I'm Brazilian and 18 y.o. This broke my heart. He was the Man who made our country proud, the Man to brought us the epithome of the biggest sport in the world thrice, the First time scoring twice in the final at the age of 17. A National Hero. He played at a time in which there was no red cards, the balls got to weight almost 2kg in rainy games, poor sports technologies. Almost 600 of his 1283 goals were disconsidered by FIFA for being "unofficial", but this counts for almost half of his career, because the club Santos couldn't pay for their bills, so they promoted tournaments around the world to collect money so they could survive. In these tournaments, he played against many top clubs in Europe at the time, Real Madrid, Inter, Benfica, etc. And scored 144 goals in 130 matches, that where watched with Full Stadiums mesmerized by the King's abilities, but all counted as "unofficial". Somehiw, there are still some people that say he's a fraud for "not playing in Europe". He was truly ahead of his time. Everything done in the sport, Pelé has done it First, with his unique touch of majesty. Vida longa ao Rei. 🖤👑
My Grandpa actually played against him a few times and he always talked about Pelé when I was growing up. Pelé was probably the first footballer I knew about and inspired me to be my best self. Thanks Pelé.
Before his death Ive said Pele is the goat that will never change, because hes the first superstar of football, his impact on the world and the sport was so big on top being extremely good for of course. Its like ali in boxing, he'll forever be the goat even if some boxers beat him 1v1, or MJ in basketball. Thats my opinion.
@@frezzyy7454 Putting Maradona here and not CR is funny. People really affected by the recency bias against the man cuz of his recent childish behavior.
Rest in peace to the Great king pele he well always be remembered as one of the greats not only in Brazil football history but the best in the god damn world I don't care what anybody says about him. He had Achived so many things in his life the 3 world cups says it all. Pele is probably playing football with Maradona in heaven right now 🇧🇷❤️💪
In case you're wondering why the World Cup was different back then: when Brazil won their 3rd World Cup, FIFA decided to give the cup to the Brazilian team as a gift for being the first ones to win it 3 times, then they designed a new one. Thanks to Pelé, Brazil literally "owns" the world cup.
I think Pele was the first footballer ever to earn over $1 Million a season, when he signed on a free transfer for New York Cosmos in 1974 on a 3 year $5 million contract... To give an example on how huge a contract that was back then, the highest transfer fee ever paid for a player back then was Johan Cruyff who left Ajax to Barcelona in 1973 for a transfer fee of just over $1 million... To also give an idea on how much of a global superstar Pele was, football in the U.S back then was even way less popular than it is now, but on his 1st public unveiling for New York Cosmos, the crowd was so much that Pele got injured from everyone fighting just to try and touch him. He was truly footballs first global superstar.
Wales catching Ls forever 😂 On a more serious note, it’s like all of us learnt who Pele was from young. That’s a true global icon at time when media was nowhere as worldwide as it is now. RIP O Eterno Rei who popularised jogo bonito to millions
King PELÉ was ambidextrous (kicked perfectly well with both legs) He had "doble salto" the ability to jump really high from wherever he was standing and stay suspended up in the air. He was only 5'8 and he could out jump guys standing 6'4 and he was lethal with his headers. You see here the skills and magic he possessed. Hes the only player who won 3 World Cups. All the goals and moves you see Messi and Cristiano do, Pelé had already made them 50 years back when there was no social media, nutrition and training technology was nothing compared to what we have today. The soccer balls they played with were like river rocks compared to what they play with today. I can only imagine what would it be like if PELÉ was young and playing these days... VIVA O REI PELÉ10⚽️🇧🇷
Pele the king he looks over the kingdom he built from the peasants that fight over goats to the knights he went to war with and the ones that fight today to keep the kingdom alive the beautiful game long live the king 💙💙
the world cup redesign happened because the first national team to win 3 world cups, would keep permanently, BR got it with him (the cup was stolen or some other conspiracy theory hahaha) but 1970 was the last time of Jules Rimet cup

This. That's a really cool video.
We want to debate who the goat between Ronaldo and Messi was but nobody ever talks about Pele🐐. He is the true goat.

Bro the debate has always been Maradona vs Messi vs Pelé, only Ronaldo fanboys put him in the debate.
@@frezzyy7454 Ronaldo definitely is in the debate.

During the Biafran civil war in my country Nigeria in the 1960s ...pele caused a cease fire between both because everyone wanted to see him playing 🤣
