Ay, yall what Alley Boy sayin about his kidneys is really real! My kidneys were first compromised from drinking tap water in prison. 8 years! I never noticed it cuz i was so athletic! Playing ball and working out so often, i stayed hydrated, but one day, i went to the infirmary after nearly passing out. Found out i had kidney stones due to dehydration from drinking the tap water which was full of calcium. Even tho calcium is a natural mineral, it can still build up and become hazardous to your body just as well as sugar, sodium, and red meat! That was 20 years ago and I've since had a few more episodes with stones and even been hospitalized! Thats when it got my attention and i began to learn more about my body, my diet, and my quality of life. A few of my homies died from kidney failure. They were between late 20s to late 30s and they died, I'm not saying we lives perfect lives cuz of course, we: drank, smoke (some smoked sherm) and eat/drink what you would consider "normal" food and bevarages in our culture but to die so young? That's scary! Now, I'm 46 and I've been really tryna get it right cuz my generation is literally dying of sickness and disease like old folks... people in their 80s! I know this post was long, but its real yall. My mama (RIP) used to say: take care of yourself now or somebody else will have to take care of you later🙏🏼

Health effects of opiates are very little aside from dependency which is caused by your body up-regulating the amount of opiate/endorpgins receptors in your brain so it can maintain homeostasis while having an excess of opiates in your body. This will lead to you feeling terrible without it because you have way more receptors for the endorphin chemicals than your body can produce endorphins to fill. You will be seriously depressed but eventually your body kills the extra receptors and you'll go back to normal. Aside from that, constipation from opiates is unhealthy because feces is full of toxins, especially in the modern era of processed foods. Your contaminated feces spending too much time in your body can cause intestinal cancer. Also, long term opiate use can lower bone density and cause osteoporosis but this is rare. I believe that the kidney issues a lot of rappers talking about experiencing from lean is due to the promethazine component, not the codeine.
