(UPDATE). Well you were absolutely right about when u said "it just takes practice". I just did a KATL to KELP flight with a beautiful AA MD11 and I freakin nailed the landing. 50° trim, 135-140 knots, about 7° pitch and flared around 40' and 300fpm and held the nose up like you did while perfectly centered. Replayed it about 15 times! LoL. Thanks for the tips and I'll try to record the next one.
Being very familiar with the KC-10, approach speed is anywhere between 135-150 (weight depending) with 35° flaps. 50° is seldom used. I typically use flaps 35 and 145 for approach and have had much success in the short time flying this puppy. #MrDiscountPilotGuy

Great video, I noticed I can still Pushback with my Airbus 319. But when I tried flying with the new MD-11 planes. None of the new planes will allow the Pushback feature to work. Even after I updated the app, & planes.

I tried to land this plane yesterday and the nose kept pitching wildly up and down. When auto thrust came on, the nose pitched way up, then when thrust went down, the nose would dip way down. Almost crashed a few times
But in reality, if you have checked on any videos, no matter how soft your landing was, but for MD-11, it will bounce, but in the game, it doesn't simulate this phenomenon. all in all, it's a good game, even I don't have the MD-11 update.
In my opinion, it seems as of you were going too slow, and so you had to bring your nose very high. Looking close at the little outer cam, it almost looks like you came close to a tail trike (I could be mistaken)
The DC10/MD11 are different and do approach or takeoff at a higher angle of attack. The information in the video was provided by a DC10/MD11 pilot.

can you make both dc 10 variants free? you can keep the md 11s in pro but just the dc 10.

How do you determine what pitch you’re at... I don’t understand how that works if anyone knows let me know.
The pitch ladder is indicated on the HUD with horizontal lines in 5º increments. - MD

Hey Mark!' I love the MD11 but my God it's the trickiest plane I've ever landed on IF. My landings are hit or miss, either smooth as butter one flight and the next she's trying to go nose up into a stall on final or land in the grass just short based on the aforementioned setup. For years I've heard the DC10/MD11 was a diva of a plane to fly. I feel like an expert when it comes to landing a A321/737 and especially the lovely 787! This is a whole different beast and my best landings are with flaps 35°. 50° is a recipe for disaster or a Go Around for me.
I love those McDonnell Douglas DC-10’s and MD-11’s they finally released those planes into my Infinite Flight account on the 12th of December 2017 and I was really excited and I was able to buy them with my Infinite Flight Pro valid subscription cuz I am a subscriber to Infinite Flight Pro!
Well, I guess I can buttered landing if I'm using MD-11. And also, I'm kinda surprised that MD-11 is the fuel-efficient aircraft as I'm using it several times...
I'm not sure if this is accurate. You touched down at 110 knots. Literature says MD11 flies fast and lands fast. You don't flare in an MD11. You fly it onto the runway. I've flown the PMDG MD11 in FS9 and at the end of a long haul with a moderate load, you'd approach at 145-150 knots and touchdown about the same speed. Same I'd observed with the Alain Capt MD11 in FS9. 110 knots is way too low for td in any aircraft.
You need a different source for your literature. This plane does not fly fast on the approach, and it does not and fast. Then, you absolutely do flare this plane! If you don't, you'll have a very hard landing. Somebody has given you some very bad information.
