Great video as always. I’ve used one of these for work for 7 years and wouldn’t recommend. You’re spot on about the drivers seat support, and the materials used inside look and feel like they’re from the 1980s. Arm support is for show, and journeys further than local are punishing. The one I drive is a Trojan, which lacks torque at normal driving speeds - hills force down changes despite the short gearing.
I've got one of these, the 2.5 150hp model that was owned by a mine (i'm in Indonesia - when I bought it I didn't know) - ended up rebuilding most of it but it's easy to work on and a nice truck to drive.
Yes, let’s have some more pickups Phil. Loved the look of the front, until you put the wind deflector on, but that’s just personal choice. Keep the video’s coming 👍👍👍
I have had these for the past 30 years. L200 (high end ones) great vehicle . I use mine off road a bit ,quite good. Suspension is better than Toyota Hilux. My present 2017 model are much improved.
Great video Phil, and great work - just had a look online and you can really levy a premium for the milage alone Driven a few and agree on the seating position - alright for quick run rounds, but long-runs remind you why the Hi-Lux always wins ! Keep 'em comin'! Best, JCHK
Think mine had three engines till we decided to buy a ranger don't know if something was wrong with the coolant system and never got properly sorted first time all done under warranty I was told it was a faulty blocks from vw? Never ever had them again don't miss the squeaking either didn't even give it a hard life
Looks quite impressive for a truck but if its uncomfotable and agricultural to drive I reckon you would soon tire of it better off with something more refined and nicer to drive,
Hi Philip, I had a shogun and I am sure that you push the handle down on the side of the seat several times and the front of the seat goes either up or down?
Hi Phil, I thought you were keeping the Mercedes 350ML as your steam? Never really liked these trucks, but they seem popular. This one seems a bit blingy for a farmer, but you never know! Low miles, do a service and it should shift ok mate. Easy fix this one, when they do have issues though they are pricey to fix. 😱
Ideal for taking all your scrap down the recyclers., my son had one as company motor, not very good for family motor, 2 kid and dog, unless you have a cover for back no storage space.
Hello . Thank you for this video. I am an owner of a 2012 Mitsubishi L200 with an automatic transmission gear box. And here is the problem . As I am driving at a normal speed of 80 km/hour -55 miles/h , often stepping away from the gas pedal and let the car go due to traffic, then the car breaks suddenly 2 times and moves from the 4th gear to the second gear. After that it is stucked on the second and I cannot accelerate, the D indecator flashes, and the only way out is to pull over and switch off the engine and started again. Do you have an idea what is causing it ? Can anyone help ? Thank you
High Phil, I thought the big BMW you’ve not long finished was the replacement for the Jeep, or has that gone? I like the look of this but the seating isn’t the best 😣 Enjoying the projects, you seem to have no fear when it comes to the engines, I would be terrified and probably end up with more bits than I started with!
Nice project quick repair, but like usual u blabber on too too much, putting me to sleep, anyway we’ll done on the channel hope u build the channel up even further best wishes
@@SeriousAboutSalvage loads where taken to hospital by ambulance for a bad cold as bojo brainwashed every gullible fucker to joinhis plan.....it was the cold.....dont need to take a test for to say you have a cold as your body tells you

Had one of these as a works vehicle a few years ago.
Amazing bits of kit loved mine

I just found your channel. As an old retired autobody repairman, I think you found a very nice truck! Bill from Linglestown, Pennsylvania USA

the pickup look great think you should keep it they are so handy, it would be good to see more pickups or land rovers
Stay with your ML Phil. Nicer for the family
Great video phil and what a difference in such a short time without having to spend a lot of money
Nice one Phil like these quick flips. Can't wait for next. Thanks.
Will be a good earner that phil, sell it as it is, the tyres look well and alot of people prefer looks over driving comfort
Great job Phil you should keep it as your daily work truck 😀🏴
Nice job Phil 👍🏻, personally I would have my legs shortened to fit the seat 🙄 to keep that truck 😂, looks great and very street mean.
Nice bit of kit, proper work horse
This is one awesome looking pick up, I like it❤️.
Lovely pick up,mate has one and it’s never gave him any trouble in 4 years, looks great yours 👍
Nice truck Phil that wot ever one wots easy fix glad it's not a engine swop for you would like to see a few more pick ups on the channel!!!!!

The improvement over hilux is permanent 4x4. Other than that no contest.
I think you need to go down the landrover disco/ range rover route, probably the best happy medium for the family comfort & work horse!
Looks a great truck Phil, I've always liked the look of them but like you say not really practical for a daily.
Great video Phil, and great work - just had a look online and you can really levy a premium for the milage alone
Driven a few and agree on the seating position - alright for quick run rounds, but long-runs remind you why the Hi-Lux always wins !

Nice turnaround Phil, very agricultural now but will make a great builders or farmers truck for someone.
Loved the video Phil at some point can you try and get a Ford Ranger on the channel would love to see one of them on it keep up the good work
I’ve got a Toyota hilux invincible, great truck.
Sell with the wheels. They'll be a big selling point for us truck heads
Nice looks great! Good to see something different!!
Nice work .. I do like this truck .. I’d have it ! 👍😊
Nice one maty. Love these pickups 👍.. need to treat myself soon
Looks the business Phil 👌
Nice truck but they do drive terribly without a bed full of sand to settle it down. Great video
The warrior is looking good mate
Good motors mate we used one on fun fair do 200k all day long tow lovely
Nice pickup that, have you stopped saying what its cost you? I looked forward to that bit!
My bad, I had forgotten! I'll update on a video at some point 👍
If it sells well it could open up a new market for you, farmers where i live use them and even quite new ones are dented and scratched.
Hi Phil hope your well I think you need a wind deflector outside your unit!
Haha, yes deffinately!
Yeah Phil get more pick ups on the channel that one turned out nice
Nice job phil defo some more
Luv the pickup more please.
Looks Bob on. But if you don't feel comfortable then it's not right for you.
As you say if there is a market for them they could be a good one to make a bit of profit from. Will be interesting to see how easy it is to move on.

Great video mate 👌
The only drawback is, is it comes under commercial insurance.
Yep
Not a drawback. You can use your car no claims.

Hi Philip, I had a shogun and I am sure that you push the handle down on the side of the seat several times and the front of the seat goes either up or down?
I did try that, on this it only moves the back of the base up and down , not the front. Shame really, I like it otherwise
looks a nice truck Phil, but if I was you I would get a wind deflector on that bloody noisy roof🤫👍👏
Down side of living in the hills I'm afraid 🙂
Should look great when it's done

When it comes to cars, I'm a total nightmare, I want them all 😁
Love it Phil. 👍👍What a beast 👍👍😀😀
Keep it get some after market seats mate

Very nice 👍
You need to sort that roof out lol.
Ford Ranger dot/wildtrack more cred than Mitzi. Good decision😅
Good looking truck but not convinced with the bonnet deflector, perhaps if it were silver like the wheel arches..
Looks real nice good job 👍
Let us know how much
Just watched the video, is it camera angle or does the driver side front wheel look further back than the passenger side
Must be camera angle bud, the lens is a wide angle lens so it can get distorted around the edges

Cheers mate, I think you mean the jeep cherokee? I just don't like it off in honest, I'm so bad buying stuff, I want to keep them all haha
What stock have you got Phil & can you do a video for us pls
Great job as always how much is the mini ?
I'm at the point with the mini now that I'd probably give it away 😁
If it goes up for sale I’d be interested
You just need some onions? It looks like a French man at the front
Nice that phil what happened to all the recovery trucks you had mate ,you have more than the aa mate
Ha, one the clutch went, the other set on fire on me! Both went auction!
@@SeriousAboutSalvage you no what phil keep the good work comeing out on the tube fella
Good mpg but poor turning circle and not very much space in the back for passengers.
Aggresive......not another one using that word.....only aggresive thing about that pick up is the driver
is there a link where its for sale phil?
Hello mate 👍
What can they tow, 3.2 or 3.5 tonnes?
Have you decided to keep it?
Naa, it will get sold
how about something sporty for your next one.
What is the towing capacity of the L200's 🤔
2950kg I think mate
Sell it think you've got a lot of unfinished projects finish them then decide what you want for a dual purpose family vehicle
How much is the l200 likely to be
Sounds bloody windy
Hi buddy are u selling the l200 pick up if so how much buddy
Email me seriousaboutsalvage@gmail.com 👍
i am sure this will fly out of the door
Merc for towing and comfort in my book. Merc probably has more towing capacity.
It does yeah 👍
Ugly looking jeep, but each to their own 👍👍👍👍👍🇬🇧
Nice project quick repair, but like usual u blabber on too too much, putting me to sleep, anyway we’ll done on the channel hope u build the channel up even further best wishes
What sort of money do you need back for it Phil. Is it on the register
You lost me at covid. You had a cold.
Shame about the camera quality. The camera lense spoil it...
Camera quality? Shouldnt be an issue unless the lens was dirty, have you checked what resolution your RUclips was set on when you watched the video?
@@SeriousAboutSalvage resolution is fine but would b better if the concave/convex angel wasn't on.
Natural camera angels r better then trying to fit everything in
It's a No from me for your bra, mate 😀
Perfect for the wife 😉
Is this 1 for the wifey
Covid?
Oh u mean a bad cold
Don't think I was taken to hospital by ambulance because of a cold mate 🙂
