Today well be looking at the 2015 Honda Shadow Phantom. This a quick review based on my own experience with it.
Specs are:
745 cc V-twin engin
45 Horsepower
25.8 inches for the seat hight
shaft drive
550 lb weight
This a great motorcycle for someone starting out, getting back into riding or looking to downgrade to something simple and efficient.
@rawreviews, Thanks for the quick review. One thing that I would like to mention regarding your comment about starting with a 750cc bike as a beginner:
I started with a 250cc and don't regret it for a second. The smaller the bike, the more forgiving they are when you make mistakes. I had a couple of moments like had someone tale-gating me and had to go through the ramp fast. almost lost control due to high speed. If it was a 750, I would have wiped out.
Falcon Wings, I smell what you're cooking!! I also started out with 250.. sure it was small, slow & it barely constituted "highway worthy" doing 80mph; however, as you mentioned-smaller bikes are much more forgiving & i have had my fair share of "close calls". For new rider, I have zero issues with recommending smaller bikes & as one increases road experience, then upgrade down the road. Granted, I only had the 250 for 2 months before switching to 750 (same bike reviewed); it made a huge difference on my road smarts & basic/intermediate maneuvering while riding. Also, great review-thanks for taking the time to do it.
I thought Phantom HAD to be black to be Phantom...I love the black...but yours is awesome too.
The phantom is basically just a black trim, but the tank and fenders can very. Mine are white.
Ironically, I do see a lot more white and gray phantoms than black ones. You think the black one would be the most common.
Would have been nice if you could have started it so we could hear it :(
Let's just be real that's why a lot of us are here.. :-D
He never starts it? Thanks. I'm out.
I love that sticker of the phantom, it's badass! Where'd you get it??Also, thanks for a great review of the bike. I'm a new prospect rider and definitely want a cruiser as my first bike and the Honda Shadow has gotten so much praise from all that I've seen. Looks great, sounds great, and is very reliable from what I've heard!
I bought my 86 shadow 1100 for $4985 in the spring of 86, still have it. It outperforms the modern shadows in both engine performance, comfort and looks.. at nearly half the cost
I'd say that's a perfect passenger pad...just comfortable enough that a girlfriend would put up with it, but a wife never would...Lol!
You mentioned that you wanted to upgrade from the Shadow phantom, okay what bike would/will you upgrade to?
What about someone who started on a 250 would be like a good second bike?
I have the same bike it a good starter bike for new riders. I put so far over 30, 000 on my bike and it a 2015
Knowing your mpg and using your odometer is not so bad.
Speedometer there gives it clean lines... If you feel the need to even look at it..... 😆
I have a '96 yamaha virago 535 and looking for an upgrade. Idk if this will be enough of a step up..
As a starter do you think this is better bike to start on then the new honda rebel 500?
Hell yes!!!
For a starter bike, I woudd not go lower than a 750. You will outgrow this bike within 6 month if you ride it constantly and would want a bigger bike after. My first bike was also a 2015 Phantom all black and I outgrow it in 3 months.
@@B0bbyJac0b I ended up getting a '98 Yamaha Vstar 650cc. Glad I did. 2 months in and I'm already getting pretty comfortable with it. I am glad I got a used bike (only 9800 miles for $2,100). I've already beat the crap out of the engine and transmission as I still learn how to shift and work on my throttle/shift control. I think in a few months I'll start looking at 750 or higher, although I heard that an air-cooled and carbureted 750cc would still be less powerful then a fuel injected, liquid cooled 500cc.
@@DoomFinger511 Congrats on your first new bike. Welcome to the family. Be safe!
I bought this as my first bike and am sorry I did not go with a smaller lighter bike to learn on. Dropped my dream bike 3 times in the first year making normal newbie mistakes (turning from dead stop in wrong gear, etc). Get the 500 or lower - and used - to learn/beat on and after a year you can bump up to this or another bigger bike. Buying a big bike you will "grow into" is silly for your first bike in my experience.
dual carbsor or single?
Speedo easy see why he said that it isn't I have no idea. Ive had sportster 1000 with 1200 kit wouldn't beat this. Forward controls are not for beginners at all. If your not experienced rider they can get ya in trouble
Super bike
Cool
they should of knocked another grand off of the price for the speedo being in kh/m instead of mph.
It's Canada.... the accent should have been a giveaway
If Honda would use alloy wheels with tubeless tires it will be close to perfect. Just sayin'.
Also comes in blooocckkk🤣
Hey , blooocckkk is damn good colour 😂
