The Four Winds are all incredibly charming characters! I think they did a great job making them feel different from their villainous counterparts, while still making them just familiar enough that those of us that wanted playable hounds will be happy.

I kinda find this dlc similar to awakenings the future past, where in a alternate timeline Robin is gone and Grima has plunged the world into chaos, Chrom and everyone else dead, the fate of the future lies on their kids, sure it’s not entirely similar but both of these dlcs explain what would happen if the events of the game didn’t happen, like what if Robin wasn’t able to break free of Grimas control and kill Chrom, and what if Alear was born as a pure divine dragon, so now we see that everything changes entirely
SPOILERS FOR END OF CHAPTER 4 I theorized that everyone was a corrupted once I saw that Holy Stance worked on them. I thought it was some lore breaking glitch lol
I figure this DLC was gonna take place in a dying world, but I didn't expect so much of it had actually and already DIED. On the bright side, now it feels evened out. The combined balance of the hounds and winds, dragons other than Veyle, on your side, and to see both genders of Alear interact, brief as it was. Not bad for a side story that can easily blend in to the main one.
For the next Fire Emblem, can we have antagonist like this. I much prefer the idea of fallen heroes with corrupted ideals rather than another evil dragon. Evil Celine is cool and unhinged. Similar to how the Black Fang were manipulated but in this case they wouldn't be so easy to sway.
This DLC almost screams "grimdark bleakness made by the fans for the fans" because you can never have enough darkness, amirite? I am rather glad that this is a DLC sidestory and not the sole main one, making it more fitting to serve as a terribly tragic but effective precautionary tale for the main game of how poorly things can go without the peace and goodwill of the divine dragons to save the world from something as vile and twisted as Sombron. Don't let Sombron win and destroy the world like what happened to this parallel Elyos.

Honestly the best part of Engage was this DLC for me. Everything that was cute and quirky was now grim and consequential. They finally took things seriously.
I guess they didn't know that they could revive dead dragons when their Alear died. Calling Alear to their world is an interesting choice or was that caused by the power of the dead Alear?

@funni n original Yeah, in a nicer way: Fell dragons are a royal family of dragons/a supreme species of dragon on part with Divine ones, and can summon emblems like them too, but their magic corrupts the Emblem and turns them red. They can't speak and are at the mercy of the wielder. It's implied the emblem is in pain. This world is different, so they're able to speak, but that's why they sound strained. Fell dragon magic.
I don't know if it's a good idea to start the Fell Xenologue before continuing through the story. I still need to think about whether to do Tiki's paralogue, or just ball in Chapter 7.
It's repayable of you want to use different units in it, but all units' levels, classes, and items are locked. I was pissed because I play Alear as a sage, so her sword skills were useless in this DLC, even though I was forced to use her as a sword unit.

No. As long as you download the update you can access the Xenologue from the well in the Sommiel. I'd only do it when you have a bunch of Emblems to back you up though & not straight after Ch 10/11.

The reaction to seeing our Alear of some of the chars is a bit confusing. Different hair colour and (sometimes) different gender should make the difference obvious.

It was definitely edge honesty it’s biggest problem was that we didn’t get enough time. Still nice to see other sides of the characters and the story at least better than fates. Can’t say the same for base which just sad
I was disappointed that he ended up being the villain because it seemed so obvious. I was hoping that it was Mauvier, because he had no other discernable differences from the other Mauvier. Instead, we got no explanation for that and Nil as the worst FE villain ever. Oliver from Path of Radiance was more threatening.

Much easier later on, especially if you max out bonds for characters you can use instead of the guest characters
