They do it because they want to be seen resisting, which is their job. They are a resistance group. And it is not as if they do it without immediate provocation, regularly (except maybe October 7th). And what are the casualties that these rockets cause ? Not significantly high numbers.
They fired 1500 rockets just this past May. Imagine how many more they could send if they could freely import weapons. The casualties are low because Israel has defense systems. I liked the final part of the debate, when Dave asks Noam, "Why does Israel have the right to dictate that unless each Palestinian lays down arms, they don't get to have a government, an economy, imports, exports ?". All that Noam was able to mumble is "But they are shooting rockets". The last time Hamas fired rockets was after Sheikh Jarrah. It is not as if they just do it as a hobby. They do it because they want to be seen resisting, which is their job. They are a resistance group. And it is not as if they do it without immediate provocation, regularly (except maybe October 7th). And what are the casualties that these rockets cause ? Not significantly high numbers.
They fired 1500 rockets just this past May. Imagine how many more they could send if they could freely import weapons.
