Thanks for upload. Seems to be that the not given goal of the DDR-Team in Chorzow was not offside. But summary the Poland Team was the best team in this group.

It always remains a riddle for me, why the all time highly acclaimed east German Footballers could only qualify for a World - Cup once !!
So eine Chance ist nie wieder gekommen, leider waren wir damals nur zweitklassig. Sie haben vor den Spielen gegen Polen ganze Oberligaspieltage abgesagt und dennoch versagt. Heimspiel gegen Polen war ein Offenbarungseid, hat gezeigt, wie weit wir früher hinter der Musik herliefen.
Match Malta-Poland was interrupted several times because crowd was throwing stones on Polish players and team (with police help) had to evacuate to locker room. It looks that match Malta - East Germany was nervous too.
I remember that the GDR TV could not provide moved pictures, respectively an live report of the match. The owner of the stadium in La Valetta desired an very high amount for the rights. And then the famous east german sports commentator Heinz-Florian Oertel reported about the match in an private appartment near the the stadium by phone for the fans in the GDR. Really true, not an joke.
My pal played on that pitch in the 80s said it was as hard as concrete..
ITS WEIRD THAT THEY DONT PLAY ONLY IN 1974... NOT 1978.1982.1986
Standings at the end were wrong. Poland 8pts, East Germany 4pts, Malta 0pts. Great video, looking forward to the next one.

Poland's "hard" way to Spain 😂
it was the only group with 3 teams instead off 4 or 5. I dont know the exactly reasons and background. It could be that Israel would have been the 4th team. But a lot of nation teams denied to play against Israel at that time. The usual foederation was asia as I remember. But there the arabian countries was against the matches with Israel. And the most european countries denied too it. The GDR was one of the countries in the east of europe thay was strictly against Israel.
