A totally fun, awesome episode! And how awesome that Boy was part of the team for an episode: even kicking in a door and riding in the famous van! Great memories!
I remember that episode to this day! My favorite TV show and favorite band together! I remember the close up of Boy George's shoes at the start of this song in the show...they were the coolest shoes I'd ever seen. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. Now I'm going to find that episode on Netflix or Hulu.
God Only knows how f****** much I miss Those Years... the A-Team, The Fun, The Smiles and above all The Dear-Departed Loved Ones... ALWAYS and FOREVER Locked in my Heart!! Cheers Everybody! ;***-))
I read that this song was about Boy George's best friend. I do like this and "Move Away". I saw this song on The A-Team and loved it. I have to admit, I never saw the video for this song until looking for the song on RUclips. The effects in it are outstanding, especially for the time it was made. They could re-release it as it is and it wouldn't look old-fashioned.
Currently reading Boy George's 1995 Autobiography. This videoclip was filmed during the height of his descent into heavy drug use. There was a lot of in-house fighting going on the day this clip was filmed and George himself was semi "wired" here. He covers it up well.
+Brandon Quatro IKR I read it too and I was WTH, the only time I have ever seen him not managing to cover it well is at Clapham Common, how the heck did he manage to hold it together. I can't tell in Move Away either.
Yeah, and likewise, he was probably just as "wired" when he filmed COWBOY GEORGE for the A-TEAM as this was in the era of when he was coked out beyond belief.
God Thank You Cats!!🐈💕🐱💕🐈 I'm listening to this music while crying. Cause, my loving cat passed away eary in the morning yesterday. (November 17) I named her RanRan(蘭々). She was very lovely and selifish girl. But we had been loving each other seriously. Our love was very clumsy . I still love her. I always felt her close to me. I tried to improve our relationship. But we couldn't well. Anyway, God thank you My Loving CAT and Boy George !! They told me True Love.💕 She lived 19years and 6months. I am prould of her.💕😳💕 🎌🌸😃🌸🎌Maro From Japan with Love 🎌🌸😨🌸🎌
I ALWAYS CONSIDERED BOY GEORGE AND CULTURE CLUB AS ONE OF THE GREATEST THEE BEST THINK THEY SHD BE IN ROCK HALL OF FAME TOO. LOVE U BG AND CULTURE CLUB ALWAYS
Another CULTURE CLUB epic song! I love the intro ... which reminds me of their big hit 'I'll Tumble For ya'...which is so full of Joy and positive mood.
FUN FACT: Roy and Mikey always asked George on why he never writes songs about women, so George wrote GTYW, and told them that the song was about his mother, in reality George says that the song means absolutely nothing. Nada.
I know a woman George should write a song about, Madonna! He thinks about her more than any of his boyfriends! He should write how he doesn't hate her like everyone thinks and how he wants to be her best friend!
+disiskrazy d Mikey Craig is not playing the bass on this track. That is the synth bass off a Yamaha DX7 and also the tubular bells. You can't miss a DX7 when you hear one.
Actually Mikey plays real electric bass on the "When I'm alone at night" part, you can easily tell his sound. However, yes, CC was mainly Jon Moss programming everything in their last phase. This led Roy and Mikey to a fairly high degree of frustration and George to wanting a more live-oriented sound (which he tried to achieve when going solo).
According to his autobiography, the group as well as others pressured George to write a song about loving a woman, and he wrote it and said that he really had his mom in mind when it was finished. Also he made the comment when he did this video he was stoned. lmbfao!
I was actually reading Boy George's autobiography (Take it Like a Man) and found out he was completely high when he made this video and was surprised it turned out so well. Lol. I love him! It really is a shame that drugs became such a big issue for him; he's still fab, though. Thanks for posting. ^_^
It's a shame this wasn't a hit because it's such a fine performance. I dedicate this to my beautiful girl, Annie. She fills up my senses like night in a forest.
Das War und bleibt die Beste Zeit ! Und die Musikvedio's kann man sich immer wieder anschauen und zuhören ! Einfach klasse ! Da waren wir noch jung ,unerfahren und trugen Schlüpfer ! Lach !
Yes, I remember that song in The A-team. Actually, I`ve known about Boy George and his songs from the episode of 4 season of the series, which I mentioned above. I like his songs. Probably, because they bring back only good memories.
This song is completely glorious. It was ignored at the time because Boy George's popularity had severely declined. If this song never existed and Bruno Mars sang it today the song would be #1 for 6 weeks.
Thanks for posting this. I love this song. It actually reminds me of "The A Team" -- remember the episode where Boy guest starred? Everytime I hear this song, those images come to mind....
I 💜 Boy George Culture Club are still awesome to listen to now they always make sure their songs have a,beat make u wanna dance. I love this song and Georges facial expressions in this video are so cute love when he smiles very infectious an his eyes so stunning
