    Zelestia: You are just like our Mauvier. Kind and honorable. How was I in your world?

      Actually, there is one aspect of the Mauviers that is different; their passivity. Alternate Mauvier was proactive, he did not wait, and he was not passive. This is why he died instead of losing the Four Winds. Mainline Mauvier is passive, and it caused the death of Marni.

    I liked how kind Zelestia is to Mauvier, even after hearing about the misguided things Zephia did.

  • @InfinitelyMasked
    @InfinitelyMasked Год назад +202

    I kinda like how Zelestia is something of a subversion to the 'little girl dragon' fire emblem trope
    Having lived so long she is lonely and has a naive understanding of human companionship, but it manifests as a doting maternal instinct rather than a simple desire for friends

    • @BladeSerph
      @BladeSerph Год назад +26

      If you didnt recall that she is still a `What if variant` on Zephia, who was straight up the obsessive for a family, that she believed it has to be one related by blood that she ironically got a family after `thousands of years` that didnt need direct blood relationships but was too ignorant of it till she was literally dying. Heck even playing the supposed long-con game with one specific Master, when she could of likely got in bed with anyone in general for that blood-line based relationship. Likely going off the `needs a superior individual` to be thar partner type logic.
      Ultimately, Zelestia is just the `we fixed this character to be wholesome logic`, which probably explains why Mauvier didn`t get any actual variation for his Four winds counterpart. Because they wanted only `the antagonists` get the bad guy twist and suddenly sympathic at death, so anyone who is a good boy already stayed a good boy if they didnt have Mc`guffin elements to splain why everyone is a meanie all of a sudden.
      So really, its less about `she manifested as a doting maternal instinct` and more like they `twisted` the desire for family in a positive non-ignorant direction, instead of a malicious ignorant for plots sake focus.

      @@rufure9294 Sadly, im not feeling much interest to digging thru the story much, so that kind of feels like a random fake out when i was under the understanding that the `Dragon clan` that Zephia/zelestia were part of were devout followers of the Fell dragon.
      Granted, when one thinks about it really, this is just a really lazy approach to what Fire emblem fates did for a DARK FUTURE type of story, the same in a sense as the Fire emblem game with Robin, Chrom and Lucina.
      Least in that case, you were both the protagonist and the ultimate antagonist at the same time due to the same shenigans that Lucina likely made use of to `save` the future.
      In the case of what i understand on Fire emblem Engage, it seems to be more like they had a bunch of characters die, ignore the logistics on how alot of elements worked (such as HOW corrupted are made) and HOW they even are able to get free will to an extent), then just run it like its Resident evil where till people started actually `being` zombies, Leon and anyone else likely were non the wiser, just like how the entire Xenologue story abused that logic that nothing would of gave it away that everyone except conviently the ones you fight were, are actually all DEAD and `zombies` already, yet could still perfectly act not like zombies and were even fighting each other, despite thats not how corrupted were shallowly portrayed in the main story.
      I may like some cheesy storyplay here and thar times, but thars a point where its just being stupidly arsie for a story that should of been a short tid-bit and they stretch it out for multiple movie lengths instead of revealing in the first hour the beeg twist, acting as if all the `good kiddos` are blindly ignorant of the situation, even if they have been living for years in said lands, because the `corrupted` were not bothrering them at all besides the corrupted who actually werent in disguise.

      @@BladeSerph You didn't complete the game, correct? Otherwise you would know it depends on the person who revives the dead to Corrupted as well as their intentions. Veyle revives Alear as a Corrupted with nothing about him being different. Evil Veyle reviving Hyacinth the same with the difference of him being totally loyal to Sombron. Most Corrupted in the main story are loyal, unfeeling husks whose only purpose is to kill and serve so they don't need voices or a normal appearance. Sombron only needs them to serve unconditionally.

    I just realized, it could be possible that Zelestia never had time to mourn for their Mauvier the whole time during the DLC story even to the point where she asked Madeline that its ok to mourn for him, she had to be strong on that point in time considering she is still the leader of the winds and has to be strong for em, but when its time for her to see the exact semblance of the man who sacrifices his life for his new family, the held up emotions were too much that it broke away like a destroyed dam

      Guess it comes down to past And potential. Zephia was powerful Enough to be a villainess in her own right, while Zelestia was the opposite, pitifully weak magic wise for a Mage Dragon (Though it saved her life as it was the weak potential that alt Sombron didn't find her)
      She also was saved and spend time around Lumera, enough that Lumera rubbed off on her compared to how Sombron rubbed off BADDLY with Zephia (Funny enough Zephia has traits with Soren mother Almedha, Both are very powerful dragon, Both have tanned skin in their human form, Both ended up getting into an intimate relationship with powerful A****** Who used them very badly, And as a reminder Almedha approached Ashnard ON HER OWN. And like Sombron, Ashnard saw her as just a pawn to use, One he easily Discarded the very moment She lost her ability to turn into a dragon, Soren came out as he did, And he only kept the 2 around until he Was able to use them as hostages Against her older brother Rajaion And the dragons that left with him to try to rescue her, losing Soren and pretty much thrown out in the streets, well Ashnard didn't do that, but he might as well have And she had no other uses to him, Zephia Caught on sooner that Sombron used her, at the endgame he got what he wanted, whulich was being able to leave Elyos, And as the man Said himself he Went beyond the beyond and not wanting to interact with anything in the world if he could help it. Zephia just got unlucky compared To the other women he mated with there's no full indication if The other female dragons he mated with like Veyle mom and Alear mother if they had a choice in the manner. But then I believe he was aware that had he given her the child she wanted she might have left his services sooner or might risk her usage being Diminished. Let's not forget Sombron Even saw his own children as nothing but pawns And did not hesitate to kill any of them If they disappoint him, Veyle Only surviving because she realistically couldn't be Of use for him at the time, And upon his unsealing She was too useful and the only child he had left to not immediately deal with her when he realized she was everything he despised hence the brainwashing/fake personality)
      Maurier Insinuates Also that her great magical power might have been putting her dragon instincts on overdrive, Veyle after all is weaker then Evil Veyle because of her innate power being pushed into overdrive. So Zephia
      But the one thing to notice despite her circumstances and where she came from. "Weak" Zelestia is LEAGUES happier then her "Powerful but alone" counterpart (who only realized what she had already and Squandered much too late)

      @@Shadowchellen That was because of his background. In the main timeline Mauvier's father was sick while his mother prayed to the Divine Dragon to not take his life. When his father died, his mother believed that the Divine Dragon had failed them and left Firene for Elusia where they worship Sombron. Mauvier says in his supports with Anna that while he prayed at the church he never truly believed what they were preaching or felt he had a reason to pray. He was simply recruited because of what was believed to be a broken man who found solice in the Fell Dragon when in actuality he was simply doing as he was told to do. His compassion for Veyle is his driving force to stay with the Four Hounds since he does whatever she says but often preferring what Veyle's normal personality says and does since he was there when she first woke up.
