Every time I hear this song I have tears in my eyes to so many memories. Memories of summer 1986, through Italy on vacation with my (young) parents, on board our Lancia Thema Turbo ie. Through Italy on their way to Rome, with this song on the stereo, along with many other songs of that magical time that was the eighties. There are things that will remain forever in our hearts. "Move move move away ...."
On this day in 1986 {February 11th} Boy George guest-starred as Cowboy George on an episode of the NBC-TV adventure series 'The A-Team'... And forty-seven days later on March 30th, 1986 "Move Away"* by Culture Club entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart at position #68; and nine weeks later on June 1st, 1986 it peaked at #12 for two weeks... Between 1982 and 1986 the British quartet had ten Top 100 records; six made the Top 10 with one reaching #1, "Karma Chameleon" for three weeks on January 29th, 1984... * "Move Away" was their ten and last Top 100 record...
This beat rocks....It doesn't matter what decade this song is still fantastic. Remembered when this video first came out.Boy George looked so handsome and so did Culture club. It's so 80's for sure. Just the way I loved it. Thanks for sharing this awesome video.
Not only is this a good video,it also teaches you Italian. Now that we all know BOy George and Jon Moss were having a tumultuos relationship, it ended up with some really good songs.
Fantastic song. Brings back memories for me. Listen to this song over 15 years. Lots of energy. Just love this song. Great outfit George! See you in Toronto some day soon!
A "nasty" person?? I met George numerous amount of times and every single time, he has been charming and had time to have a chat. We all have bad days and who does not loose it? On drugs or not! Anyway! Yes his voice is amazing and he is one of the greatest song writers too.
There's many CC songs that I love but this is in the top 10 for sure. I listen to this song every time I need confidence and I need to break up with a boyfriend. Move Away from me...
This is most likely my favorite underrated song by Culture Club. Between this, Karma Chameleon, and Miss me Blind, were the most relatable songs for me in 2018. I first listened to this song while on my way back from Chicago on my first trip up there that year. I know for a fact I listened to the whole song while on my way back from my second trip there the following week. Will for ever love Boy George and all of Culture Club.
So glad to read good stuff about Boy George. He so talented and creative. Wish I may see him in concert again with Culture Club. Last time was in the 80's. Love this song along with his others.
Great video quality! Thanks so much for sharing! I loved Boy and Culture Club BIG TIME in the 80s, and I still love them! Fabulous group with some pretty deep messages in the lyrics. "Black Money". OMGosh! That song is amazing!
Absolutely addicted to this song when I was 16, great track. I'd like to say it was at a time when the Simon Cowell crud didn't exist but then there was Stock Aitken Waterman.
Ya sale: GREATEST MOMENTS (new CD)!
I remember when this song came out. Love it. I think Work On Me Baby should have been the follow up single. Great summer song. I guess it wouldn't have matter since George was about to crash at this point. Still love From Luxury To Heartache
Yes I agree...great song ...work on me baby is classic Culture Club (the kind of magic that happens only when they are together)...also loved "reason" "come clean" from "..heartache"...great band...George is a brilliant lyricist I thought it interesting that George thought that this song was "over produced" by arif mardin although it was right on time with that "philly" sound at that time...George also said in his autobiography that the vocals for this song were done in Switzerland while he was high and he was pleased that he was able to get a decent vocal from himself despite his partying ways...but he and culture club sound great here or when its down to the bare bones as in "im only trying to help you".
he is sooo hansom in this video and his smile, grrrrrrrr,if he wasn't gay and i wasn't gay i might have had a crush on him back then if i had seen this video then. dang I LOVE this song!!!!
Really can't believe its 25 years since this came out. I was 13 and it wasnt cool for a lad my age to admit that I liked Culture Club but i dont really remember a bad song of theirs.
A very talented singer . Excelant band superb drum rthytem.john moss use to play with the clash . This song is about his homosexual affair with boy George.
Awesome reminiscent song!!! ♪ I never wanted to be your man♪⇒is that Jon Moss at 00:30?? lol Culture Club forever !!! Thank you so much for posting & sharing this wonderful music video*^-^*
just read sum comments, in an interview he said sumthn like he said he never wanted to be a hardworkn serius tuff guy family hero. Thats what he means by man.
man this is really cool! I never saw this b4 but always liked the song. Its hard for me to believe such excellence existed 2 whole years b4 i was born.
Just did a report on androgyny and New Romanticism in the 1980s. I made like 2 out of 12 about Boy George alone... 😂😘😝 He's been my slight obsession since I was 12 years old. So 8 years about? I love his voice. So to those that think he was gender confused. Seriously look up New Romanticism and it will explain what was happening during that time... Plus anyone should be able to express themselves how they feel fit. Society shouldn't dictate that, but ya know what do I know right? 😉
Love this song so much. Grew up listening since I was 18. Listen to a song that Boy George wrote. It called A boy called Alice on You tube. You will love it. Tell me what you think. Thanks for the memories BG?CC

Excellent video and song!
Culture Club: What an amazing band!
Boy George: The most hypertalented singer of the 80's!

Although I enjoy some of the music that is out today, there is nothing like the music of the 80's. They don't make songs like that anymore.

There is only one Boy George and only one Culture Club! Loved them then and still now! Come to America Sir George! We are waiting!
Not only is this a good video,it also teaches you Italian. Now that we all know BOy George and Jon Moss were having a tumultuos relationship, it ended up with some really good songs.
He's got THE MOST BEAUTIFUL eyes in the world!! In love with and love this man!! 4ever my baby.

Min. 3:27. Esa sonrisa recuerda a Benjamín Orr de The Cars.
I forgot all about this song. Awesome and radical, in the totally '80's sense.
Boy George is my favorite of all time!!! I love him!!! This is one of my favorite songs he does!!!
this song and album was the soundtrack to one of the most incredible times of my life

Corría el año 1986. Nostálgica época 😩😫😩
Welcome to Hogwarts with the talking portraits.
That would have been a good school for Boy George. He's a wizard.
He really is a wizard.
And, of course, he would've been in Hufflepoof. ;P
