Adam Kehoe I doubt its fake. Fake ones are found online, but not likely in change. Anyone with a fake wouldn’t discard it as even a fake is worth a fiver.

I have 2008 two pound Queen Elizabeth coin and I was amazed because it seems like there's hologram in the middle as I tilt it and it look like it's a security code telling something about the 8 images in the center. I think it's priceless...

I noticed that the quality of many of those keeper coins was high too. The Robert Burns was shinier than any examples I've collected but that really shiny Navy was glorious. I hope you swap it for the one in your book.

Also, I personally think you should start a new book after the next hunt (20) but keep count of how many hunts it takes to find the NI for your second book. Just my thoughts. 😊

I had a 50p that was twice the size of a normal one and said new pence
Yup, the original 50p coins were significantly larger than the current ones. The current size was introduced in 1997 and the originals were withdrawn from circulation in 1998. The 5p and 10p also got similar size reduction treatments. The term "new pence" came in as part of decimalisation to distinguish the new decimal coinage from the old pre-decimal coinage and was dropped in 1982.

I give in, you win, i collect sovereigns, you collect fiat coins and i still come back to watch these coin searches from start to finish.

What I do is get all the 2 pounds get all the good ones then trade the rest for 50ps

The thing with this is if your patient enough you could just make more and more money, get £500 worth, sort through for any worth more money, sell them and get the rest put on your card ..... go back a week later and repeat

I worked it out in a recent video he has around 200 pounds in 2 pound coins. And a further 200 in 50ps
I don't know how i got here since I've no clue about coin collecting, but that was such a fun and satisfying video 🙌😊

Hi Chris. As an engineer I use many milling & knurling techniques. I cannot agree with the claim that “PEMEMBER” isn’t an error. The Royal mint claims the leg of the R of REMEMBER has coincided with one of the edge milling grooves & has then become worn, so looks like a P. This makes no sense. The leg of the R is at an angle & is struck much deeper than the milled grooves. It’s odd that this supposed line coincidence should occur only on the first R’s & we never see “REMEMBEP” “PEMEMBEP” or “NOVEMBEP”. There can be only 2 real possibilities. (1) the leg of the first R’s on the impressing tool has been badly engraved or (2) the legs on those R’s, which are raised so they indent into the coin, have worn or chipped off. Either way, the error of manufacture (or subsequent wear) on the inscription tool has been overlooked during inspection & passed on to a number of coins before being corrected. The Royal Mint might say this is just wear on the tooling as opposed to an error on the tooling (which it definitely would be if the tool had been badly engraved) but whatever the cause, their official explanation just doesn’t hold water.

I get them from my bank I do have a business account which makes a difference in some places some banks will let you have less

You said that the ones you don't collect go back to the bank. As a new collector myself, I am curious how you do this. Do you just go to the bank and ask for 500-pound bags and then return the ones you don't like? Do you take out a part of your salary and ask for it in coins?

The guy Fawkes coin there is a pemember pemember, because I have one and one that has the remember remember, if you compare the first letter with the last you can see clearly it is a mistake, same with the Charles Darwin, something will turn up, I have two of these and it's clearly a misprint of the word will, since it's ment to be in capital letters WILL, not WIII, which I have one of each spelling

Bro I collect coins I have quite a few coins (the ones with pictures on the back) fifty p and two pounds. 1. I would like to know what you do with you duplicate coins cause I have one folder for 50ps one for two pounds and one for old coins (only three folders) so I don’t have much space to keep them and if I leave them on my desk then knowing me I would loose then. 2. How do you just walk into a bank, ask for 500 pounds worth of two pound coins? 3. What do you do with the coins that are not rare?

Love the navy coin really good condition. Wish I had hunts like this. I still enjoy watching your hunts though plus the facts I get from watching astound me. It never ceases to amaze me how much you know about coins.
It's easy. Check your change and Look and get a good coin book and look at side of dates for mint marks etc. And any thing compare same year same coin study front and back and edges.

I remember as a kid I watched some coin video's (for euro's) learned about the pricing , the rare ones, conditions everything and I was working as a cashier for student job. I put months in collecting the more rare backs with very good conditions, i wrapped them all in plastic and hid them in my drawer and I told myself I would keep them for 20 years and sell them afterwards. One day I come home and every single one of them is gone, later found out my mom needed change for her bus and she used everything, I asked there was way more than for a bus she said she also bought food for us and said she was going to give it back, I told her I was collecting them and they were worth way more she yelled at me and never did I get an apology.

Col Rock100 Just because somethings listed on eBay for a certain price doesn’t mean it’s worth that price. A lot of them are money laundering ads using a popular item as a rouse, but at such a high price that obviously no member of the public will buy it, so they can transfer illegal money between PayPal accounts and appear legal. Same with these Asian car washes popping up everywhere, money laundering cover ups for drug dealers etc.
