That was excellent thank you. I very much enjoy these plays and have just bought the Ted Hughes translation. I am going to start reading it today, after your warm recommendation. Looking forward to your Sophocles episode, Oedipus the king is my favourite Greek play.

Really interesting, have to say I am with the furies! Who wouldn't support a woman waiting 10 years to avenge the sacrifice of her child!

If you haven’t already I would HIGHLY recommend This Restless House by Zinnie Harris as she retells the oresteia in a modern perspective but with all the drama!

We put on “The Libation Bearers” back in high-school (more than 15 years ago) and except for the role of Aegisthus (portrayed a bit like a nitwit), all the other characters were dead serious and the overall atmosphere was very grim and tragic. With that contrast in mind, I laughed so hard at your portrayals that I started coughing and am still trying to recover as I’m typing this. 🎭

All this while also thinking what an excellent introduction you’ve made, as always. (ok, stopped coughing)
