    Is it not possible for the crown court to consider cases as a first instance for certain case such as more serious cases

      Hello! Yes as I have mentioned in my Video that "Magistrate Court sends cases that are indictable in nature to the Crown Court", which means that either these cases are sent directly to the Crown Court or transferred by the Magistrate Court. So, yes you are right in stating that for indictable offences Crown court is the court of first instance.
