Weisneski people forget was Yankees Top SP prospect a few years ago. He's not a bullpen arm because he's a Groundball SP. You don't get air on this kid. He just had alot of young SPs ahead of him and is not a bullpen guy. Houston and Colorado where the stadium plays a certain way is a great fit for him.
I feel very positive about this move. Houston wasn't going to compete for Tucker on the FA market. Not after that Soto deal. I'm good with Bregman walking now, too.
Unless, Bellinger back to 1B, Busch back to 3B in a Platoon with Shaw. So Bellinger can play 1B mainly, spell Pca in CF, hit LH 5th behind Suzuki. Cubs are not top 10 is salary even after all this. Their market is the same as the Dodgers and Yankees so...they need to reinvest.
Tucker isn't reped by Boaras, but Bregman is... and Jed Hoyer doesn't like dealing with Boaras!!! Although they did strike a deal for Cody last year....
Today Dana Brown said that this does not mean we're out on Bregman. If Bregman comes back then Paredes would be used at first, though he's better at third.
Bellinger doesn't necessarily has to go.. the Cubs could trade Busch and move Bellinger to 1st. Or Nico is traded and Busch slots into 2nd with Bellinger at 1st.
did the Yankees end up not wanting to do Gil, Rice and stuff, because it seems like Gil a ROY winning pitcher with lots of control is more valuable than this Cubs package
The top ten salaries are 7 pitchers averaging 2 -4 years at 40ish mil per. then we have Aaron Judge at 40mil per for 9yrs an (360mil) then the crazy over the top Shohei and Soto 700mil+++. The "market went from Judge at 360 to Shohei and Soto at 700++. The 700 ++ is not the market. It's like saying Lamborghinis are the car market at $500,000 .
This is a good trade for both teams. Tucker was as good as gone at the end of the season. This way the astros get something. Cam Smith is legit. Let's be honest astros fans .You were good enough to win the division but that's it. This way the rebuild doesn't last as long. They should trade framer too.
Cubs fan...love getting Tucker(huge need, makes Cubs NL central leader immediately). And, losing Cam Smith is devastating. He's Vientos but a better fielder and base runner.
Tucker in last 3 postseasons: 26 games, .167 AVG with 3 homers. Career postseason avg around .220, 8 homers in close to 70 games. Postseason Tuck is not that good. So, doubt a healthy Tucker would've made a difference.
Cubs need hitting too. Have you seen the current rotations ERAs from last season? An ace would be nice, but to make a team to compete, improvements are needed for every day players too
Don't get it. Tucker might get them to the playoffs but most likely not IMHO. What is the point? He is a one year rental (for about 28M!) and feel quite certain Cubs won't pay 7 years, $195,383,048 which is what is projected for him. Only thing I can figure is Cubs trade him to a real contender at the trade deadline.
No yankees hate from me, I thought Tucker was a bad move for us anyhow. I really want bellinger at CF, judge back to RF, Santander at 1B, put jazz back to 2nd, and take a chance on Cabrera at 3rd.
@Thegeneral284 Obviously you don't you Tw erp. Go look at Tuckers numbers you mor on. 30 hrs and not even batting over 300 . He isn't worth that not even 200 hits or 100 rbi.
If Cody Bellinger goes to the Yankees, Dodgers will get Tanner Scott (lefty) to face those LH batters of Yankees just in case they meet again in World Series
As an Astros fan I’ve said this for a year, we can let Bregman go, Verlander is old so it doesn’t matter, but I wanted to keep Tucker. He’s young, great defender, clutch, fast, and a 40 HR guy. But our owner is cheap. We even got Kikuchi last season but let him go. It sucks
@WeBeatMedicare6969 no doubt but are they good enough to compete? I guess we will see what other trades and players they sign. Maybe this is just the start
Disregard my comment about the Cubs number of top 100 prospects…they do have, or did have 8 top 100 guys. Spaced on that during the stream.
We got 3-4 guys who will start to climb on that board too 😅. Jed can build if you let him
Weisneski people forget was Yankees Top SP prospect a few years ago. He's not a bullpen arm because he's a Groundball SP. You don't get air on this kid. King Tuck, you will be missed in H-Town. Vaya con Dios. ❤ #gostros
Matt Shaw is ready he is going to play 3rd for the cubs

I don't see them paying Tucker at the end of the year.
Yankees wanted Tucker to share a suite with Fat Joe
🤣🤣🤣
The bum ass Astros general manager didn't want to send them to New York
But it's okay he wants to be a Yankee he'll just signed with the Yankees next season
@@hectorrivera9032 He signing with the Mets next season buddy
The Stinkin Muts
Astros fan, I like it!!!
Wesneski is a hometown guy. Cy Fair HS is in Houston.
Smith actually is a top 100 prospect...Cubs had 8 in the top 100 on mlb pipeline
Watch out for the Cubs
It'll be interesting to see how this trade plays out in a few years.
As an Astros fan this hurts, but we love the return package
Who do you think you're fooling lol that return package is CHEEKS 🤣💩
Tucker isn't reped by Boaras, but Bregman is... and Jed Hoyer doesn't like dealing with Boaras!!! Although they did strike a deal for Cody last year....
I hear the Yankees deal for Tucker was better than the Cubs but why would the Astros trade with the Yankees?
I don’t like over-paying for a rental. If we want him we sign him next year for just cash. done.
The cubs are NOT in on Bregman. Unless they can sucker someone into taking Bellinger's full contract and maybe also trade Suzuki.
Today Dana Brown said that this does not mean we're out on Bregman. If Bregman comes back then Paredes would be used at first, though he's better at third.
ESPN App is reporting it as well
Bellinger doesn't necessarily has to go.. the Cubs could trade Busch and move Bellinger to 1st.

did the Yankees end up not wanting to do Gil, Rice and stuff, because it seems like Gil a ROY winning pitcher with lots of control is more valuable than this Cubs package
Now that Parades is gone for the cubs who plays 3b? Busch could play 3b?
Don't think would have traded for tucker unless he agreed to listen to extension
Multiple insiders already said that Tucker will not sign an extension
@@dtwong-w3y bummer to hear
He’ll be in Philly next year
@ you’ll be fighting with the big trio: Dodgers, Yankees, and Mets

1-year rental clowns 🤣
Framber for MCarthy and a prospect
Great news

If Tucker never got hurt prob would be in the WS last year

@@ericmausbach1808 a fully Tucker during the regular season give us prob a first round bye we aren’t in the wild card is what I meant
As a Cub fan I hope we trade Bellinger and use the money saved get a 3b
As a Rangers fan I love this. Bregman is going to the redsox
Busch plays second and third. Bellinger can play 1st and Busch to third
Paredes can also play first. Opens up $s for Bregman
Feels like Cody Bellinger - Luis Castilo swap - imo
According to MLB Pipeline, Cubs do/did have 8 top 100 guys.
Oh shit that’s right!!
Trade Framber and Ryan Presley for a 1st baseman and an LF top prospect respectively.
Is Ryan Montcastle of the Orioles good enough, since the Orioles have some pretty good left handers.
Kyle Tucker a better fit for th he Cubs in RF than CF with the Mets...
Another mussed opportunity for the Mets
I hate that. The Cubs dont need Tucker, they need pitching....
Cubs need hitting too. Have you seen the current rotations ERAs from last season? An ace would be nice, but to make a team to compete, improvements are needed for every day players too
Pitching was not the problem last year.
The Yankees will sign him at the end of the season or trade for him at the deadline. Clubs aren’t going to the series maybe not even the playoffs.
Bregman to thee Sox? if they trade Casas
Remember after this year more kids will be up and be cheap so Tuckers deal will fit
The Yankees could go after Cody and Nico
Don't get it. Tucker might get them to the playoffs but most likely not IMHO. What is the point? He will make $16-17M this year so not sure what you are talking about.
He is not signing for 195M😂 it will be closer to 400M
@@Thegeneral284 LOL yes you are right. Just getting that info off spotrac. 🙂
Bellinger has no place to play now...HES AS GOOD AS GONE. Cubs need a 3B...hello Alec Bohm
Matt Shaw
DOWN with the 'Stros!!!
Houston was robbed again and Brown showed how inept he is as a General Manager.
No yankees hate from me, I thought Tucker was a bad move for us anyhow. I really want bellinger at CF, judge back to RF, Santander at 1B, put jazz back to 2nd, and take a chance on Cabrera at 3rd.
The Astros said screw you Yankees…we’re not doing business with you.
Yankees deal was better to the astros its just they didn’t want to deal with yankeees
Gil, Warren, rice , George Lombard
Doesn't it seem plausible Parades moves to 1B. Bregman resigns. Bregman moves to 2B when Smith pushes him out. Altuve moves to DH when that happens.
Not wit alvares getting hurt. He’s our dh
can u get traded twice ??? can yanks give up gill , and some others for both cody and tucker ,,
Lol
Bregman should take the yankee offer to say screw you guys over
the cubs literally have 8 top 100 prospects. Check MLB pipeline if you don’t believe me. GO CUBS GO
Parades to 1st and Bregman slide to back 3rd? Lossing Bregman and Tucker in one offseason 🤯 Astros fan
Nasty Nestor to Milwaukee
how about arnado to the cubs
Busy day Jim, you need to rest up with being sick lol
Inglewood Jack
Now if Mets can steal away Bellinger from Yanks if Cubs still want to trade him or any other team I’m all for it
The Muts goin nowhere
Tucker to Dodgers in free agency 2026.

Now that this trade is done, is Belli going to the Yankees, and is Nico heading to the Mariners?
Yankees could try for both. They need a 2b since trading Caleb Durbin
1-year rental lol
Bregman to the Cubs is a real possibility
Great trade for the Astros.
Paredes did nothing after he was traded to the Cubs. The Cubs won that trade IF they can keep Tucker.
I dont get why the cubs made this trade. They still arent good
They’re clearly better
