This does not work well wirelessly with Android Auto. It routinely disconnects. The device I just bought (mid Nov 2024) from Amazon, has no possibility for connecting the phone with a USB cable. I have to routinely hit reconnect the Android Auto and pray that it works only to have it disconnect moments later. It is connected via Bluetooth without losing connection so it is just Android Auto that is losing connection. I saw another video about "Why Not to Buy this Device" and one of the things noted was its inability to maintain connection via Android Auto. That's the only reason I bought it so I am going to return it.
My car has dvd player and Bluetooth calls even built in MP3 hard drive and sat na e , but no Bluetooth music audio so I ordered one for my car maybe 2nd for my truck
I have a similar unit as yours. It been working well but recently it stopped automatically playing phone calls received or made through the car speakers. The music I stream through my iPhone still plays automatically when car is started through car speakers but not phone calls, do you have any thoughts on why this may be happening. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Marty
I’m having the same issue, I just bought it and the music play fine through the car speakers but the second I make a phone call I don’t hear anything unless I change the Bluetooth output to my actually phone speaker then I hear the call but aside from that it doesn’t play in the car:( where you able to find a solution?
Is there a name for the mount? With the 4 pins? I've got one of these but need a stronger mount as the one mine came with seems to be loose, I've tried googling and struggling to find the mount name that clips into the back 4 pins
Thanks for you expertise! I would like to use this in my wife's 2006 Mustang - no Bluetooth! Would this work? Would like to use the device for Bluetooth calls with her phone and run Waze from my phone onto the screen - is this possible?
You might want to think about installing a double DIN sized version of this directly into your dash. I installed one in my ‘97 Ranger and my sister’s 2008 Mustang. Works the same way as this portable unit.
Hi new subscriber here. I have a few questions. My car has no aux port. I do have a stock car stereo that has Bluetooth. I use this to connect my phone to the stereo to play audio via the Bluetooth through the car speakers. I noticed this device has a power cord with two USB ports that connects to the cigarette lighter port. What I really want to know, if I use use the 3.5 cable to connect to one of the USB ports on the power cord via a USB aux adapter, will I hear the audio via the car speakers? The adapter i am looking at getting is the DUKABEL USB to 3.5mm Jack Audio Adapter. The idea is to use this adapter and connect it to one of the USB on the power cord and have the 3.5mm cable connected to the aux. My last question is, will the mirror mode work with my phone via Bluetooth, that way the audio comes from the car speakers since it is also connected to the car stereo? I apologize if I am confusing you lol. Thanks!
So easy answer is for the wireless android auto is yes, it connects via Bluetooth/wifi magic. For the audio for usb to 3.5mm jack…. Good question and can’t confirm that one to be honest with you. You technically can have it transmit via FM radio to your speakers, which may be an option.
Does it display the internet browser on your iPhone like Safari?

Thanks. Almost bought this
Anyone able to find manufacturer site or software update for the unit?
Developer mode pin would be nice too.

How good is the sound quality when fm-transmitting over the car radio?
It seemed to work okay if you could find a clear channel but it isn't my recommended approach

Can you play RUclips from your phone to watch videos on long drives for passengers?

Should yup. My smart car doesn’t have Bluetooth, your phone connects to the screen. As long as you have an outlet to power it
@@JamesMontemagno thanks for the excellent material and quick response! I'll pick one up - if all goes badly, I'll use it as a Christmas gift! :)

I have a dash cam and the micro sd reader is perfect for watching back the video without having to take the sd card inside to my computer lol
what operating system is that?
Probably some custom Linux thing that they built to support the different features
Windows CE

I have a 2001 VW with a cassette deck lmfao, will this thing be able to play music through my car speakers?
Hmmmm if you have an AUX port then yes… or FM radio. Could also get one of those cassette to aux setups.
No aux but I gotta radio lol. you’re saying it would work thru the cassette aux piece tho? That does make sense
@@drewebettsyes the tape deck aux cord to the device 💪🏾
@@foreignstacks5790 I was already thinking that ! 💪🏻

that thing is insane laggy wtf
It is, but it is cheap. I assume the processor is pretty low powered. It seems faster of wired
