Congrats to Richard - he is the type of person chess needs: interesting, creative and well spoken. Chess really needs this type of people! Also, Kudos to the journalist who did this and other interviews - finally someone with more interesting, deeper questions. Looking forward to hearing more of them in Berlin!
So happy Rapport won the tournament leg, well deserved amazing performance and chess. Big congratulations to him. I've really become a big fan of him the last couple of months.
Fantasztikus volt Ricsi! Köszi szépen minden magyar sakk szerető ember nevében! It was fantastic Ricsi! Thank you on the behalf of all chess loving hungarian people!
Thank you Fide for uploading those interviews, but please either get rid of the commentator or give that man different questions. WGM Dina Belenkaya for example did a fantastic job during the first leg of the Grand Prix - some original questions and not wasting half the interview the standard stuff "how do you feel" "how was the moment when Dimitri shook your hand", "how important is your wife/family for you" "The computer evaluation is not necessarily what humans would agree", etc.. Rapport still answered them all like a champ but basically by ignoring them. Like Magnus said during the world championship - "do better" with the questions.
I think that is way to harsh. I love Dina's interviews, she came up with some fun original questions. But this interview is a bit more serious and I like that also. The interviewer got Richard to share a lot of his thoughts on life as a chess player, which is something we rarely get to hear from the players.
The interviewer was very respectful and very nice. I feel he did a good job making Rapport feel at ease and getting some qualitative answers. Much deeper content in the answers than most interviews I get to see from the other top rated players tbh.

Richard almost always mentions his wife.
She is truly his greatest supporter through hard times, and he truly loves her

Down to earth guy, living for his passion rather than his ego. Very rare so it seems, I like that.

Éljen Richárd! Én is papucs vagyok, nincs azzal baj! ;)
Delighted for him, He seems like a sound guy. Just needs a good haircult and shave and he will be happy again.
