  • The Kindle has made a positive impact on my life as it has been one of the main things that have kickstarted my love for reading. Which has not only helped me grow within my job, but I believe grow as a person.
I only wish I had given reading and the Kindle a chance earlier on.
If you are in the same boat as me, wanting to start reading, but never starting. The Kindle might be the device that kickstarts your love for reading.

I'm 72 years old and at most I've read 1-2 books per year. I bought my wife a new Paperwhite and then I started using her Kindle 3rd generation. Having the ability to set comfortable fonts and text size has made reading very pleasant. In the last 6 months, I've read at least one book a week. And I'm using a 12 year old Kindle. Never enjoyed reading so much!

I agree with everything 👌 I'm similar in age to you and I did not read many books in highschool/university other than required reading and maybe 2 novels a year. Got a paperwhite just iver 2 years ago and it has done wonders for my desire to read and my habits/how I spend my free time. Less "screen time" and more reading 👍also love taking it travelling and using it for more academic/self help texts as they are much cheaper than the physical versions. Happy reading from Canada !

Glad, like me you are getting so much from your Kindle, really is a great way to reduce screen time and focus more on reading! Thanks for watching!

I'm 70 and a heavy reader, so I have tons of readers going all the way back to the Sony PRS-500. I still have them all. I do tend to favor Android based readers. I've never liked Kindle. Until the Paperwhite Signature Edition. They finally have it right. The only thing they need to work on is the LED's they use. They need to be brighter, whiter. Just my opinion.

The power button placement on the paperwhite made me so irritated since I was often powering down the device.
I now have the oasis and it's so much better to read on

That is one thing that does annoy me now again with the paperwhite, the amount of times I have accidentally switched off the screen! Hoping we see an updated oasis soon!

I’ve always been a super heavy reader - what are friends ?! - maybe a solid 2 books a week for years. Then as soon as I went to college it just stopped :/ . Got the paperwhite two weeks ago and I’ve already read 6 books lol.

For me it really comes down to the convenience, being able to read a book right away and also great for travelling!

Thanks for sharing your experience with the Kindle! I've been using Kindles for several years myself and can honestly not see myself leaving the Ereader sphere for a long time (unless maybe someone invents a way we can just upload entire books to our brains haha) The convenience and accessibility of it is just too hard not to like. I'm glad that you're getting reading into your life now, it's never too late :D
Out of curiosity, are you from Ireland?

Hey u know what, i just bought a secondhand broken kindle keyboard 3rd generation for about 9 usd, fix it, and im amaze with it. Even the support for that generation is ended, but i still using it by transfer ebook from laptop. For me its still oke, and i never regret my decision to bought it...

I bought one and barely used it. I much prefer the Kindle app on a 8 inch tablet. You get color and can highlight in 4 different colors. Also you can have a black background with white text but on a Kindle you can only get a gray background and white text.

I used to love reading on the Ipad Kindle app, not sure if it was just my eyes now but after a while it always started to hurt, why I switched back to the kindle! Thanks for watching!

@@MatthewKennedy23 I should give the Kindle another try. It is the older gold 32 GB Oasis that normally sells for around $280. It was on sale for around $179 and American Express had a deal that gave you $50 off a purchase at Amazon so I got it new for around $129. I bought it in November and the battery is probably bad because I never used it enough to charge it and it has been sitting on a shelf for months probably drained.

There’s a good reason why it’s limited to black/grey white text..
