I’ve been one since 1999 and I can tell you from personal experience, I’ve had problems with other fans, I went into GameStop once in my home town and a guy in his late 30s or early 40s held he door for me, he was very friendly to me because I wore a Red Sox. He preceded to tell me he’s a patriots fan to which I replied. “Bleh I like the Eagles man”and his entire demeanor changed. He preceded to ask what was wrong with me, and told me “I’m not a Red Sox fan I’m a wannabe”. After I left him at that he continued to make comments at me while I was browsing inside the store and before he left he walked up and said “You know what, you might as well just give me that hat” while standing right in front of me fulling expecting me to be fearful enough to give it to him. YANKEES FOR LIFE we have had many World Series yeah but we also are one of the longest franchises so we've kind of had an advantage. Not to mention the countless ledgends. Those key home grown Yanks (including Bernie Williams, who was signed by the Yanks at the age of 17 before the '88-'92 dark years) were the heart of the 1996-2003 Yankee Dynasty that won 4 World Championships and 6 AL Pennants, winning a 5th title together in 2009.
Because of the sustained success, the Yankees had low draft picks, which meant that they began relying on free agency and trade as other teams used the draft. When the Yankees won the 5th championship of the Jeter/Mariano Rivera era in 2009, the home grown core was joined by players acquired by trade, like Alex Rodriguez, those acquired by free agency, like C.C. Sabathia and Mark Teixeira, and even an occasional home grown stud, like Robinson Cano.
As the Yankee core aged out of the game, the Yankees began rebuilding their farm system through trades and careful management of resources. Eventually, it led to the system's current status as among the best in the game. It took time, effort, and intelligence to build the system up with bad draft position every year, but GM Brian Cashman and the Yankees somehow did just that.

I’m a Red Sox fan. I’ve been one since 1999 and I can tell you from personal experience, I’ve had problems with other fans, I went into GameStop once in my home town and a guy in his late 30s or early 40s held he door for me, he was very friendly to me because I wore a Red Sox. He preceded to tell me he’s a patriots fan to which I replied. “Bleh I like the Eagles man”and his entire demeanor changed. He preceded to ask what was wrong with me, and told me “I’m not a Red Sox fan I’m a wannabe”. After I left him at that he continued to make comments at me while I was browsing inside the store and before he left he walked up and said “You know what, you might as well just give me that hat” while standing right in front of me fulling expecting me to be fearful enough to give it to him. (I didn’t by the way)

For those that bash the Cavs, just a PSA, there are two types of fans out there: Those who are fans because they live in Cleveland and support all of the local teams like the Indians and Browns (myself included) and those who are just fans of LeBron James and will follow whichever team he is a part of. YANKEES FOR LIFE we have had many World Series yeah but we also are one of the longest franchises so we've kind of had an advantage. Not to mention the countless ledgends. I have respect for every team but Yankees reign supreme in my book. But think of it,

2. We haven't just had 27 World Series we went on a streak. The only decade we haven't won was in the 80's.
