Hydro Dipping Tips:
- Use warm/lukewarm water
- Dip on an angle so bubbles don’t form
- Make sure there is no paint floating around from previous dips
- I used Rustoleom 2x Paint and Primer

I was planning to use hydro dipping in shoe making, i had a query if I should hydro dip the components before making the shoe or after ? Will the paint crack if I stretch or stitch the leather?
It's been pretty resilient with stitching and bending so I'd assume it's okay. But could depend on what leather you're using. I'd definitely finish it off with some sort of coating.
Very cool idea, you could always use some top coat as extra protection. Did you use basic paint + primer spay? Does it need to be a specific type?
Yeah i think a top coat would definitely help. Some resolene would probably seal it in pretty good. Yep, I just used a paint + primer spray. Most hydro dippers are using at least some paint+primer combo.
does the paint ever rub off with use?
It actually holds up quite well. A lot of people do with it with shoes and it seems to stay on quite well.
What type of leather did you used?
Vegetable tanned leather
Is it just plain water? No additives? Really cool look !,
Plain water from the hose. I added some hot water to keep the water a bit warmer.
