@@thomasreilly6362 I actually don't think most will , people will just keep what they have. The younger generations have little interest in cars no matter what the power source ....so the auto industry is pretty much doomed ( good or bad).
Irish EV car sales have collapsed, down 24% in the 12 months to end 2024, while sales of petrol and diesel cars have risen. Dealers have used EVs on their lots that they just can’t sell, e.g., a 2022 Tesla Model 3 for sale for €20,000, less than half its new price and still cannot find a buyer. Most dealers will not take EVs as trade ins. And yet the move to electrification is still being pushed by the environmental lobby who want more grants to buy EVs (why do they need incentives if they’re so good?🙄), more taxes on ICE cars etc etc.

All the unissued coins at the end of the campaign, found themselves into the steel plant scrap bay as scrap and from there he brought me home several full sets for me and my mates. I worked there later also, for 35 years, from 16. Another industry knackered by net zero these days, whilst the Chinese laugh at us and take all our business.
A friend of mine went to a Ford main dealer to buy a Ranger and was told they couldn't give him a build date or delivery date at the moment, so he said he was also thinking of a Mustang EV, ( He wasn't but just wanted to find out if they could supply one of those). The salesman went into supersales mode and checked the availability for the spec my friend asked for and as luck would have it they had one available... delivery time....3 days. My friend said he would think about it and the sales guy immediately offered the vehicle at a massive discount and was clearly desperate to make a sale.
Thank you. I'm just wondering, as we enter a recession in 2025, how will the company supported purchases of EVs hold up? If manufacturers struggled to sell 22% EVs last year, how are they going to sell 28% this year?

The whole ev market is just a novelty right now and will be like the delorean hype in the 80s in 5 or 6 yrs they will be a thing of the past there just not the answer!
My Dad told me one day "Your Grandfather Hated the Jews", he was born in an Upholsterer and Decorators shop in Pimlico in 1897, Orphaned at the age of seven with four only just older siblings so his friend's Mum took him in until he was "Gifted" to an Orphanage in Scotland. He came back when he was fifteen and stayed with his sister who'd married a Barber with a shop on Ealing Bridge. He must have seen a shocking change at that time, The Jews fleeing europe had taken over all the shops and probably the one he remembered as home, I'm sure we can understand his resentment, possibly the largest influx of people since the Heugenots. My Dad never had a bad word to say about anyone, Black Green Blue or Pink, he liked the Germans after his National Service there and he was the best used car salesman you could ever have met, he wouldn't buy Fords, Vauxhall or German cars, he said they were only ever worth what you had to pay for them, they were like "Currency". If I've seen one Renault 4 I've seen a thousand and Barrie, my sister's first car was a Citroen Ami with clothes pegs on the choke.
When a Buyer buys a car which is SUBSIDISED does the MANUFACTUTER / SELLER claim the subsidy back from the Government in some way...!!!. To mitigate the aleged LOSS .
I just bought a BEV not to save the planet but because it made sense for me. Pre registered with huge discount and suits my needs. I've been a fan of EV's for years purely for the way they drive but only just now bought one because financially it couldn't be beaten.
@marks-0-0 unfortunately they don't stop depreciating, just because you bought one. My next door neighbour bought a 19 reg I pace well within 12 months ago for £29k. It can be bought on auto trader for slightly over £17k now. That is £1k per month. I daren't broach the subject to him, it would probably upset our relationship ?
It's going to be a interesting year how on earth are they going to sell even more EVs than last year while the so-called used market is flooded with cheap cars, they still can't move except to other dealer to inflate the numbers. Down here in Australia the manufactures are doing the same thing loaning out new EVs to anybody, but most people still have a ICE car in the garage in case they need to travel more than a few kilometers up the road. It seems to me most of these EV angelist have trouble reading numbers they seem to be only able to read percentages anything with more than 100 or without a % after it becomes too complicated to apprehend. Maybe a graph with some pictures might help them ⛷i.e. someone skiing down a hill and ending up in a snow plough.
But EVs sold like hotcakes in December 2024 did you not look at the figures massive increases in EV sales almost 20%.... Sorry nearly fell off my chair trying to keep a straight face

For a retired couple with solar PV and just need a car to do the weekly shop, they would be silly having anything other than a EV. Anyone else would just be silly.
That’s the point, it works for you but doesn’t work for me, so why are we forced by 2030 only EV sales? What they should do is ban cars with engines over 2.0l by 2030.

EV market share is just going to go up and up from here, 2028/29 EV will be the most popular category in new cars. The latest small EVs under 20k are coming this year and more and more models are coming out. Development has pretty much stopped on ICE engine technology and mainstream is going down the hybrid route in the short/medium term and fully electric for long term. Hydrogen is dead now as is diesel for new cars.
Sorry to burst your bubble but EV sales volumes continue to grow worldwide albeit at a slower rate. The biggest myth is that the negative experiences of a very small percentage EV owners are common with all EV owners. The biggest growth worldwide is coming from anti EV channels such as this where they have realised that EV fear can be monetised on YT. All this going on while actual EV owners continue to count their savings whilst getting a laugh reading the factually incorrect comments of the uninformed who have zero actual EV ownership experience. There's a simple answer to your fear...don't buy one.
Well I am sorry to burst your bubble, you are wrong, but I am afraid that’s what members of the EV cult do, they generalise and point to the future without providing facts, it’s all just guesswork, you haven’t got a clue what will happen in the future, how could you, however I know what’s happening here and now, so until you get your crystal ball calibrated it’s probably best to keep quiet, as all you are doing is musing people who know what they are talking about😂

Love Germany, very efficient ways the German people probably why they haven't fell hook line and sinker for the EV rhetoric.
Don't forget, half these kids you're "Arguing" the toss with didn't exist during your anecdote and wouldn't be doing for another 40 years, if they were around they were toddling round with snot running down their faces and a sh**ty nappy hanging off their ankle.
George Wriggleys, remember it and him well
His son Phil
The two brothers were, Bob and Terry. The petrol station is next to our garage the former Fort Motor Co.
@rayhamer2595 oh sorry, I thought you meant the old one at the bottom, I worked next door, we bought the Esso station eventually, after Bob and Terry moved to Kent street garage 😂
👍
When a Buyer buys a car which is SUBSIDISED does the MANUFACTUTER / SELLER claim the subsidy back from the Government in some way...!!!. To mitigate the aleged LOSS .
They just bump up the price. "How much is this EV?" "£35,000 Sir" "What about the £5000 subsidy?" "Errm, sorry, did I say £35,000. I meant £40,000"
Only because the value is plummeting. Be worthless by 2026.
But the milk float sales where only 19.6% wtay short of the target. Evangelist,s are very quiet about this.
I saw that article too, utter tosh. You reminded me of Shell coins I totally forgot
I used to collect those coins and also the foil football club badges. I bought a set of badges on eBay recently
Brilliant
The number of unsold Brand New Porsche Taycans on Autotrader 😯
0:36 more specifically…it was the last time it was an English team
I got those coins I remember them well We had a dark green ford escort
My grandad absolutely loathed russians...
Great analogy Barrie, but the Gov/EU and shills are like a biased Referee constantly on the side of a crap team.
Happy days,🐸
It's pointless polishing your EV because it will be worthless by the time you've finished.
😊
Ev sales 18% last year. Mostly lease. 😂😂
But EVs sold like hotcakes in December 2024 did you not look at the figures massive increases in EV sales almost 20%....
Sorry nearly fell off my chair trying to keep a straight face
its sad isnt it
crikey barrie this is supposed to be a car show. that was like watching ron manager - boys playing football in the park, jumpers for goalposts etc. etc. . lets stick to slagging EVs
More sales fornchinese made vehicles then..
First ya bas
Great video Barrie
Glad you enjoyed it
What ever happened to Betamax?? 😂😂😂
Evening BC.
Evening
1966 goal excerpts much louder than your verbal audio.
Sorry
Don’t fall for Stupid Electric, drive a real car
For a retired couple with solar PV and just need a car to do the weekly shop, they would be silly having anything other than a EV. Anyone else would just be silly.
That’s the point, it works for you but doesn’t work for me, so why are we forced by 2030 only EV sales? What they should do is ban cars with engines over 2.0l by 2030.
@@PaulRendell-u1b You have been conditioned into believing A: We need to do something, and B: someone else has the right to tell you what you can, or cannot have.
Germans! How can you like Germans? Watch LR Time and see if you don't like Germans!
😂
The most successful nation in Europe. Especially with cars. We could learn a lot from the Germans.
@ Still learning from Germans! Watch LR Time! Then watch "Everything is a rich mans trick" Free on YT and you'll learn who destroyed Germany. Warning! It's three and a half hours long.
You do know that EV is not a fuel don’t you 😬
@benjibradshaw69 I've corrected it for you 😁
😂😂😂😂😂
Sorry to burst your bubble but EV sales volumes continue to grow worldwide albeit at a slower rate. The biggest myth is that the negative experiences of a very small percentage EV owners are common with all EV owners. The biggest growth worldwide is coming from anti EV channels such as this where they have realised that EV fear can be monetised on YT. All this going on while actual EV owners continue to count their savings whilst getting a laugh reading the factually incorrect comments of the uninformed who have zero actual EV ownership experience. There's a simple answer to your fear...don't buy one.
Well I am sorry to burst your bubble, you are wrong, but I am afraid that’s what members of the EV cult do, they generalise and point to the future without providing facts, it’s all just guesswork, you haven’t got a clue what will happen in the future, how could you, however I know what’s happening here and now, so until you get your crystal ball calibrated it’s probably best to keep quiet, as all you are doing is musing people who know what they are talking about😂
I hate football.
What a boring video.
Unsubscribed.
Barrie I very much like your channel but please stop with the over the top antics/acting you’ve started doing recently.
The facts are entertaining enough.
Sorry mate, that’s me, that’s who I am but thanks for watching, I understand if this was the last time though
Let's do as the government tells us to do! NetZero! EV private sales last year 10%! This year let's make it Zero!
