This is an absolutely brilliant switch review
What an absolutely brilliant review of an absolutely brilliant switch review
Ur review when
Tactile gang rise up
Si
will glarses so a vid on the glorious pandas 🤔
it would be very interesting if he does
As a person who heavily favours linears, the depth of this video really helped with grabbing my attention for the switch; you basically swayed me like a pro salesman, and I’ll definitely end up using these for a future tactile build!
Double check lubing the springs! I've heard some people have had issues with not lubing theirs, or not lubing theirs enough
@@manofinterests Thanks for the tip dude! I'll make sure to keep that in mind hahaha
Pretty sure the spring itself is rated at 67g bottom out like Sprit springs, but the longer panda stem makes the keystroke end before bottoming out the spring, which causes the measured switch force to be lower. This is congruent with my drop holy panda testing with 63.5g springs since they tend to bottom out around 55g due to the longer stem
Great point!
Huey, I wish ALL switch reviews were this good.
Please don't stop doing these reviews. The combination of subjective and objective testing is invaluable. It's to the point, well organized, and devoid of useless blathering.
p.s. Remember to use code huehueyhuey when shopping with the sponsors. :)
Watch glarses channel then his reviews are so funny
"The other companies that don't do anything for us" COUGH COUGH RAZER
Been watching your channel for quite some time but damn, I didn't know that you were the person behind the Holy Panda name
Me neither, I was surprised
Why am i only seeing this channel now for keyboards.. 🙃
So underrated
You are probably the first enthusiast who's content I've watched that actually got me interested in keyboards. None of the 'this is correct' more honest description and described your preference for 'thonk' sounds. Subscribed and looking forward to your stuff.
Glorious are moving mad out here. First they made a substitude to the Finalmouse, so you didnt have to pay $150+ for a lightweight mouse. And even though they didn't create the idea of holes in a mouse, it was them who started a trend that have now led virtually every gaming company to make their own lightweight gaming mouse.
Now they are touching the keyboard enthusiast scene with switches and lube, and now their soon to come 75%, gasket mount, high profile keyboard (GMMK Pro) starting at just $170 for the barebones kit. That's practically unheard of in this hobby, and I believe they are changing the game towards more affordable but quality keyboard.
Awesome job Glorious. My wallet is thanking you!
Loved this review, keep up the great work! can't wait for the GMMK Pro + Glorious Pandas combo
WAIT....THIS IS THE MAN WHO CAME UP WITH THE NAME FOR HOLY PANDASSSS
I switched from gateron pro black to holy pandas that I lubed and filmed. The tactile feeling is so satisfying and feels great typing.
Great info and review. I bought the full size GMMK and their panda switches. i like them so much i changed all 4 of my keyboards over to panda switches.
Thanks for this video, I ordered the GMMK Pro with glorious pandas, cant wait!
So not the same as OG's or even other clones, but still a nice tactile switch in it's own right. Excellent review.
I like your style of reviewing products. You definitely earned my sub, great job!
ur probably the most knowledgeable and best reviewer of switches on youtube, i can tell from this video alone, good looks
Glorious is such a good company. They listen to community feedback and to me these feel better then the holy pandas. Awesome review!
I love theway he has to throw in that "I" named them
finally a really detailed review by huey,i might be consider glorious panda in the future
Crazy knowledgable and detailed review. Keep it up.
The Glorious Pandas come pretty close to the feel and sound of my IBM Model M despite being based on cherry. I find myself alternating between the HyperX Aqua switches and Glorious Panda. My cherry MX brown board is just sitting in storage as I no longer care for the feel of the switch (this is on a steel plated HyperX Alloy Elite) and my Razer Blackwidow Elite with the Razer orange switches is put up for sale as I no longer want to deal with Razer Synapse just to have my lighting preferences stay put. My Model M is sometimes put to use for long typing sessions but I really want to preserve it.
Didn’t know you named the holy panda, that’s really cool!
I always thought the topclack guy did?!?
@@Cactuspractice12 Wasn't he previously part of Top Clack?
@@jagex3000 haha, maybe you're right! i didnt know that until checked now. I always assumed it was the american guy currently presenting alongside Jae.
The best switch review i’ve ever seen
amazing work dude
Could you make a lubing guide for these. Im still getting a lot of "pinging" after lubing
It might be spring ping, maybe you a touch extra of lube on your springs, or switch to a thicker lube if you're using an oil or thinner lube. I do plan on making a "general use" lubing guide in the future though
it could be leaf pring tho; for high tactility springs it might happen
@@syrah5767 yep, Zeals do this a lot and its pretty hard to combat. Only way is a glob of thick lube under the leaf, which isn't very easy to do cleanly
samee, do you still have that problem now dude?
Great review. Look forward to more like this!!
I haven't heard sound tests/reviews of the original holy panda. I'd be really interested to see what you think between the three switches!
That 5min mark, music giving me old Mass Effect vibes ❤️
Liked for the review, subbed for the stating the history without trace of bitterness. That was amazing.
"Why be 'Holy' when you can be 'Glorious'?"
Fantastic review and a bit of history too. Awesome work! I'm curious what key caps you used here.
Thank you! I used GMK Cyan
Quality content! What a great video Huey.
For all the quality control issues the company has, Glorious is probably one of the only "mainstream" companies that gets it. The new 75% they're working on is standard setting and I know I'll definitely be getting one.
Is this posted on their blog, or how do you know of this unreleased keyboard?
@@XalphYT on their website...
@@XalphYT it has been posted everywhere for a few weeks already.
Sorry I read TKL not 75% I know about the 75%.
I guess the 75% will appeal to people that like midget keyboards.
As much as i wanna like the glorious panda switches i still love my holy panda switches more. Guess everyone just has their own preference.
damn both of the OG Holy Panda creators prefer the Glorious Panda over the Drop Holy Panda
i think my broke ass made the right purchase (:
All that information.. just for a switch. Nice. I love it!
Great review, I'm really eyeing these for a tactile build. I'm going with box jades to stay with my click for now, but If I ever do get around to a tactile build I definitely think I'll try these.
For the video, is it something on my end, or is the sound a bit out of sync?
Yeah I was doing stuff with transitions and accidentally unsynced the audio :P
Thank you for this video, it was very well done!
is that shure mic just for the looks or why do you have a lot of noise in the voice ? just wondering. if its the mic maybe look into re-routing your mic cable away from any electric cable that can cause that noice.
i got the etheral panda gb for my first switches, might swap em for glorious after a while but thanks for the review
I have holy pandas and decided to try the glorious out. Even after lube they were scratchy and I had maybe 5 with a ping noise I could not get rid of. Spend the extra money and get the holys.
tbh, if 50% of the og creators don't mind it too much I think we can all put it past us.
Excellent job my man!
How would the Glorious Panda compare to the Gazzew Boba U4? I was wanting to upgrade from my Outemu Browns, and the Gazzew Boba was recommended to me, but the Glorious Panda is about the same price as those (to me, at least due to the weirdness of currency exchange and delivery fees to Brazil), and I wouldn't need to cut off the plastic pins of the Glorious Panda to fit them in my Redragon 552 keyboard (I'd probably have to file a pin, though, but on the Boba I'd need to both file the pin AND cut the plastic).
Great review!
Such a damn good review vid
I'm glad you gave your subjective opinion rather than just saying it's "your preference".
Awesome review, Your bgm game is just perfect!
How do they compare to zealio v2?
The bump isn't as sharp; so between the two, it'll come down to your preference of how 'sharp', you'd like the tactile event to be. Both are decent choices
@@manofinterests Appreciate the quick comparison! Have you tried the everglide dark jades? They have holy pandas sound signature(with a longer stem pole) and a sharper tactile bump(even sharper than zealios it seems).
Hm now I am thinking of buying these and using glorious panda to make glorious yok panda :oooo yellow and red uuuu :) or yellow and blue for those sea and sun lovers
I am using some lubed and filmed tealios and love them. I grabbed some of these, but I don't want too much of a downgrade in tactility. Would swapping in some 70g springs help?
What keycaps are these? They are beautiful!
Great review! Do you know of any switches that have a even smaller bump than Gpanda? Do you know of any switches that have the same bump as Gpanda but sit at 62g?
Would u say the Glorious Pandas are in between Holy Pandas and T1 in tactility?
That would probably be a pretty good place to place the Glorious Panda in terms of tactility
Ive got the glorious switches and it almost feels like a linear as I only feel the bump on the release on the way up as opposed to when pressing down so I was a bit surprise. Its a nice smooth switch nonetheless and would recommend them
did you have any of the same issues Taeha had in his, where the leaf makes a sort of ticking sound? I'd be in on these but it seems like it's a QC issue so I sort of want to wait for v2. I haven't seen anyone except him and Theremingoat bring it up though as an issue. Well... and "matthew chen" in the comments section here.
To be honest, I've read about these issues but have not encountered them myself after lubing the switches (lubing the springs & stems). I'm not sure if it's due to a difference in lube technique/amount or possible QC issues. The batch I received seemed fine. I have more on my way and I'll definitely give an update somewhere if I come across the issue (I have 180 GPs coming in, so if it's an ongoing problem, hopefully I'll find that out).
@@manofinterests hmm okay yeah I'd assume just qc because taeha didn't have it on all of his just some of them iirc. Looking forward to if you find anything out!
Just a quick question how good are these glorious pandas for fps gaming? I have the gmmk2 on pre order with these switches just hoping I made a good decision.
what really XD drop filed for the holy panda name XD
damn hahaha
They day after too lol
I wonder how it compares to Boba U4T switches, i wanted to try them out but they only comes in packs :(
Friend gave me a couple of these to try and i seem to have the same issue with all of the issues as taeha had with some. No matter how good i lube, there seems to be a weird noise coming from the switch, sounds like the leaf(?). More lube on the springs doesnt fix it
Idk I just kinda want it because of the cool panda on the box
whats better holy pandas or glorious pandas?
banger review
Is it good as a stock switch? Im a newbie in keyboard world and too afraid to lube my switches
Question. I want to try these switches out but my current board only supports optical gateron switches. If I got a gk64 could I use these switches?
yup
Btw it’s Glorious PC Gaming Race not just PC Gaming Race
is this actually the guy who created the holy panda
may i ask what lube you used for the typing test?
3204 stem and 205g0 iirc
Is the tactility instant or with a lot of pretravel how do these compare to zealios v2
Ok so the RGB comes out the "bottom" of the switch?
What was the keycaps set you used on the beginning of the video?
Just ordered some, can’t wait to get them- I’m a little late but whatever
thx for the awesome video! do you recommend these for gaming?
Hard to answer, it just depends on your preferences. I always believe people should game on the switch they feel the most comfortable with.
For gaming, you need an easier, less pressure press, I would say go for linear switches
Personally I am a THOCC man my self
Then Glorious Pandas are the best copy of the original pandas?
It was when the review came out, but there are a lot of really good holy panda style switches nowadays that are probably better
what did he mean by "named by my self" ???
great switch = great review
what would be a good goat kit for a noob to jump right into the heat of things as a keyboard enthusiast?
Look through the different kit availabilities on KBDfans if you're looking to do your first build on a budget. Some decent options there for the price.
@@manofinterests that boop one looks quite good, think ill buy that. thanks! very helpful channel, subbed and belled
@@manofinterests I wanna ask another question. How the hell am I supposed to watch all the gbs and ics without the fear of missing out? I just wanna buy everything :/
This felt like an intro college class by a switch PhD.
"Pointless in-switch rgbs" God the fucking gate keeping in the keyboard community is fucking ridiculous.
"Unless you like Olivia on a Rama-60a (With that shitty rgb turned off) you might as well just use a Dell keyboard" - Every Reddit Post on r/mechkeys
The awesome thing about keyboards is that everyone has their own preferences and can get they keyboard that they want. Way to keep gatekeeping.
Has anyone tried using Halo stems on the Glorious Pandas?
IBM Model F buckling spring over capacitive keyboards. None of theses MX based switches will ever be as good. :P
hi just wondering if this switch is hot swappable?
Yes
Glorious or Holy?
Nah, FEKER!
Are Fekers any good?
I was checking here to "graduate" from my Outemu browns, and when I looked for "holy pandas" on Aliexpress I found those, and they are half the price of the Gazzew Bobo U4 (which was recommended to me) and the Glorious Pandas, but the fact they were described as "holy panda-like" kinda threw me off as a cheap knockoff. Of course, I had no idea "holy panda" is a style of switch, I'm still pretty new to all this stuff.
Can you film glorious pandas or is it just as difficult as with drops holy pandas?
They can be filmed, but I suspect it'll be as difficult
@@manofinterests could you confirm fot me 😘?
I've only tried with kelowna films, doesn't work however I move them around.
TX Keyboards released a new, thinner version of their films a while back specifically for the Holy Pandas (the 0.125mm ones).
What lube you use.
3204 on the springs & 3203 on the stems
so these are better than Gsus?
Compared to the most recent batch of Gsus's I've tried, IMO Yeah
$80 compared to $35. i think i will stick with $35...
Did he say prosumer? Wtf is a prosumer? Is this some made up pc bs?
aye no mames guey
It's a clone of a clone of Cherry MX. Nothing truly special nor distictive about them.
