What about seniors who have no interest in golf? Developers are hung up on the concept that everyone is from the same mold and like golf.
Yes I’d rather have indoor warmer pools for us to stay healthier to exercise , and no skin cancer.
i totally agree, im interested in organic gardens, crystal digging and nature, i dont give two hoots for golf..lol
I live in pelican preserve in florida...it has the 27 hole golf course but also the three pools, one indoor for fun year round, hot tubs, saunas etc...the downside of more things is the need for more homes to cover the hoa's, we have 2500 homes so about $15m in house for landscaping, maintaining and things to do...its a trade off, you want more, you pay more.
@@sherrie9241 we have a nature garden and a nationally auderbon walk you can walk on but also got cart on where I have seen bald eagles on..itsnot just golf, infact im not even a member of the golf club, there are so many more things.
I live in a community that has two courses and I don't pay the extra fee for golf.
First thing I noticed about these communities : They have so much space between houses. Much more than what I've seen in other communities.
Its true, tons of green space!

Are there any in Maitland area?
OMG! These are ridiculously high for seniors on fixed income.
$150,000 -$300,000 is ridiculously high? I don't know where you live, but where I live you can't get an outhouse for that.
I can buy a palace in FL for what I can sell my average home for in MA. Where do you live that you think these are $$$?
@@francesdinicola6669 Here, in Howard County, Maryland where I live, the MEDIAN cost of a single-family home is $472,000. The average cost of new construction is about $900,000!
@@MarkM58
My apologies. The question was for Betty Acres. My condo in MA will probably go for $365,000-$375,000. Monthly fee is $369. It’s pretty pricy up here.
@@francesdinicola6669 that is about what condos go for here, too. I think she lives in a farm out west. Different world out there.
Mom did a good job raising the young man! He is a cutie!!
Thank you for the video on reasonably priced homes. Not all seniors have $350K+ to purchase a home. We were in the military and moved 8 times in 20 years, and could never build enough equity to afford to buy in a retirement home community. It would be nice if you did more videos on homes that were in the low to mid $100K price range. Home prices are inflated right now, so we will have to wait until the market adjusts again.
Thank you for your service to our country. ❤
I've been enjoying your videos and appreciate this one that shows you don't need a fortune to live in a nice community.
I’d love to see more videos like this of more affordable options. I’m a retired teacher and my husband will be a retire pastor. Living in church patronage’s leaves us high and dry when it comes to available equity. Eventually we will need a home for retirement. We’d love to move to Florida and the 55+ communities have so much to offer. I’ve heard that there are some really nice ones that even have manufactured homes that are attractive options.
@Doreen Moore. Good luck on that one. Florida is getting to be expensive. There are still some places, but not many
It’s gotten crazy here.. for manufactured homes lot rentals on top of buying is outrageous. It is no longer affordable to spend $140k and $700 a month. That is insane. But there are other options and with time they will be okay as things start normalizing. People are just being greedy right now
Love it. Penbrooke Fairways is my Favorite, although it's the More expensive of the 3, although NOT expensive. It has a Workout Room and has so much to offer. Trees, Love! Gated, Very Good!!
Enjoy you two together so much! Your mother/ son dynamic is so truly heartwarming. The hug he gave you midway through the video just got me... ❤️. To he information here has been so helpful for my new search! Thank you!
So cute..mother son ..your son actually wants to work with you..lol
This is beautiful especially the houses and there's so much to do and I love how you hugged your mom show us mobile home love y'all 💖🤗
It’s shocking how high homes are now. It’s a serious issue. Most Young families and seniors can’t afford it.
Right, I don't need golf courses or pools but I would love a library and a great place to walk. Don't want to go to Florida. WIll they show places in other states.
Some folks don't care about golf or clubhouses. No fences! UGH
FENCES MAKE GREAT NEIGHBORS! 😉
Would like to have seen all the types of homes in the community-tiny home, manufactured home etc
Pembroke looks like a tremendous deal for the $$$$
the two of you are so lucky to work together. Mom is cool and Jay Michael is learning fast from a real pro.
Love this video! So nice to see more affordable options for 55+. Thanks.....keep the great info coming!😎
Very good video,so much info. Will look forward to more locations..Thankyou much.
Thank you, this was a really good video, a lot of good intel.!......
You two are great together. Very articulate and both quite attractive! Helpful information as well.
Great video again. I had no idea that communities in that price range existed. Thank you for showing us we have options. Who is doing the video editing? You are putting some time into these videos. The background music is perfectly timed and for me, really adds to create a different feeling for each property. Great camera work for headshots, rule of thirds, transitions, slow and fast motion and the Mavic 2 makes it all so magic. A joy to watch, keep it rollin! Thanks
I think that Palm Cay seemed to be the most neighborly and reasonably priced for the features offered.Even though the first one you visited and showed with your mother was extremely nice and just a bit higher priced but it also was a little nicer area and gated.Thank you for showing these communities, because this is making it much easier for my husband and I which will be coming from California so we are trying to find just the right spot to retire and with all your hard work and due diligence it makes our job so much easier,so again THANK YOU !
Pennbrooke Fairways homes looks great especially for someone like me since I live in NYC but wanting a house for a long winter months to get away as a snowbird. Also, HOA includes internet and having the lawn mowed, it's much better deal than the Villages. I'm not into golfing or socializing with other gizzards so it's a perfect for me. I know your website and once I visit the area, I'll contact you to be my agent. It'll be all cash deal for fast closing sometime next year when I call quits to the rat race. Love your videos.
Here in Newport News, VA my HOA only covers the pool, gym, meeting room, and ground & exterior maintenance for about $200+ a month, everything else comes out of my pocket. It would be nice if cable and internet were included because Verizon FiOS is outrageous like another car payment.
The communities you showed are very nice and would have no problem living there, just have to wait another year when I'm old enough to meet minimum requirements.
Hi, nice video. I was just wondering if you could do a video of lower priced homes/communities, perhaps w Mobile Homes in 55+ types locations, plz? Thx
I really like palmclay no. 1 choice and spruce creek no. 2 choice very nice ty for sharing
My favorite of this group is Pembrooke Fairways. A few reasons- smaller lots, they cut the grass and location close to the villages. Great job! Thanks!
Very cool vid! Thanks to you and your Mom and Russ! We will be emailing you and calling the office for more information. Looking forward to relocating into a clean area of safety, tranquility, peace, quiet, and beautiful surroundings with friendly people!
Great info, thanks! I'm debating Villages or not at this point, leaning to outside it now.
I wish more places had community gardens. We have golf and tennis here where I am at but I don't play either. Also it would be nice to have a place to store a kayak or very small boat to enjoy the Florida waters that are everywhere.
Robb .... Time for a move
Rob why would you move to a 55 and older spot when you don't play golf or tennis
Interesting...Keep up the good work.
Hi! I'm watching from Scotland. We don't have places like this. We don't have the acreage...or the weather!!
I'd love to live in any of them 😍
Liked this video and subscribed.. I am in the central Florida area. Show some communities here as well.
All really lovely. I would have liked to to see more of the inside of houses, but must difficult if they are occupied.
Great video! super well done!
I think 1st was best but most expensive. 2nd was second best based on amenities, but third had maybe nicer surroundings. Overall, I'd say 2nd represented by far the best value for money and also had a guard on the gate. But, if you're going to then have to pay for golf course fees/membership, the first one becomes by far the best value.
Excellent video! Thank you. What date were these proced on? That would be vital info to your video....
Thank you so much for sharing these videos. When I reach out to various 55+ communities in Florida I get the following email saying under Oregon Real Estate Agency law they are unable to provide me with any information. Is that common? Seems unfair!
Great information thanks
The ping pong game was the best!! LOL! love your channel!
Love all 3 communities, and agree that it seems like if you golf Pembrook is a strong choice.
Did the other two include the lawn maintenance in the HOA fees? Didn't hear you mention it, and since you said it in the 1st community, should cover it in all.
Maybe the reason the 2nd and 3rd didn't have any houses on the market is because the folks have definitely found their happy place.
I didn't notice any fence lines in any of the communities, are they allowed? What about any pet restrictions? I did notice a German Shepherd being walked, do they allow tie outs if not fences? For dog lovers, that something to mention also.
6our videos do give me something to talk to the wife about, she's leaning towards Arizona, but the housing seems more affordable in Florida, if we could stand the humidity 😀
Lawn wasn’t included in the 2 Ocala neighborhoods. I don’t think any allow fencing.
Arizona is awesome! Hopefully we can make it out there for some community videos :)
Just subscribed to your channel!! 😊
As soon as Mom leaves Micheal gets distracted by horseshoes and the piano! Well done!
I really liked Palm Cay. I would like to find a community that has smaller homes, low HOA, central FL or north
Well done. Here in sun city grand in surprise az. Hoa 's go up too much and also required to pay off- grounds clubhouse major complex, tennis courts etc.etc area not gated . In other words these places you are showing are better deal for same age construction. If you ever show multi floor condo places warn about water leaks from floors above. Have dealt with one too many extremely damaging insurance claims. Were moving.
I think I’d like this community for us. I’m concerned though for old homes built on a slab with old plumbing.
Pennbroook Fairways does not include golf membership in the $217. There are several membership types for golf. Also When you buy a home there it includes ownership of a portiion of the properties, so while you don't own the land directly under your home, you are a member owner of the property. (hence only $217/mo for HOA fee)
You don't have to pay for the golf unless you play and there are usually lots of other stuff to do. And you can also start a group if you want.😁
This is from 3 months ago so wondering how different the home prices are since all the hyperinflation in homes
I needed to see this vid.... we are looking for the best place to live out retirement.
Wow thank you for the review. I’m not sure how long or if my wife and I can relocate. I’d love to move yesterday, but realistically I would have to sell my home here in New York City. Although that would not really be a problem. The real problem I have is with my wife’s job. She was working from home about 60 % of the time before the Pandemic. Now for the past two years she has been working from home 100% of the time. Her job has not as of yet given her permission to work from far away IE: Tennessee. I am already retired I am about to be 58 years old and my wife is 51 years old. Also her parents live with us and I must buy with them in mind also. So there you have it I am playing a waiting game. I will contact you as soon as this is resolved; I want out of NYC so bad I can taste it.
Great video lots of information how much do the taxes and interest rates range on these houses
Great piano playing.
Great finds . More please. Further south if you can.
Nice LOVE the drone
Nice video, wish you were in my area! Just a suggestion... In your intro, please say what city/state these communities are in. People who watch RUclips on their TV's have no idea unless they go to the computer and look you up (me for example).
All you have to do is pull down the description box below the video. All the info is there!
Can you suggest a monthly condo rental in Florida walking distance to shops and restaurants with a pool and short drive to the beach? Looking for February 2023 .
Hello , Very very Nice! Thank you
Thank you for watching!
sounds good
wanna take a look.
Love the dynamic with Mother and Son... I am just researching the possibility of the 55+ communities. Does it mean you pay your 175K (approx) then your 100monthly for the property and that's it or is there a lease for the land charge on top of it? I am confused.
Do you know of any reasonably priced 55+ with RV parking at the home? This would be a great video to do.
The videos are well done. Excellent production quality!
We have rv parking justbalong from our gates, very cheap rv rates and only i think about a 2 year wait...I. thinking $20-$30 a month if I recall right.
Tanglewood in Sebring
No fenced-in back yards for my baby Chihuahua. HOA is great. House prise is also appealing.
We have to take care of our Chihuahuas!😁
U can have a portable fence in circle put next to house not so ugly… dog is small! Doesn’t need acres!
Can you guys some videos about "On Top of The World" retirement community it seems to be really had to find info that is up to date if anything. Thank you.
Damn!! Expensive!! My home cost 64,000 for 1000 sq ft. Lot rent 780 includes water trash sewer lawn care snow removal maintenance and HOA fees along with all the amenities. Pool, dog park, fishing pond, craft room, work shop, gym exercise room, clubhouse, card rooms, billiards room, movie theater, 5 miles of walking trails. Many many activities including men's club and women's club.
How about some of the mobile home parks in Lake County. A few have monthly fees as low as $25/35 per month.
First time watching your channel, great information. But could not finish your video, too much of the rapid zooming. But thumbs up on the drone shots.
You 2 are great on camera.....very natural.....I bet you will gain a lot of customers from these.....
How well everything is arranged. America is a country for people.
Hello beloved
Love it.
Love them all, could live in anyone of these communities, but would like to know if I could put up an antenna nothing to large as I'm a ham opetator.
Awwww ;D Sweet relationship between you and mom
Thanks for this great video, love the energy and information. Enjoyed the ping-pong, horseshoes and piano! Best wishes from 🇬🇧 UK. Keep up the great work 👍.
Once was enough for me!If you believe this is affordable you better look in to The Florida mobile home act 723.000
Nice arial, land level, and house interior videos. Please add lot sizes to house SF and prices. I like the country. So those postage stamp size lots are not for me.
What's the difference between a Villa and Single Family when looking at HOA fees? Does single family = a condo or duplex??
opinion-wise, what have you seen as the most desirable spot if you had to pick a top 5? Just watched villages.... an interesting college-type atmosphere with a lot of silver flowing.
J Michael here 😇 These are all over the place so sorry about that.
1. Pelican Preserve Fort Myers
2. Del Webb Nocatee
3. Lakes of Mount Dora
4. Del Webb Sunbridge
5. The Gatherings at Lake Nona
This is tough because these are all awesome communities and I could see myself living in the areas they are located and really enjoying that. It depends a lot on your personal lifestyle!
Interesting. When you do these videos you would like to understand that International communites could be watching these videos and would like to know where you're talking about for example what country, what state.
That’s all in the drop-down description box.
Quick question: What about lease price? Thank you!
Do you have any senior apartments near Jacksonville,Fl? I don’t want to move back there but we’re getting older and need to be closer to family. I also have a daughter in LaBelle either one
I liked the first community the best.
Interested in ROC with little to no HOA such as Hammock Estates in Sebring....are there any other places like this? Hammock is way over pricing their homes that are 40+ yrs old its ridiculous
Thankyou for a very informative video. How much are the tiny houses?
Low 100's in Pennbrooke :) Feel free to email us if you want us to send you homes that are available.
Really great community and nice people. Question: do these 55 and older communities allow a couple unmarried or married where one partner is 55 and the other 35 to 45 years old?
Some have a rule that at least one adult per house meets the age requirement. Some I think require both partners to meet the age requirement.
That is beautiful but what about if I'm not interested on buying but living in 55+ communities affordable without a car close to commercial areas hospital n public transportation?!!
Dont care about all these pools and golf courses. Just a nice house and yard affordable near Sac, Rancho or Folsom CA. Lot rents keep rising and hardly any available on market.
Carmen, I don’t think you will ever find this price in California the taxes are to high.only way you will get something this cheap and nice is to move out of California. I don’t think you know this but lot of people are leaving California now due to high taxes.
@@alfreda2711 Not just that, but high rents and housing prices as well.
Are there any 55+ that cater specifically to the disabled? we don't like golfing, or tennis or crafting or ping pong.
We love our animals, having our families staying for a few days, shopping, restaurants, Bingo.
At 44 I was able to buy in central Florida 55+ and ended up selling and now at 49 ready to move back to one, but want something cheaper lock up and go.. so have started to look.
Let us know if we can help! Hello@Explore55Plus.com 😀
I just found your sight. Will you be going to North Port Charlotte, Punta Gorta, or North Fjt. Meyers?
This is fantastic, thanks. But what can you tell us about crime in Ocala? I read it is the 11th most dangerous city in Florida with 493 violent crimes and 2,548 property crimes in 2022. The gated part sounds great, but what happens when you go outside of the gates?
Hi Greg! Fair Housing laws prohibit us from discussing things like crime, sorry about that!
Great Video. I caught that Pembroke cuts grass. Did Not catch whether the other two also cut grass or not. Would be important to me. Please let me know. Thanks.
They didn’t include it in the 2 Ocala neighborhoods.
@@Explore55Plus Thank you so much for your quick response! Have a safe day! HUGS
You forgot to mention that Leesburg has the 5th highest crime rate in the state
Pembrook was the best, do you have anything a little closer to hospitals or to town
Hi paul here in England , great video , very informative . Could I live there ? I’m 55 years young , I really want to live here with my partner . Could you please advise ? Very kind regards
Do you have vids on rentals,??? Houses, senior apts or condos????
Did I miss the "why" part of this "Why are these communities so cheap?" video? It's amazing that they are, but I was curious WHY?, because even places like the Villages are really cheap compared to the rest of the country 55+ communities at least in my area and they are no where near as nice as these
Any updates on available homes in any of these communities? What about pets? Thanks
Please review Oak Run for us. Thanks!
Hello beloved
The hesitancy is they can always raise the rents. Any communities where you own the lot?
All three of the communities we showcased above.
I think 55 and over communities first started because many landlords did not want to rent to people age 50 and above. They saw people aged 50 and over as disposable, meaning they were the first demographic to lose their jobs, they saw older renters as people who are constantly complaining about everything. Sadly because of these old stereotypes about seniors (although 55 is still not a senior citizen) is none of those stereotypes are true, and a landlord can no longer chose to not rent to a senior citizen, gay person, someone with section 8, someone who had children, or someone who is not a certain ethnicity...there are now laws against this. But about 30 years ago a lot of landlords would discriminate tenants from renting based on these things.
Penbook Fairways seemed nice because it had golf.
you son is so handsome.... would love to be buddies+ when I move there. great info. I will call you guys when I am ready to buy.
Those places are certainly affordable but a bit old and 55+ does not show Pembrook. Can u put list the places you visit in the description
I thought so too. I'm 54 and started looking on here and online and feel I'm not going to fit in. I'm not retired. Not planning to for some time. I'm a single female that feels this would be a good place to live. Maybe meet someone. I'm not sure how this would work for me.
