I was there too. Steve Goodman was the second act. If I remember correctly, that night Billy Joel walked in and played during the encore. He was wearing a white suit and had a young hottie on his arm when he came in the door. Great times at the Main Point: Jackson Browne, Warren Zevon, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, James Taylor.... Sunday nights were broadcast live on “MMR”.
@@georgesekavec1020 WMMR in Philadelphia routinely broadcasted concerts live on Sunday evenings. Maybe they have the recordings. As I recall, Warren Zevon was dating and living with one of the DJ’s who worked at both WMMR and WYSP. Her name was Anita Gevinson.
The self titled album is just so damn good. Funny how Werewolves is the only song most people know from the whole catalog, yet it's just a fun song, not even close to Warren's most impressive work. I've been listening to Excitable Boy for a decade, and finally my dumb ass decided to check out what else was out there. Still going through all the albums and checking out a bunch of live stuff on Archive, but at this time, my third favorite album is Life Will Kill Ya.
I was at this awesome show. Till now just a memory, thanks for posting it.
Sadly, I never got to see Warren in his early days, but thankfully, eventually got to see him doing a solo gig in London.
Shocked this hasn't had more views. Wow.
This is great! Thanks for everything, Warren. RIP.
Great audio! What a treasure.
Wonderful! thanks for posting
Nostalgic. I was a student at Bryn Mawr from 1975-1979.
Are you sure this is a real place? Sounds like they could buy a few vowels.

Where is this information from? Any chance there’s a recording? That would be something incredible

I wish I was as well. I was only 16 and didn't live near the Main Point until the early 90's. R.I.P. Warren. Brilliant mind. Unusual upbringing.
