Quick Pitch
This kit is for a shower up to 36" x 60" with drain in the center or 36 x 36" drain in the corner.
The Quick Pitch Float Stick Shower Floor Drainage Kit System permits easy construction of shower floors with the proper minimum water drainage slope of 1/4 12" run.
With this time-saving system there is now no chance for an error in measurement, or the need for a level, to achieve a properly sloped shower floor.
Designed for an area where the drain is no further than 36" from any wall or curb.
Composeal Blue Vinyl Shower Pan Membrane
Composeal is used generally under tile or marble as a waterproofing membrane beneath a "thick set" mortar bed of 1 ¼"-2" above a substrate of wood or concrete.
I used a product called BondTAC 1500 when I did my shower. Roll / brush-on waterproof membrane and air & vapor barrier in one. Personally, I liked it - easy application, and the tile thin set sticks to it incredibly well. Haven't had any problems, and I know a few people who used it years ago, and they haven't had an problems either. Definitely worth looking in to.
Found the video very instructional, but the background music was just annoying, sorry. Hard to focus on what was being done and said.
If you look closely at teh center ring you see it it is higer in this is to raise the the landening point of the pre pitch around the drain, so you start from 0 slope at this point again.
When you fill in your mud you will have more mud fill in around the drain (about 1/2") and as you go away from the center towed the walls it will be at 1/4" thick
I am sooo going to use this, I am much less nervous now!
Watch the video again.
You got to have 2 slopes the 2nd slop are also 1/4" per ft but the center ring raise it by 1/4" to the final slope will be 1/4" and not 1/2"
Maybe I get it. 1/4" pitch on floor, liner, mud, then use 1/4" pitch again, but the center ring raises the front ( thinner section ) of the 1/4" by 1/4", basically making the top of the final pitch pieces parallel in relation to the pre-pitch?
I will use it soon. Thanks for sharing.
Pre-pitch, mud, liner, then more pitching, more mud? Confused!!!
I hate the music but alot of great info. It makes me think I can actually do this.
Cut the music. Agree with Mark Waters, music was most annoying.
Is there a chance that the "water test" could allow water between the liner and clay without one knowing? How can i minimize this possibility?
the music is only in the right ear bud, and the voice is in the left, so if you are using ear buds you can eliminate one or the other.
if this is your only complain then it is good thing as we are not a musician we are a DIY center :)
But i make a note of it
How do you get the water out of the shower after the water test? A shop vac?
that was too funny..Im dying laughing here..LOL..thanks I needed that..getting close to wedding day so I need to relax..
Do you have a document on your site that explains that a little better?
The big problem with this is that the test method used here only tests the corners. Of course the drain will not leak if you haven't cut out the drain hole and plugged the drain. These things always leak around the drain when/if they leak, the corners are never the problem. Signed.....Proffessional Plumber Z
As you know i can't post link on youtube, Look in the quick pitch section on our web site their is a link called "Quick Pitch with Composeal Vinyl" in this link you can see step by step picture and detail instructions
Open the block you put on the drain and let it drain down.
i just need this guy to come over now and do all that shit for me
What is the name of the music used in the background!?
THIS MUSIC FUCKING ROCKS ! ! ! Especially the organ solo at 5:26! It is reminiscent of the Japanese-rock fusion heard in the early 90s on PS1 games. Example in Evil Zone's Keiya Tenpouin theme specifically at 1:35: /watch?v=Asog8WxBQ-s
I am a musician and not a contractor so I know what the fuck I'm talking about.
People hating on the music have poor taste in aural quality.
Have to agree with Mark. Music is awful and ruins what would be a great instructional video
That was funny :)
I hate the music too :) and as you can tell i am not a musician :)
:)
