Great video but I went with the Glorious Panda's due to price and availability. Also almost all switches sound good when lubed. Great video and thank you.

What mic are you using? Crystal clear! Anyway, i have some of the older versions of the holy pandas... the sound is not consistent - lubed and unlubed. Very very disappointing considering i bought at USD 1.3 per switch. I had to make 2 batches instead of one consistent pool
i had gateron clear for a whileand then switched to glorious pandas, and i gotta tell you that the tolerances on those switches are better everything fits tighter, which helps alot with the sound they produce
Are Glorious Pandas smoother than Gateron Browns? I feel a scratch and sometimes hear a weird pinging noise on my Gateron Browns and I don't know if it's worth it switching to pre-lubed Glorious Pandas. The Keyboard is a Keychron K6 (Hot Swappable)
hmm, am I the only one still hearing the ticking even after lubing? I'm guessing it's the leafs making the noise :/ great product for people getting into the hobby at an affordable price but I don't see myself using this cuz of that leaf noise, but great review tho!
So when I swap the spring from my lubed YOK spring into the Glorious, the Glorious ends up sounding very similar to how the YOK did. When I move the lubed Glorious spring into the YOK, I still hear the whine. I'm thinking that lube alone isn't enough to cover the spring whine and if you find a suitable replacement for the Glorious spring, you'd be set.
@@JTTR well i've seen Taeha's stream where multiple switches were having "ticking" noise issues from the actuation leafs within, even after lubing, but maybe because it was pre-production units? @@jamboards5771 I don't have Glorious Pandas but my Zealios V1 had some leaf ping/tick and the solution I found was adding a little bit of thick lube like Krytox 205 to the back of the leaf where the bump is. YMMV.
Drop pandas seem like they are slightly beter made since glorious looks like they use cheaper manufacturing processes to mass produce the switches easier, but a small imperfection isnt going to make a difference, and when the price is that much lower than drop pandas, glorious pandas might be the way to go for most people.
I actually got a set of T1 and Koalas and so far, I'm really liking the T1s. Thinking about doing a review of these some time in the future. I got some Kiwis as well which uses T1 stems and they are quite nice as well. As for why not T1s and other switches like it, my guess is the method of buying becomes a factor. Some people find Aliexpress intimidating so they would rather purchase from a brand that they recognize.
Are you sure you didn't reverse the switches/labels when you did the lubed vs unlubed test at 14:20? I could swear the ping on the lubed was worse. That seems counterintuitive to say the least. Great video though of course.
A problem with the GP's is the pinging noise. The lubed ones just made the pinging more distinct because there's no more scratch noise to mask it. But I think the pinging goes away after a while. I've been using it for half a month now, and the pinging is less audible than before.
The bag that the actual switches are in inside the box is larger than it needs to be, thicker than it needs to be, and reusable. Love me some reusable packaging.
Great vid! I do believe that you can actually blindly tell between the switches by feel, but if I were doing that, I would cheat and feel for the sunk-in verses raised logo from the top housing to distinguish between the two rather than feeling the actual stem actuation lol
Damn, that is a great point. Sometimes you get so deep into making a video so you don't think about little details like that. Well, I hope from the video you could tell I went straight to actuating the stem and even got a bit confused on the last two switch. If I ever do this again, I'll cover what I need to with blue tack.
Loved the video. Detailed and clear as always. Do you feel like the yok is less heavy than the drop pandas? I've been thinking of getting yok because the drop 67g feels a bit heavy.
As Patrick mentioned, the spring of the Trash Pandas were advertised as 50g actuation and 60g bottom out. Unfortunately I don't have a way to generate a full force graph but I did try the nickel test to see at what weight the Yok and Glorious would over come the bump and actuate. You would think the Yok Holy Trash Panda would require less nickels but both switches triggered after 12 nickels so approx 60-65g. I think Patrick suggestion with swapping out springs makes the most sense. *Nickel test Stack US 5 cent nickels which are 5g each on top of a switch to determine peak force. IIRC, ripster55 is the one that came up with it.
I have the Drop V2 Pandas and I think the springs have been giving me strange sounds/travel when using them. What replacement springs would you recommend that would retain the same feel but are just higher quality?
TBH, I don't have recent experience so I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction. I've used SPRiT in the past but I currently don't have any on hand to test.
Might be a weird question, but do you know by any chance if the pins are wider than the ones of an outemu switch? My keyboard is hot swappable but since it has outemu switches, the pins and the holes are actually thinner than a classic mx like switch
I know this was from 11 months ago buuuut if you never ended up finding out / for people coming across this: outemu hotswap is incompatible with other regular mx style switches; outemu hotswap is only hotswappable with outemu switches
