I'm right with ya Q, was confused and disappointed in Trey's trade request - mainly for the insane timing of right before the draft, but also the fact that he just signed an extension last year. Turns out, he can't renegotiate until 12 months after extension has been signed, so until later in the year, but he can still be traded to a team and that will pay him what he wants. Agree that 17 sacks are worth more than 1K yrs WR. Just crazy timing on the trade request. Great video, always enjoy your stuff-!!! Bring on the draft-!!! So tired of mocks. 😉

@@dashaallen Oh, I agree, Bengals won't trade him. I was just pointing out Trey can't get more $$$ from the Bengals because they can't renegotiate his deal until 12 months after he signed his extension. The only way he gets a better contract w/more $$$ right now is if he gets traded to a team that will pay him more. But yeah, I agree, Bengals aren't gonna do that.

From what I’m understanding, he can’t renegotiate next years contract for twelve months but he can sign an extension for more years and money for the seasons after the 2024-25 one right now as long as his price tag for this particular years contract is not touched

I think another thing they could possibly do right now to sweeten the pot so to say, is maybe add another year on his existing contract and give him some kind of cash bonus? Not saying they'll do that, as the team is under no obligation to do anything since he's already under contract for another 2 yrs.

If anything is going to happen it will happen today with a trade for a 1st round pick. That is the only scenario that makes any sense. If not this is a big nothing burger until next offseason. You cannot mess with Mike Brown. In any other scenario Hendrickson loses and loses big time. His retirement threat is a ridiculous idea. He isn't going to walk away from $30+ million dollars.
