Knife making - Handmade big liner lock knife

- This is my 4th hand made liner lock knife. With every knife I make, I take what I learned from the last knife, and implement it to the new one. This one is bigger, have a better lock bar, a slim pocket clip and the blade is better centered when locked. They keep getting better each time. I call this one V. 0.4. I am really happy with it!
I hope you guys enjoy better quality footage! I bought a real camera, a good tripod and a ring light! When I was done shooting the knife making, and got on my mac for editing, it turned out that my mac could not even render the high quality videos I got... So I bought a new PC, and had to learn how to use a new editing software. Sorry for the late upload!

Watching your video, I was amazed that a craftsman like you uses a drill that does not run true, seeing the chuck running out and the drill bit as well!! But the video was very good and the quality of your work looks exceptional.
Hi! I started making knives about 3 years ago. Budget knife making-style. My drill press cost me 90 bucks new. Its garbage, but for learning how to make knives, it does ok. I am saving to buy a bench top mill. So I just have to make due with it until I can afford better equipment. Thank you for your comment!

To create the half moon pin hole, just find the starter hole the same way you did. Then attach the blade to a block of wood via the main pivot hole. Line up the starter hole with the drill press, clamp the wood to the press's table, and now when you rotate the blade on the block of wood the drill will cut the exact half moon you need.

Nice work. I would have bent the spring lock a bit more to prevent it from slipping in case of hard impacts, though.
How do one know where to make the hole in blade
I do not know if this is how others do it, but I make the pivot hole in the center between the edge of the blade and the top of the blade on liner locks.

Why such a difficult mechanism when a liner lock can be far simpler than this? Seems to be making it more difficult for yourself
Hi! I am no knife making expert. All I know about knives, I have from youtube, and trying different things. Im in the finishing stages of a new knife right now, where I have changed the lock and slide "mechanics". New video will be out in the coming weekend, if all goes as planed. Check out that mechanism and let me know what you thing. I would also appreciate some links to different/better options, if you have some! thanks!
