I am interested in getting one. I was concern of hurting the dewalt battery. But, doing like you did disconnecting the battery when trying to start it you would think it would be fine. Letting the juice transfer for like you said 3 to 5 min is what I had in my mind thinking no way I wanted to try starting while battery was attached. I was like my luck blow my good dewalt battery.
