- Ozark Trail recently put out a new line of fishing equipment, including a 3000 size spinning reel! Walmart hasn’t always been known for putting out quality gear, but this model has been receiving very good reviews. And with a $15 price tag (plus an extra $2 for a 2 year warranty), this was too good an offer to pass on.

Your growing fast bro 🔥 I’m here to stay and I hope you keep growing
I appreciate it!
congrats on 1k. keep the videos coming.
Thank you!
Dang that was a nice one there man. Tight lines!
Thank you my man! You as well
Thanks for the test. Just some advice, not complaining by any means to please don't take it that way... watch some vids on the correct way to put line on a spinning reel. When u do it like that you are imparting a twist on it with every turn of the handle. U may not notice it if u are using thin braid, so if that's the case and u aren't getting bird nests, feel free to ignore. But I promise you, any braid that 30lb or heavier will twist. Forget about mono or fluoro, that will likely nest AS you are spooling it!
Keep up the great vids man! 👍
I appreciate you!
Wow, its only been one year and you got so many more subs! Congrats!
That’s not even a bad reel. smooth ,tight lines
🙌

You're very welcome! Thanks for watching
1.2k thats insane i was here since 200 -300 remember me when u hit 1mil
Appreciate you my man! Definitely hoping to grow that big - that would be the dream 🙌
Do you have a video on what’s the best setup for Black Seabass?? I’m talking real 101 stuff…there’s no video for it. What size rod to use, what reel to pair it with, what’s a good lure or jig? How to tie your knots for the jig? Do I add a weight? A swivel? Or if the jig is heavy enough to reach the bottom without a added weight? Fishing at about 80-90 feet of water
How much line does that reel hold? Does it cast far?
I'll really be putting one of these Ozark Trail reels to the test in late September and October as we head up north to Michigan for the annual salmon run. Normally I use a reel in the 4000 size but I have used the 3000 series as well.
Mostly use Okuma reels, Abu Garcia and Shimano reels.
My 8 year old grandson is going up north with us this year, and a cheaper reel is ideal for him due to kids negligence of placing reels in the mud and sand. Hoping this Ozark Trail reel can hold up to the fighting force of a Chinook (King) salmon. They are like hooking up with a tank.
Nice! Would love to hear how it holds up. I took it for a stress test today for some striped bass and it held up well
@@Tackle2thePeople I'll try and remember to give you an update but I'm old. Lol.
@@Tackle2thePeople here's one of the videos I put together from the past 5 years I've went up. I make 2 trip up each fall. A lot of fun.

@@TheDbrewer31 update? haha
@@jide5342 well, my grandson never hooked up with a salmon so it's still up in the air. The reel itself still seems like it would do ok but then again, once the drag system is put to the test, it might rip the gears right out of that thing. Lol.
I love my OT reel. I have caught some big fish to include a 6lb gar.
Nice! Yeah I’m loving it so far - where are you from?
@@Tackle2thePeople originally Michigan but I am military and in Texas.
@@Tightt88 Awesome - I figured it was Texas or Oklahoma since they love their Gar fishing. Thank you for your service!
1k!👍👍👍
🙌🙌🙌
Congrats on 1000 from Lowell ma‼️‼️‼️‼️

100%
Awesome guy i am new but love the channel
I subscribed a few days ago
Welcome! Thanks for following my man 🙏🏻
whats the rod i cant opem the livk
I got that Same Reel ....The Price was Right
Do you still use this reel?
So I bought the Ozark Trail 2000 size reel. It’s a lot different from the 3000 but it seems more solid and heavier. I would check it out if I were you! Oh yeah, it’s $15.
Sick bro! I was eyeing that one too but ended up opting for the larger size. How is it so far? Thinking about getting it down the line
@@Tackle2thePeople it feels heavier / more solid than the 3000. It’s also just as smooth. The frame bail and spool seem to be metal and the handle is rubber / textured nicely. Reminds me of old school nicer reels. The reel reminds me of my old Mitchell reel I used to love. I caught a 3ft gar on it this morning and there were no issues.
What size rod were you using?
Penn Squadron II 7 foot Medium action. Link is in the description
Hope I win one then reels lol been looking for a new reel the one I have now is a little broken
Sorry to hear that man! This ones definitely a good one
What scale is that? Where are you? Oh, and I'd love any reel or lure you'll send my way.
Hes in Massachusetts where in Massachusetts im not sure
It’s a Berkley scale. I live in east MA and fish middlesex county primarily
@@Tackle2thePeople I need to find one with the attached fish gripper. Do you like it? Does it give lbs and ounces, or fractions of pounds aka 1.25 instead of 1lb 4 ounces. I'll look it up for cost and details.
I know you from MA, you fish a place right down the road from my house. Was just wondering about this specific place, but I understand if you don't want to go giving out details. I can imagine it blowing up spots, but if it's public ponds, I don't know why it matters as much.
Keep up the great work. Love seeing a local RUclipsr.
First
Congrats bro lmao
Damn dude. A 40 buck reel is cheap.
I know right - if it’s any good then it’ll change the game for entry level reels
