One of my favourite albums.....and produced by Dave Ball I think.

Just to correct the date over 10 years later, this appears to actually be the Polder Rock Festival on July 20, 1986 at Sporthal in Roksem, Belgium.

A very interesting document. I loved the group with Guggi and Dik, but Gavin gives this his all!

Yes, I met him a couple of times after blagging my way backstage and I remember that some of the songs that were featured at the very end of Virgin Prunes era also turned up on the first album such as 'Dazzle and delight'. I have recently established contact with him on facebook and he is still very courteous and encouraging.

Thanks for comment. I was wondering if the whole concert was aired, I would love to see it. Really, a great energy on this performance. By the way, The Virgin Prunes did a performance at the Old Grey Whiste Test, I would like to see this too.

?? Never heard of that! Where did you get the info? Was a VP fan back in 1980 when it was them, the Blades, DC Nein, Radiators from Space and another group called U2 doing the venues in Dublin.

To my knowledge the only time that VPs were mentioned on OGWT was when John Peel was reviewing some music video releases and one of those he reviewed was 'Sons Find Devils'.

Really? I never knew that. This performance should be made available. I met Gavin Friday a couple of times and he was a quiet, polite guy, very different from his stage personae!

Really? You met Gavin Friday? DOG'S BOLLOCKS !!!
Wish I had this luck, I'm a great adorer of his solo work, it's just incredible. About his stage persona? I think it's very theatrical. See him it's like to see a play.
