I feel your pain Dom. I too have searched for months for what seemed an impossible object which then turned up right under my nose! Only the obsessed understand why these quests are truly worthwhile. Great video again.
Loved meeting you at the jumble Dom. Fingers crossed for your engine hunt. I suspect most aero engines are being held for spares by people who need them.
We have an old 6 cylinder aero engine in the back of our hangar that may be available. I think we’d take a ride on mower in exchange as long as it’s working. The engine is disassembled, and is only the block, crank, cylinders, heads, pistons and valves. No carbs, probably no sump. But it is old (ww2 sort period). It’s in-line so would fit in a car. It’s also very big, both physically, and capacity wise, probably about 10 litres.
@@loddude5706 Yes, a Gypsy Queen. However I was looking at it yesterday and there are actually fewer parts remaining than I had thought. There appears to be no cylinders, just heads, and the plate the forms the top of the crank-case is missing.

I wish I could find something like this locally. I'd like to find a model A or T frame with title. Maybe a front axel. Heck straight out the woods would be ok with me ! A radiator and grill would Be a +.
Dom, What a project! If you can't find something why not think outside the box and make one. You could make a simple V8, a copy of the Air Disposal Company's Airdisco V8 from 1924. That was 9 litre 120hp air cooled with exposed valve gear. The Shuttleworth collection have a running and flying one of these in their DH51 you could look at. Either way I'll follow your progress with interest, Good luck Sir!
Hard luck with the engine. I received my Ranalah keyring - oh what a joy! The address label, the wax paper, the ink stamp... you did it brilliantly. Thank you...
Sending you positive vibes, Dom, the right Aero engine will turn up. There has to be one out there with your name on it. Love the channel and everything that you do keep up the amazing work ❤
Kermit Weeks will not sell to anything other than aviation use. He once bought +40 Allison V12s, and one of the reason for doing that was to keep it away from the tractor pullers.

You name it as far as automotive parts, tools, accessories, anything related to the auto industry. It’s there. So similar to this video. Take us with you to a few more interesting places.
I was really hoping that you were going to say that you had found the engine you were looking for. I'm sure that one will turn up and, in the meantime, look forward to seeing your pedal car progress: astonishing how much money they now fetch. Best wishes.
I commented on your chassis video have look in the USA for a Hispano V8. Seem to sell for around 18k or so there is a real precedent for these racing in cars sometimes with 4cylinders lopped off. There were literally 10s of thousands built and are probably the easiest to get parts and info on of this era of engine design

I imagine you will also go to the Goodwood Members event next year and/or the Revival later this year to talk to the people who race Edwardian aero engined specials.
Hi Dom, I have an almost complete Dehavilland 6cyl supercharged aircraft engine (around 10ltr) that I would part with. Just missing a few easy bits like valves and rockers which can still be found. I was going to use it for an aero car too!
Hi Dom, I don’t think you’ll remember me but I knew you from KK, and Jon, I hear you are after a aircraft engine, a friend of mine is building a motorcycle with a radial engine ( project Hercules on RUclips), I’ve asked him for any contacts he is looking for you, but he said that Newark aircraft museum is the place to ask as thats where he sourced his.
