I’ve got a Uniden BC125AT Bearcat handheld scanner that took me a bit to figure out. Once I cleared all the old codes, I looked up the A&M’s radio frequencies and was able to add them to a bank, or group them into one section. Then it just scans that bank, or group, and all it’ll pick up is the railroads radio chatter. I use it on several of my videos.
I'm glad that you noticed the rechargeable battery pack for the scanner radio and the usage of regular batteries in this pack. It does have a warning sticker on the pack about charging or using the DC power plug with regular batteries in the pack. You can use the batteries as show in the video, but one must heed the warning. I did notice the squelch is scratchy, but the only way to fix it would be to open the radio and use contact cleaner on the potentiometer for the squelch which I'm not sure how comfortable you may be with this repair. As far as the frequencies for the railroads in Canada, you may have to look them up on the net, and I'm sure Dave Hover can walk you through on how to program the radio.
Great items. Getting UK style vehicles is always a bonus for UK styled layouts. Kytes Lights also add flashing LED's to emergency vehicles. I have a fire engine and street lights from them. Happy Modelling
I’d like to acquire a Csx engine soon because then I could do something christmasy for SMT’s competition, and I feel like you should do the same. It would be a good idea to see who can make the best Christmas layout
I am so very Jealous of you Scott getting all those lovely things from Steve @FaresPlease, after ALL the many years of purchasing " AA " vans & BOAC vans ( and other things ) I never got anything like you have, geez..... PS: If I can ask what part of Scotland do ye hail from, I use to spend my summers in West Kilbride.....
I'm from Glasgow, the monsoon capital of the UK. I just watched your train cam video from 12 years ago. The quality was excellent, even for today's standards, well done.
@@ScottRailsThanks for your kind words, I started a new layout when I came to Kingston but sadly have lost interest in completing due to lack of interest of life or the train collectors lack of total interest of forming a club like I was living in Montreal...
@@Quince828Yes considering their size they are quite presentable. Despite being RHD, many vehicles in the range lend themselves to North American scenes. A VW is a VW, a Jaguar is a Jaguar, a Land Rover is a Land Rover ... etc. for the most part. lol
That's wonderful what you got. Aways something to learn.
Very very nice custom van Dave!
Que surpresa meu amigo, linda vam personalizado com o logo do canal parabéns
... on the larger Transit van, there is a silver push switch on bottom near rear axle. Give it a push !!!
hahaha, I wish I had know about that for the video, that's awesome.
I would have been excited to, cool little van
Hey, we all need a Scot Rails van for our layouts.
Cool mail call
The tin type intro is great!
Nice custom van, Tram kit looks handy, I`ve been looing for something like that with smaller wheels to motorise a piece of static MOW

I only found out about SMT's Christmas competition after it was too late. Maybe this years I'll have something.

Dave I sent you some frequency’s
Dave, after you catch the train, what in the world are you gonna do with it?
Probably just wave like a child and hope for a horn honk, lol.
Is the small Ford a Oxford model also?
Yes both are Oxford models
Thank you, i will look out for them over here@@Faresplease
The short one is a Ford Transit 'Connect' and the longer one is a Ford Transit 'LWB High Roof'
@@Farespleasethose Oxford models are so nicely detailed and add a lot to the layout.
