I did, and I loved it (even before the updates started rolling in). By the way, did you get the Ultimate Enhanced Edition on the Switch? Not only it has new mechanics and other updates, but also introduces new playable DLC characters.
I was excited for this game. I loved the original 2. It was clearly rushed out the door, it seems about half-finished, very disappointing. It’s functionally still a PS2 game, the only evolution it made was graphical. Hell, most of the enemies don’t even have AI, they just stand there and shoot. We have games that evolve on PS2 action better; DMC5, Bayonetta 3, El Paso Elsewhere, Evil West, etc.
It certainly starts out that way but eventually introduces other things you need to watch out for. Enemies shooting rockets and grenades that you either have to dodge or reflect back with a slash of your coffin. Ninja's that can deflect your normal bullets with their katanas, shielded guys that you have to break with a special or your melee attack. As he said, it's also not just about killing, but high scores. If you just shoot every body with auto-fire while moving you don't get any ART. It's about killing fast, constantly, and artfully to maximize your Beat and ART score and thus get more DNA for upgrades.

Gungrave IS NOT THE SAME unless it's goes for anime style graphics, wish they understood this!

They did announce that they are going to make an ultimate version for consoles and PC the game, so probably all the issues will be fixed
I loved the ps2 one bought it on a whim rockabilly was my favorite character
