We went a month ago to animal kingdom and park hopped to epcot and we're at the parks on a wednesday. Here was our agenda
-purchased guardians LL for 230
-safari booked for 930
- we rode everest without a fast pass first
- went to safari
-booked test track for 2:45
-watched festival of lion king
- waited for flight of passage
- fast pass for everest
- fast pass for dinosaur
- park hopped around 215
- rode guardians and booked virtual queue for guardians
- rode test track
- ate dinner at San Angel inn and restaurants at 415
- had a Remy LL booked for 445
- LL for soaring
- LL turtle talk
- waited for spaceship earth

Questions:
1) Can you purchase lightning lanes for guardians for a set time? I want to be sure I am in epcot for it? You said you got 2:30 PM
2) How do you book a virtual queue for the guardians again?
3) Can I get a lightning lane for Remy's and Test Track at epcot while at Animal Kingdom or do i need to wait until I am in epcot.
4) What is the difference between fast pass and LL you listed above

We did this scenario of AK to Epcot just last week. Sharing what we did as resort guests if it helps anyone! We booked Remy first thing, did a ILL for Guardians and then rope dropped Flight of Passage at 7:30am. We walked to Safari which was just opening and had about a 10 minute wait. We then relaxed and enjoyed the park for a bit while my son and his grandmother did Everest. We definitely could've done Genie for Navi or other AK things but I wanted to make sure we'd have Remy. I booked Test Track as my next LL. We also had the advantage of Extended Evening Hours in Epcot so we actually went back to the hotel and had a nap/rest. We then hopped to Epcot around 4:30/5 and did pretty much everything including the virtual queue at 6pm for Guardians. We rode Remy, Frozen, Test Track and all the other rides during the extended evening. It was a looong day but fun! If we hadn't had Extended Evening hours, we would've hopped directly and probably accomplished the same amount.

I've always felt these two parks paired best with eachother with one opening early and the other staying open later.
Might I also recommend taking the AK bus to DHS and riding the skyliner or friendship boats to the international entrance at EPCOT. Feels like no wasted steps if you enter the park there.
Those are the two biggest parks so your dogs will be barking but the magic helps...
That’s a great suggestion. Unfortunately, I had to have my vehicle with me due to plans for later that night and we were too behind schedule for me to park at DHS. Otherwise, I agree that can be a fun addition. The Skyliner is like a ride in itself. Thanks for watching! 😃

Just came to thank you for all the super helpful tips! Just came back from the most perfect Disney vacation.
We actually did this day in reverse - early entry epcot (virtual queue for guardians, ran to frozen, and genie plus for remy), then hopped to AK in the afternoon (stacking genie plus LL for most attractions, buying ILL for flight of passage, and just enjoyed short lines for the rest).
The only thing I was not successful with was playing the slots - never got me a better time. Maybe bc I didn’t have more than a few minutes at a time (small kids), or maybe bc my group was large (I forgot your tip to break it up if needed). Still got everything we needed though! Thanks again!
I thought the 2 hours started when the park I was at opened, you just saved my life. Redoing my strategy right now thanks to this video. Not getting that Remy LL at 7 will have me anxious 4 sure.
I love Na’vi river journey it’s always my rope drop ride. One time I rode it twice in a row, it definitely was a zen way to start my AK day

Such a fun video… I love living vicariously through you! 😂 It was really interesting to see that even on a day when Genie+ sold out, the low demand rides in Epcot still had immediate availability. Do you recall if those had much of a standby wait at that time? Well thank you for another fun video, and I’m glad you got that green light at Remy just in the nick of time!
Hey Meeshwell - those rides up toward the front of the park don’t typically have long waits toward the end of the night (except Test Track, of course). I don’t remember specifically how things were looking that night, but I’d be surprised if any of them had a wait more than 20 minutes and most were probably closer to 5 or 10.
It would be helpful if you could show your active Lightning Lane bookings in the bottom of your video. It was kind of confusing to keep track of your plan. However, your videos are lifesavers. Thank you so much.😃

We have been to Disney numerous times over the years, but the last time we went was 2 years ago in that interim period after they discontinued FP and before they unveiled Genie+. To that end - I am trying to learn all the tips and tricks from your videos for navigating Genie + and ILL.
A couple questions if you’ll indulge me…
1) Can you elaborate a little more in the alternating LL strategy for park hopping?
2) We only have 2 days down there this trip, so we are trying to figure out which 2 parks we should pair up each day. If we did the two together as in this video, that would leave MK and HS for the other day. Wondering if that might be a difficult pairing? Also, one of our days is also MNSSHP day. We will not be attending, but not sure how that might factor in to the equation.
To add - our group (all over age 8) will want to ride a mix of coasters (ideally all major rides) and a few smaller, nostalgic rides.
Would love to see what your favorite park hopping pairs are and maybe one from Magic kingdom to Hollywood! Thanks for your great videos!

Question: when you were booking the ‘big 3’ Epcot rides from AK and they were showing as not available, did you play the slots by just continuously refreshing until it showed a time, or did you book a different Epcot ride (mission space or something) then immediately start modifying until you got the ride you actually wanted? (I assume the 2nd one because I know that would start your 2 hour clock but wasn’t sure!) Great video as always!

Hi Rasha! Thank you and welcome to our channel. 😃 For me, I’ve always bought tickets directly through Disney. Before I lived here, I would use my Disney Visa card to book hotel and tickets together on the Disney World website. You don’t really save anything, but the card lets you pay for the package in monthly installments with no finance or interest charges. Since I’ve moved here and started the channel, I’ve always had an annual pass, so it hasn’t really been an issue. I do know that Undercover Tourist is trusted by many people and is a reputable site for getting tickets at a small discount. You can find them at: www.undercovertourist.com

Awesome video! I'm not totally clear on booking at both parks. Does the two hour rule span both of the parks? Like do you need to do genie + at Animal OR Epcot? Or are you able to play genie + at Animal while at the same time at Epcot? Meaning, can you book an 11 genie + at Animal Kingdom and be booking one for Epcot at the same time? I'm not sure why I did not catch this...
Hi Megan! Great question. Unfortunately, the two hour rule is not limited to one park. While you can always book in a different park when you have a park hopper and the ride you want to book is after 2pm (when you can hop), you still have to wait two hours after every ride you book unless you ride it before the 2 hours is up. Hope that helps!
You do a great job but I was never able to get more than 4 lightening lanes in one day. Most days were 3. You must have great luck!
Did you try to book either as soon as you tapped in or after 2 hours? Did you try the modify feature? Sorry it didn’t work out for you…

Can you do ways to hop? Different park options.
Rob - What do you think about doing an AK afternoon? We're do a half-day in the parks when we arrive in early May, and plan is to get to ASM by 12:30, then over to AK by 1pm to eat lunch. We weren't planning to get genie+ for just that half day but hoping to do Na'vi, Flight of Passage, & Everest. Seem feasible before park close since it's the off-season?
Hi Becky - I LOVE doing AK in the afternoon. It’s actually how I usually do it because it gets pretty thinned out as the day goes on (everybody is hopping) and Pandora looks stunning at night. Just make sure you keep an eye on closing times for the attractions that are most important to you. Safaris, animal trails, Rafikis Planet Watch and even Kali River Rapids will often close early. The entire land of Africa will often close after dark, which can be a bummer if you don’t plan for it. I don’t think you NEED Genie. I’d plan to make FOP my very last ride and get in that line just before the park closes. Let us know how it goes!

How were you able to book soarin at 5:40 if you had rent at 4? Isn’t that within the two hours?
Re: no Genie+ LL availability for Remy's, how long do you play the slots for and hope something comes up vs. cutting your losses and booking Frozen? Can you ever modify lightning lane from 1 attraction to another?
Hi TC - yes, you can modify a Lightning Lane and choose a different attraction as long as it is in the same park, available, and you haven’t already ridden it using the Lightning Lane. For me, I typically play for no more than 15 minutes at a time unless I am in a long line or on a Disney bus or something like that where there’s not really anything better to do anyway. Hope that helps!

We're literally doing this in a couple of weeks. Starting at Animal Kingdom and then going to Epcot. We weren't planning to do Genie on that day but do a couple ILLs (Guardian's and FOP) I hope that's a good plan😬
Hello! You can’t go wrong with these parks. Even without Genie Plus, there’s so much to do without Lightning Lanes (World Showcase, animal trails, festival stuff at Epcot). The only case where I’d say you need the genie is if Frozen, Remy, Test Track and Navi River Journey are all must-do rides for you. It could be difficult to hit all those in one day without the Genie. Hope you have a great time! 😃
@Ear Scouts Thank you so much! We are going to Epcot during Extended Evening hours so I hope that helps with getting on Remy and Frozen. Frozen isn't a must but Remy definitely is for my son!

@@Onniesprairiegarden We just did the same thing you're planning on doing with extended evening hours and I probably didn't need Genie+. You can definitely hop in to the Remy line as fireworks are happening (if they're not important to you) but there is a rush once fireworks ends. It was a lower crowd day for us so that can make a difference. I posted what our day was like in the comments. Hope it helps!

Hi Alejandro! Just out of curiosity, why are you starting with MK and then hopping in and out of AK? The reason I ask is that AK typically opens much earlier, so you could get more park time in by starting there and cutting one of your trips between the parks. Thanks for watching! 😃

Great video! How long does it take to get from Animal Kingdom to Epcot? By what transportation?
Hi Joann - your only Disney transportation option at Animal Kingdom is bus. It typically takes 20-30 minutes to get from AK to Epcot (including the time to wait for the bus to depart), though it can take as long as 45 minutes. I generally budget 30 minutes and give myself some wiggle room in case it is closer to 45. Thanks for watching! 😃
Also, for mobile food ordering, do you have to pay when you order, or when you pick up your food? Your videos have been very helpful since I have only gone to Disneyland and CA land.
If you need to wait 30 minutes to book an attraction, isn’t it better to go to the walk by line and go 2 times?
When booking those LL for Epcot....did you try to get the first one when you estimated your time of arrival? Or did you try to get it at a later time in the evening? Following the 2 hour rule, I guess it does not matter the time of your next LL as long as they don't overlap? Or can they overlap and you do one and then rush to the next before it expires? Is this what you mean by stacking? I love your videos! Just wish you were my brother, so I could be a nagging sister and make you be my tour guide of the day! I'm learning and taking all the notes I can.
It's a grandma/ grandson trip and I will admit I'm afraid of Everest and I really want to force myself to ride it....Scared!!!
Hi Linda! Everest is the BEST! It’s exciting, but not super scary. As far as booking times, I will always take whatever I can get first (keeping in mind that it won’t let you book anything before your park hopping time of 2pm). Once I have *something*, I will keep modifying it to try to get my ideal time. You can keep modifying right up until you ride (or the park closes - it has let me modify expires Lightning Lanes as I mentioned in this video). The 2 hours always count from the first time you booked the initial one, so modify away and it won’t affect the 2 hour rule. Thanks for watching! 😃

Hi Rob, thanks for the tips as always. Recently went back and watched your large party Genie+ video and have a question. Visiting during the Tron Opening & Easter week so I’m assuming the parks will be almost as crowded as they were for you on Dec30. I have a party of 6 on some days and a party of 7 on others. Should we split into a party of 3&3 and 4 & 3 on Genie+? Also, will Tron be easier to get as one group of 7 or as two smaller groups, obviously the risk there being the two groups might not get the same return time. Thanks again!
Your videos are so helpful! I'm going in september and I've learned so much. So you can book a LL for the other park starting at opening time for that park even though you can't actually go there until 2? And you're able to stack them one after the other while still booking LLs for the original park you start out in?

Hi Rob! If there is 1 person who wants a specific ride and the others in the party want a different ride, can you break up the bookings for LL? Say hubs wants to ride test track but the kids and I want something else. Can we book him on test track and us on a different ride during the same 2 hour window?
Yes you absolutely can! If you are trying to very quickly book a high demand ride, go ahead and book that for everyone and then go back in later and modify it to change the ones who don’t want that ride. Otherwise, when you are initially booking the LL you can select who will be riding, it just takes a few more seconds to uncheck the boxes for the people who don’t want that LL… that’s why I said if you’re in a hurry to book fast, just book them and modify later. Hope that makes sense.

I'm planning to do AK and then have After Hours event ticket at Epcot for that night. Can I use Genie+ to reserve LL in Epcot starting at my allowed entry time of 7 pm until my event @ 10 pm? Thanks!

Hello Ina - you do not have to start the day in any particular park to buy an Individual Attraction Lightning Lane, you’ll just need a park hopper ticket and to book the ride after 2pm if it is not in your first park. Thanks for watching! 😃

Do you have to pay for genie plus twice when you park hop?
Hi Christine - that’s actually one of the best parts of Disney Genie - it hops with you wherever you go at no extra charge. I’ll often hop to MK after I finish making Genie videos in the other parks and ride my favorites until 11pm. 😃

Does the 2-hour clock count from the time you actually book your lightly lane or from the time of the return ride?
Hi Debbie! It starts counting down from the moment you book the Lightning Lane. Even if you modify that reservation by tapping the three dots and choosing “modify plan”, it will still keep counting down from the first time you booked the initial one. Thanks for watching! 😃

Hi Katie! We are planning some new park hopping videos in 2024 after the rules change in January. We’ll definitely put HS to MK on the list for consideration. I’ve been to wdw many times so familiar with rides and park layout, but I have never park hopped before!!! 😬I am going in early June for 3 days, but want to go to all 4 parks and hit all the big rides I love 🤞🏼which parks would you recommend hopping to and in what order? ( my first thought was AK/Epcot, but i’ve seen people say AK/HS is a better hop option when you have to merge parks or to do AK in the pm bc of hard to get LLS at epcot and HS) Also would you still recommended making LLs back & forth between the parks with or just do all of them for epcot or HS because of so many priority LLs that sell out at those two parks? I’m willing to pay for some ILLs and we will have early entry staying at POP!
