100 people go through from Lightning Lane for each party of 4 from standby. And it's also not hard to see why people get angry. Disney needs to fix it.

    I have a question - let’s say we are going to magic kingdom and will have access to it all, early park access and will be utilizing genie plus and any other individual lightning Lane pay to play services. The catch is I’m going with a 4 1/2 year-old and a two year old. After watching this video I’m wondering what your opinion is on how to use early entry and early access to genie plus at 7 AM and what your strategy would be for the kids. Meet and greet Mickey and Minnie at Townhall. Princesses shows are probably going to be our number one thing. TIA ❤

I was in the same spot as you when I started waiting in line for Peter Pan last summer and it was over an hour! Now I know that if the lightning lane is not running, then the line moves quickly. I really didn't want to use a lightning lane and skip the que because like you that is my favorite part of the ride. You have an awesome sense of humor and you are very good at explaining all of these complicated rules in a simple, easy to understand manner. I look forward to watching your new videos in the future! Thank you so much for this thoughtful comment. Peter Pan’s Flight is maybe the trickiest ride in the park for standby. I’ve been there when the line flew by (even with LL running) but that is super rare. I love these vlogs! Do you have any tips for getting rise if the resistance ? We just went and it was impossible

    • @EarScouts
      @EarScouts  2 года назад

      Thanks so much! Rise is tricky. Your best bet (if you are willing to pay for it) is to book an Individual Attraction Lightning Lane as early in the morning as you can. If you have a Disney or partner hotel, you can start booking at 7am. If not, you can start booking at the time the park opens. If you’d rather not pay, your best bet is to ride it as the last ride of the night. Get in line right before park close and you’ll be allowed to stay as long as it takes to ride, unless it goes down. And that’s the big risk because it goes down a LOT. The other option is to go there first thing in the morning, but I only recommend this if you are staying at a Disney/partner hotel and you go for early entry. You’ll need to be there at least 30 minutes before early entry starts (and ideally 45 minutes to an hour before) so you can be at the front of the crowd like we did in this early entry video. If none of these sound good to you, keep an eye on wait times and if you notice it is down, try to do things in the Galaxy’s Edge area. That way, if it comes back up, you can hopefully be among the first in line. I wouldn’t bank on this last option though. You never know how long it will be down and it involves a lot of luck. If you ever see it posted at 60 or less, just get in the line. It is exceedingly rare that it will get better than that unless the park is really empty. Hope that helps!

    Very helpful video to actually see the rope drop process. How early would you recommend arriving during non-peak times on a slow fall day? (Please don’t say an hour early!!) Thank you! Love your videos!

    • @EarScouts
      @EarScouts  2 года назад +2

      Thanks so much for watching! So we shot this video on a non-holiday weekday and the parks were fairly slow. That's how I managed to get a bus to myself. We actually did not catch the first bus from the resort, we caught it just after 7:00 and the first bus would have been at 6:30. I think you could probably get away with catching the next bus after the one we got (around 7:15 - 7:20) and still not be too far back on a slow morning - but it would be a gamble. Whenever I arrive 30 minutes or less before early park entry, I am way back in the herd and it generally takes the entire early entry period (or more) to ride that top-tier ride (Mine Train, Flight of Passage, Remy, Rise). Hope that helps!

      Hi Sadie! We have gotten so many different answers from different bus drivers. 😂 The truth is the buses will almost always start at all the resorts about an hour before early entry. Depending on how busy it is and how much staff they have available, they can start as early as 2 hours before (which is what we experienced in this video), but that is really rare apparently. I’d say be at the bus stop a little more than 1 hour before early entry even if they tell you it won’t start until later. Thanks for watching! 😃

    Yes you still have to wait in the morning and are still technically waiting in line for the one big attraction you are starting with. However, I would argue you still save a lot of time in line throughout the day this way. The people who didn’t do this in the morning will be absorbed by the big rides you already did, allowing you to get on some other things very quickly in the morning that have very high waits in the afternoon ( splash mountain, big thunder, haunted mansion etc.) while they are waiting to get on mine train. it’s a domino effect throughout the day- you end up having the attractions left that have the shortest wait times during peak park hours 😊.

    • @EarScouts
      @EarScouts  2 года назад

      I agree with this assessment. Plus, the time you are in line is basically “bonus” time. You are not using any of your park hours to wait in what is typically the longest line in the park. If your goal is to do as much as possible at Disney World, getting there early is key. Thanks for watching and sharing this good advice. 😃

      I have been told different things by several cast members. The bus driver at Saratoga Springs was the one who told me the bus runs two hours before park open (including early entry). I suppose it may vary by park or resort, but I know they were running that early at Saratoga because I talked to the bus driver who drove the route. I was surprised to have missed the first bus because I was a good bit earlier than when the cast member at the front desk told me the first bus would come. Please let us know what you experience. Thanks - and thanks for watching!

      I just got back and they also told us 1 hour before early entry but most times the bus would pick us up about 1.5 hours before early entry. Also, when going to Magic Kingdom, there was a ton of people waiting already for a bus 1.5 hours before early entry, so I would recommend going earlier. I was staying at Pop Century.

      Thank you! You could absolutely rope drop Space Mountain and use Genie Plus to ride Peter Pan’s Flight, but you would miss the interactive queue which is quite cute. That said, it is not worth an hour in line. 😂 If you decide to second rope drop Big Thunder and Splash, keep in mind that Splash often opens a little later. Not always, but some mornings it takes a little longer to get going (I can relate - lol). If it isn’t open yet, hit Thunder and hopefully you’ll time it right to get Splash with little or no wait too. Good luck!

    Dear parents!
    Let the kids choose their favourite Disney Parks souvenirs!!! When the kids are very good, then they deserve more souvenirs. Every good behaviour kid should have 1-2 bags of Disney Parks souvenirs: plush toys, toys, mini figures, bubble blower, Mickey ears, t-shirts, jacket, drinking bottle, and some pins or magnets and etc. Please buy only those Disney Parks souvenirs, what the kids very want!!!! I know many Disney souvenirs are very expensive, but when the kids are very good all the times, then sometimes they deserve these things!!! Please be kind parents and make Your kids very happy with these Disney Parks souvenirs, what the kids have chosen and don’t say NO all the times, when the kids very deserves those Disney Parks souvenirs for good behaviour!!!

One question though, when I am using Genie+ to make a lightning lane reservation, can I edit it so that it’s only some of my party? We have 5 in our group but 2 don’t want to go on the tower of terror. Would it be more efficient to make the reservation for all 5 and then just have everyone scan in but the 2 can exit the ride or is there a way to only reserve for the 3 who are going on that ride? Thanks in advance!

      Hi Stephen - thanks for watching! This is a great question. I’m actually answering it in the video we are filming today because it comes up a lot. Your best bet is to go ahead and book for everyone and then tap into the reservation. There will be a link to cancel. When you click that, it will ask you who you want to cancel for and you can choose the individual people who don’t want to ride. Hope that helps!

    • @EarScouts
      @EarScouts  3 месяца назад +1

      Things change daily with the buses. They should always start at least 1 hour before early entry at the park you are heading to. They can start as early as 2 hours before (that is very rare, but I have seen it). According to Cast Members who work as bus drivers, it depends on staffing levels that morning and expected demand, but the goal is always at least one hour before early entry. I imagine they say 45 in case the first bus is running late.

However, according to the official website, it says that the bus service from resorts to theme parks begins 45 minutes before the theme parks opens. So for example if Magic Kingdom opens at 8 a.m, the first bus from resorts to MK is 7:15. However, the early entry starts at 7:30, so in this case is it like even taking the first bus doesn't allow me to enter the park early? Thanks.

      That’s a great question. I do not have any experience using the Swan & Dolphin buses, but I’m pretty sure they take you to the Transportation & Ticket Center instead of the Magic Kingdom directly. I also don’t know how frequently they run or what time they start. While I trust Disney transportation, I’d be more inclined to drive myself at S&D if I were concerned about timing. @sonsofstretford3866 You could also walk over to Boardwalk or Yacht & Beach and take a bus from there. They typically start at least one hour before early entry begins. I was in the front of the line waiting to go to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train pushing my 3 year old in a stroller. Once the park let us through, I went from first in the crowd to last because I had to take the time to park my stroller then stand in the long line. I highly recommended taking a stroller for future videos so parents can get a better idea of how it works. Parent swap also slows you down on getting parks done faster. Hello! The buses are one of the most unpredictable things at WDW. I have never seen them come later than 1 hour before early entry begins. So if EE is at 8:30 at MK, your bus should arrive by 7:30. It CAN come as early as two hours before EE and I have seen that happen with my own eyes, but it is rare and the bus drivers I spoke to said it only really starts that early when they have an excess of drivers early in the morning and are expecting larger crowds. The best advice I can give is that the first bus will come somewhere between 1 and 2 hours before early entry unless there is some kind of issue. Hope you have a great trip! 😃

      @EarScouts  Год назад

      Hi Tania! My favorite thing is to grab a coffee (and maybe a snack) before I leave and then plan to relax and enjoy a breakfast after the park opens and the wait times tick up. If I don’t have Genie, I’ll usually try to do as much as I can before it gets too late in the day, so I might snack a bit if I’m still seeing comparatively short waits. If you don’t have Genie, early in the day and late at night will be your most productive times to ride rides, so try to plan meals with that in mind. If you have Genie, you can be a lot more flexible. Good luck! 🍀

      Thanks so much for subscribing! Glad to hear you found this one helpful. We actually just put out a new early entry video for Epcot this morning and we already recorded one for Hollywood Studios that should be out soon.
