I've used 5GB of 10 it says "your plan doesn't support mobile tethering" I always get the 55 unlimited

try reset network setting
I called with the same issue. I used 11.5 of 15 gb. they said I've used all of my hotspot data up and have to renew plan for more. Last month I used 14.8 of 15 with no issue. It doesn't make sense
I've gotten the same message. They said I have to wait for my renewal date for the hotspot to work again. My renewal date is 2 days from now so we'll see what happens. I have my doubts
So basically, straight talk sucks

It would have helped if you would show and tell me how. Yes. I'm sure people understand the concept of over using your data, but can you please show more information regarding setting up your hotspot using the 55 dollar plan.
They recently bumped it up to 15G hotspot for the $55 plan, mine capped out a 9.91GB and they're basically saying it used all 15GB and saying it doesn't update in real time(it does, I've watched it) so ofc they're not doing anything about it but saying "I soddy, but I hab no deta"
I used most of my hotspot data last month this month I only used under 2gbs and the hotspot stopped working
I've ran 88 gb on my Hotspot and it still works it's weird

I got the 20 GB of hotspot which is the 65 and usually last me all month with my son gaming day and might so he doesn't know much
It's funny because I just put your video on to see why my hotspot was not working and while I was watching your video I turn it on and it started working. I had purchase the 60 dollar plan and it wasn't working and it took a while for it to work.
Just got a straight talk hotspot and wat a pain-in-the-ass it's going right back. I was using the hotspot from my phone which has straight talk service as well I've used almost $300 on this brand new phone and a new hotspot just to run a Chromecast and it won't even do that this is ridiculous later straight talk! I'm going back to Verizon jetpack.

I 55 dollar plan and it says my plan doesn't support mobile tethering but I know it does. I called straight talk and they told me it's because of my phone. I have Moto g7 optimo Maxx. They said Motorola has to send an update to my phone. That was yesterday and I'm still waiting and it's still not working.
Any updates on this? I'm currently struggling with this but they keep sending me to the normal "Higher technical department" where my call is usually just dropped or the more infuriating "Give me minute or two to update your phone" but then you can hear the guy crunching on chips watching tv like wtf? Today was the best one yet all he did was hear my problem and said ok I'll send you to the higher technical department, he didn't even send me to the automated message he just hung up thanks MARK!🤣
What did I miss how do I turn it on when it keeps saying failed failed failed I figured it was a hell no when I started cyberpunk and had to hoof my broadband up!
$65. I couldn't even connect my PS. Less than 1 Mbps download speeds.
Literally just added air time and I go turn my hotspot I get a message that says my plan does not support mobile tethering I'm using the 65$ plan that has 20 gb called them they told me to turn the phone off and back on again and still same problem....

Brand new phone hasn't been 2weeks and I can't get more Hotspot they only gave me 15gb and they say they don't have add ons nothing over the phone unless u willing to pay them on the spot for your full service again
I think you may be missing a main problem. I used to be able to pirate unlimited hotspot thru straight talk via having a BYOP Sim for AT&T to have access to their towers which are the dominant provider in my area. At&t are being pieces of SHIT and not allowing it off of their towers so the entire hotspot from straight talk was Supposed to not work. However on unlocked phones via the BYOP sim for At&t phones / tower access they failed to block the hotspot from coming on for at Least Galaxy models 8 and up...Until about a month ago when i took a software update that, I'd bet my entire month's wages, just so happened to include the missing fuckery files necessary to render my hotspot useless completely to the extent of being able to connect to it and receive "Connected With No Internet Connection" on any device that i connected. So Now even tho there Truly is a 65$ plam they offer with 20 gigs of hotspot, my At&t sim is officially unable to receive the benefits of hotspot from it because since At&t won't just shake hands like every other provider did with Straight Talk...Straight Talk can't Monitor, Throttle, Cut Off, or Provide their own hotspot benefits so of course they do what apparently legally they Have to do and completely block all of us using BYOP At&t Sims from having the capability to any further cause whatever "Leaks" we were putting in their giant asshole shaped container they keep their Internet in...Have you heard of 4G LTE Routers by any chance? They allegedly can take a prepaid plan's "Unlimited Internet" and mock the phone with trivial options being selected, and just hotspot whatever you want or even connect Hard Wire connection if you get one with ports for it.
Mobile plan doesn't support mobile tethering and JUST bought the platinum for 20 gigs. The cap is supposed to be 60 I believe and I'm at 20 this month wtf I have galaxy a51
Also, not all phones support the hdmi out option
They have a new plan now I use. It gives 20 gigs a month. A n.v d if you didnt know already there are ways to hide your data usage from straight talk and most carriers without rooting your phone.

Right how? I bought a hot spot while my home WiFi is being repaired and I think I ate up the 5gigs I bought for $50 already in one night 🥴😩😅..... I’m going to upgrade to the 20 gig plan but wow I wish I had known how to hide my usuage 😅🤗.... I’m thinking twice about taking this thing on a road trip now Bc if I can’t stream games or Netflix what good is this thing 😒
If you ran out of gb’s on your hotspot but not your data and you add airtime will the gb refill the hotspot or do I have to wait until my data restarts?

Straight talk is junk, we bought the moxee hotspot never works! Never again

It is against straight talks policy. Plus with online gaming it would use 10 or 15 GB (the max) in a day or so. Many have tried. Straight talk blocks users from the hot spot if the system detects it.
Add "DUN" to apn type...all capitalized and set authentication type to "none"...it works...did this last night with authentication set to PAP and it reverted...won't let you add dun unless it's capitalized
It doesn't allow adding dun to the APN type!

My Wi-Fi is simply not working between the me and my girlfriend's phones We have the same data plan you mentioned, and we have different brands of phones. It still does not work we even called straight talk and it still has nothing to fix. It has nothing to do with anything you're talking about in the video. It's simply does not work. After we turn it on it turns itself back off. It's not about connecting to gaming devices or using lots of Wi-Fi It simply doesn't work from the get go

That would still fall into the same category I think. I think some of those updates are 10 gb.
@@Gonewithjon oh ok so how long do you think that would last I’ve just saved up enough money for a iPhone 12pro and I can use hot spot now I used to have a 6s and I recently got cyberpunk and it needs a update because it’s buggy idk if you have seen videos of it or got the game your self but I only have like a little bit left on the download but I had to leave my friend house who had WiFi do you think it would work long enough to finish it
@@krishuan1368 automatic updates use how many gigs?
@@wanakin7 it goes by time so as long as you update what you want then turn it off it should go slow but if you leave it on it will eat up your data you can check how much you have used by going to setting and cellular
I've used hotspot for years gaming uses hardly any data it's updates and streaming I play all month on 10g of data online

I use my hotspot for gaming and use it all month playing so that information is false that it runs up 10 gb of hotspot in acouple of mins it barely uses it now if you try to update a game it uses way more but playing does not use it all in acouple of mins

Yea I agree with Alex I been using hotspot with straight talk for 6years $65 plan I use firesick when I need to roku tv and my Samsung tablet whenever I need to transfer data to them from my hotspot data...and I have a ps4 and ps3 and Xbox 1 service act up at time when it's a storm comming but it's better for the price and it been working for me from a cheap phone from Dollar General they finally said I needed to upgrade but straight talk work...
