I've probably watch a couple of dozen of Gyles replays up to this point and this one is probably my favorite. Two commanders blowing up at exactly the same time is hard to top!
Very solid work from both Lainelas and Mr-Smith. First time I see Mr-Smith play, but it is always amazing how Lainelas while under a lot of pressure always suddenly gets a huge ass eco. Really solid player in any team game.
I really don't understand all this QQ from top team. T3 Aeon artillery does dot damage + aoe, exploding shield generators do aoe damage, exploding commanders do aoe damage, and they pilled all their shit together and expect it not to go all BOOM ?
Hey Gyle i was just watching some of your older casts and i found this one! Supreme Commander - FAF Cast 134 - Average Joes - Custom 4v4... with me :( It is a cast of a game you were a part of. I think it would be great if you could do some more casts of games you participate in. They make for very entertaining casts.
you can watch the arty shot move out of the map (top right) then it curves back in toward untouchables base but it landed on blue's commander. you could see the corrected shot a few seconds after before voodoo got sploded.
***** I watched that part on the cast a few times and then on the actual replay and saw no bug. The aeon arty shell does 2 ticks of 6000 damage as it is technically a DOT. When Koecher exploded, the shields were down, an emissary shell connected with both the t3 pgen and the ACU. The first 6000 damage did not explode the pgen, but the second tick did, causing both to explode as it was a total of 20000 damage(12k arty 8k pgen explosion vs 17k t3 aeon acu). Koecher was standing in the worst possible spot as he got killed by both the arty shot and the pgen explosion when neither would have done it seperately. Also watched the test game they did after and saw nothing to indicate the emissary behaving abnormally.
tGx Icy I watched the game and was just about to say this... but probably not as well as you already did :) . I remember Koecher being annoyed about it in chat afterwards though.
skwibble The Emissary can feel very strong because of its 2 stage damage. If the first 6k pops a shield, the second 6k hits whatever is underneath. When you surround one with t3 pgens for the rof bonus it becomes comparable to a mavor. (they actually do the same total damage per shell)
Yes, if you can ensure your base is well defended, t3 arty can be very useful. But only if you already hold a significant section of the field. Otherwise, some silly bugger will surround you with T2 Arty/PD and build up something to murder you with. Nice SAM usage. Hilarious but effective way to neutralize air. But again, only works if you hold the field.
acommunityofhermits There was one a few casts ago where someone from the bottom of setons on bottom lake flew to his enemy's ridge and built a base there. He held it for a long time.
it feels like every video I've watched so far these players think it's a good idea to send their ACUs out far into the map. This makes no sense to me. it's like "yea I'm going to send the most important unit out into the middle of the map with no support whatsoever and if it dies I loose but oh well I'm just going to sit out here being an easy target." I don't know why people think that this is a good idea, whenever I play my Acu is as far away from the action as it can be making improvements and upgrading itself not in the middle of the battlefield.
it doesn't matter if he is or not, he's a high value unit, without him you loose the game, that would be like sending the captain of a ship in a rowboat out to meet the enemy. tactically it makes no sense and every one of these videos I see these players just throw their ACU away and because of that they get killed early on.
I would say it IS an inadequacy of a commander if they think sending their high value unit out in the middle of nowhere without support is the best thing to do. it's cool if they're playing Annihilation where you have to kill every single unit of the enemy to win but anything other than that is just really pointless to throw your ACU out onto an unmapped field for some mass. At least scout the area first.
UbinTimor Ubin, no offense, but i guess it is pretty obvious you are not in the better bracket of players then, by not using your commander offensively(on smaller map that is) you almost automatically give up alot of map control, simply beacuse the opponents commander will have a party eating your T1 units while he can save his own.

you ARE the BEST for supreme commander ATTA BOY!!
Why you wrotte in video that t3 arty shot was bugged? it just hit the pgen when koecher power was out and shields were down, thats it. no bugs...
That was awesome. That T3 arty shot hahahaha!

Voodoo is my favorite FA player!
This was GOOD game. Indeed. Intense pro-players match. GG!
What exactly does it mean when Aeon T3 ART "Bugged Out" ? Please explain...

Correction upon further investigation it turns out the Arty is NOT bugged out!

please do some of those survival maps, they're so fun with the mods like blackops...
also, the "I kill you with my face" line made me laugh so hard

33:04 Event Horizon reference, I like you Gyle
great Cast, Good Game,
BTW Is Untouchable same guy as the guy called "Unconquerable" back in GPGnet ?
Gyle I'd love to see you and Aulex do a duel cast.
Floating ball?
I realised with "Does that ball remind anyone else" what it looked like!
I want to watch this but I have a paper due in 2 hours !! Why do you make me chose!! You know I have to chose this!!!
Finish your paper first and ill give you a shout out in an upcoming cast.
***** I finished my paper but have to go to class!! Must. Watch. ASAP!!
Finally finished class and can get some AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!!!
Gyle quoting a GC: "I will kill you with my face!", sent shivers down my spine. My ex-wife's mother-in-law used to say that to me too.
Awesome Eddie Izzard impersonation @ 43:10
I've aways wondered how this map played, having only seen it in the lobby; never joining the game.
Is this balance testing?
Gyle you like those games where all Cybrans bite the dust, dont you?
BTW as I saw a dead ASF killed the last anti-nuke.
how do u get FAF?
Unrelated question, but is Galactic War still going on?
I think it is, but almost no one plays it. It might not be going on though.
That was ILL! Good game. Good Cast.
i wonder when i will be casted
Do a com drop, everyone loves com drops.
or a 6v6 setons
acommunityofhermits There was one a few casts ago where someone from the bottom of setons on bottom lake flew to his enemy's ridge and built a base there. He held it for a long time.
i remember that one that was a good one :D
Why does The Brick have an X as a symbol?
They used to have (nearly?) the same symbol as the loyalists. So for better differentiation they changed the symbol. Same goes for percys and titans.
how could i get the replay ip to send to u?
TheGamingCar All the instructions you need to do so are at the bottom of the Video description.
***** thx
Gyle if you see this your the bomb you gained a sub!❤️
Toei Animation Welcome aboard! ;)
nice cast!
BEA-utiful
LoL, epic racism @ 13:00

Because, early on, he's the most powerful unit you have. Once the battlefield reaches a high enough tech level, they back up.
it doesn't matter if he is or not, he's a high value unit, without him you loose the game, that would be like sending the captain of a ship in a rowboat out to meet the enemy. tactically it makes no sense and every one of these videos I see these players just throw their ACU away and because of that they get killed early on.
UbinTimor That's bad play, not inadequacy of the commander.
