That's true. If we are going by his monologue to her when she was trying to save Max from Vecna, she knew he lied when he said his life started the day they met. If for no other reason that one alone she knew was definitely a lie. At the beginning of the second episode of season 1, after she is in his basement bathroom with the door cracked, Mike tells Dustin and Lucas that he will only let her stay the night and in the morning she can go back to wherever she came from and then they can focus on finding Will. But it wasn't until she told him that bad men were after her and she knew something about Will that he decided to let her stay.
i honestly dont think el needs a relationship right now. shes completely clueless. ofc they r cute, but again, shes not ready. i also think mike is starting to lose a lot of interest in her. like a LOT. and when he jumped off the cliff in season 1, he most likely thought will might be dead, so he wanted to be with him. that cliff is also the place they found will fake dead body. he stood up to the bullies when they made homophobic jokes about will as well. I can add a whole lot more. But this is good for now.
I agree mostly but I don't think mike jumping off the cliff had anything to do with will. It was about saving dustin, it was to show how brave mike is and that he would do anything for his friends.
I like to tell that it’s only been 6 months not a year in the beginning El say how much days past (I don’t remember-) and if you rounded that up to mouths, it’s 6 months. Will and mike misses each so much that they thought a year went by when it didn’t.

I genuinely feel bad for all the characters Mike sees liking Will more than friends as childish and is trying to "grow up", the stereotypical "its just a phase" but he still couldn't help but feeling drawn back to his connection with Will since that connection is not something common to him. Eleven isn't happy in her relationship. Mike is the first person to treat her normally and take care of her, showing her genuine care so she naturally got attached and that attachment was never considered a healthy thing in the show with how Will saw that the party was falling apart and Hopper threatening Mike to stay away from El. I feel like El needs to find herself more than anything, her value beyond just her powers and I feel like she needs Max the most Will feels hopeless, he loves Mike but he also loves his sister and won't ever do something to come in the way of her and Mike. But at the same time, being in the 80s and being gay wasn't considered socially acceptable with how people often called them slurs, Will felt trapped and that he won't ever find love. Seeing any future relationship with Mike as forbidden They all have some major baggage they need to let off their chest none of them are happy
he also biked ACROSS TOWN, in the RAIN, to chase after will and apologize to him. he also apologized immediately when he got to wills house, whereas it took lucas to push mike to apologize to el.. like okay. plus in season 4 with mikes monologue, it took a ton of convincing from will to apologize to el and will literally nudged him and told mike 'hes the heart' to say that monologue to her. also, wanna point out in the song 'heros' says, "and the guns shot above our heads, and we kissed as though nothing could FALL' im thinking the guns referred to s4 when mike and will were at wills house in cali where guns were literally shooting above their heads - and the as though nothing could fall, could be referring to 'hawkins will fall' so this could be when mike and will MIGHT kiss, as though nothing could fall. I disagree with the interpretation of the cliff scene. I don't think that this was about Will and Mike wanting to die at all, but rather it should show what kind of person Mike is. It shows that he cares so deeply about his friends that he is willing to give his life for them, regardless of whether he loves them romantically or platonically. That fact can also be used to explain why he cares so much about El, she's his friend and he loves her, but I don't think he loves her romantically (anymore) by season 4. Why else would he have so much trouble saying 'I love you' to her. He doesn't want to hurt her, but he also doesn't want to lie to her by saying words that he doesn't mean. And when he does say them it is literally to save her life, so he probably thinks it's okay to lie in this situation.
Mike literally went from pushing the biggest bully over because of homophobic bullying, to being homophobic right to wills face in season three, I dont know how they will carry out season 5, none of us do. But the fact is that Mike went from going insane when Will was missing, to being at Wills side the whole of season 2, and suddenly in season 3 Mike abandons Will for El, he is even cruel to him, why does Mike having a girlfriend destroy his friendship with Will, my interpretation is that Mike has internalized homophobia, if this isnt true, then that would just mean they changed Mikes character for no reason, it would just be bad writing. Season 4 really solidifies this theoryfor me, because Mike does start being nice to Will, once they are away from El again.

If Will were a girl nobody would doubt that the series is trying to frame a love triangle. After I watched the last season I had no doubt that there was a love triangle. I watched several love triangles when I was a teenager, they were a thing on the early 2000’s and 2010’s. A lot of films or series from those years had love triangles xD. Maybe that is the reason some of us notice it more than others, the love triangle thing is not that common now. Also this love triangle is highly inusual because: 1. Happens between a very stablished couple and a suggested one (this is probably due to a lot of the plot of this series not being planned since the beginning, the writers have stated this several times, probably they suggested it in case it could be a resource they could use later, and if the series was not that successful it would end with Mileven). 2. Is a bisexual triangle. Usually triangles are not between people of the opposite sex and having in the center a bisexual person. It is very confusing for a lot of people since most people prefer one sex over the other, and that for heterosexual people sometimes endearing friendships can look similar to pre romantic scenes.

Ok, this may be a stretch but.. When mike says in the van "She's special. She was born special. Maybe I was one of the first people to realize that." could that be Mike talking about himself but using El to mask it (like how Will does in the same scene)? Omg I was wondering why no one talks about how strange and illogical Mike’s monologues actually are…When he said that line: “I knew she was special, maybe I was the first person to realize that”…um no you didn’t? When El demonstrated her powers for the first time, it was in front of all 3 boys in Mike’s room, before that Mike probably thought she was just weird but scared and needed help, that’s why he didn’t leave her alone and kept her by his side, we shouldn’t forget that he is in fact a literal sweetheart and always tries to help everyone, that’s how he really is by nature and how Will sees him as well - “a heart”. My point is, maybe Mike was actually talking about Will in the van. He was definitely mentally struggling with himself during all the duration of their rescue mission. He was being quite open and vulnerable with Will in that scene, downplaying himself and saying that he doesn’t consider himself to be anything special, so he doesn’t deserve to rightfully have smth great, just because, without any reason. Mike actually feels very insecure and feels like he must be someone else, behave a certain way, portray smth he’s not to actually be loved. And that’s why he was having doubts anyone would even want him and he was projecting those feelings towards Will. Subconsciously he wanted Will to be in love with him too. Before the painting reveal, Mike 100% thought Will was straight and probably crushing on some girl. So Mike was actually scared Will was growing up, becoming independent, getting interested in other things and actually leaving Mike behind for good since it had already happened once Byers moved away, Mike probably thought Will didn’t reach out cause he was making the new life in California, making friends and having a blast. When they were younger, I bet Will was quite dependent on Mike and it made Mike feel secure in a way, feeling needed by someone, then El came into the picture and that’s why he felt like he lost Will (Hopper’s letter, Mike confirming it himself), so he was actually scared he might lose Will for good, that’s why Mike reacted a certain way when Will finished his sentence about how he was scared to lose El, cause it’s actually Will he was scared to lose. And when he said “El is special and all that”, I also believe he was describing Will, cause Will is indeed special, not like everyone else and Mike for sure was the first one to notice, that’s why he took the initiative and befriended Will (Will’s uniqueness and him being special was addressed in the show a handful of times). When he said: “what if after all of this she doesn’t need me anymore” and he was staring intensely at Will when he said that…why though? And also why would Mike doubt El wanting him after everything when she was literally obsessing over him the whole time they were together and she was clearly searching for his love and needing him, so why would Mike be having doubts about it? Two options - either he’s just dumb or he was indeed worrying about Will not needing him anymore, not El. And maybe just maybe, the thing he said about meeting El being a damn luck, what if he also feels that way about meeting Will. He mentioned that he knew nobody and Will was alone too and that’s how they clicked and for a long time Will always needed Mike and they were always sticking together and then they started growing up, all the messy stuff with the supernatural and Mike’s predicament with El all resulted in Mike/Will duo breaking point. Who knows maybe Mike is that naive romantic who truly believed meeting Will was fate and then his rose-colored glasses breaking when he and Will lost that connection, cause Mike probably couldn’t in his wildest dreams fathom that he might lose Will and what they had, also probably why he was being so rigid about his true feelings towards Will, on one hand he doesn’t want things to change, on the other, he fully understands he wouldn’t be able to keep on going the same route simply because his feelings are too overwhelming for him to handle which leads to this whole fiasco and him being a self-pitying disaster of a young closeted guy the whole season. So I am like 90% certain it’s not just Will using El as a cover up, but it’s what both of them were doing every time they had private chit chats..feeling bad for El honestly, cause when you break it all down to little details, those 2 idiots just used poor El to talk about their real feelings regarding each other 😭 ps: sorry for a long-ass reply 😅

I think I just cracked the code of how Mike views Eleven. You said that because of Eleven, Mike didn't face the consequences of when a guy pushed him, as well as jumping of the cliff. Not only does he view Eleven as his hero but, as someone who he doesn't have to face the consequences. If he just dated her because she is a girl and not a boy, he would not face the consequences of society and their stigma towards gays at the time. So, literally a beard.

LOVE this vid. my one disagreement is that i don’t think the rumors about will’s sexuality had much to do with mike. considering the time period and the traits that joyce highlights in that scene where she’s talking about lonnie calling will slurs, it’s heavily implied that the speculation was due to his sensitivity, interests (like art), and clothing. however, the way mikes father talks about mike could be related to his closeness with will for sure.

Honestly, I think I watched stranger things when I was somewhere 12-11 (I binged it in like two days lmao) and when Mike and el got seriously together, or you could say their first kiss, I felt like it was so out of pocket. Maybe it’s just my obsession with sci-fi focused things or something, but it never really hooked with me. We know that Will is gay but I am like 100% certain that Mike is as well, not exactly bisexual but a full-on gay hidden deep in the closet…he is just hella conservative in a way, I guess because of his parents, the community around and just himself being the odd one out enough to the point that he just desperately wants to be “normal”. It’s just throughout the show there are like dozens of signs pointing out Mike’s real sexuality and him being so scared of himself first. Even with dialogues throughout the show. I remember that pizza place scene in season 4 where Mike was disgusted with the pineapple pizza at first and being certain he would absolutely hate it but then tried it and actually liked it. Then there is a scene in season 3 where the party was in the supermarket and ell was trying to find Dustin and Lucas was drinking that remake of cola or smth like that and again Mike was disgusted because he couldn’t stand the substitutes, the remakes, basically he couldn’t even fathom the idea of smth that was not origin being truly good and worth trying and if you watch that dialogue Lucas literally mocked Mike saying that he would rather stick to the classics instead of branching out and trying smth new..I mean come ooonnn what’s the point of putting such a emphasis on Mike being so hidebound and the only one resisting change so aggressively meanwhile others are kinda fine with that. Mike is the most queer coded out of all the characters in the show and even if it wasn’t obvious with the nature of Mike’s feelings towards Will in the first 3 seasons then in season 4 they made it like super obvious that Mike perceives Will as more than a friend or at least he distinguishes Will from others. It’s just the matter of Mike’s character development now and whether we get byler as an endgame or not depends on Mike’s personal breakthrough and whether he would be able to break down all his walls, be truthful with himself and accept himself for who and what he is…if he is able to do that then getting byler is 100% guaranteed but it’s up to the creators of the show of course…however I don’t think that they’ve been building up Mike’s character like that for nothing…I bet they will give both Will and Mike their well-deserved happy endings. Idk if I’m noticing things that don’t matter, but in a certain scene on s3 episode 5, the group is going into Tom’s house (Nancy and Jonathan’s former boss) to get more information about the mind flayer. Before Eleven unlocks the door, each of them are lined up a certain way. First, Nancy is next to Jonathan (couple), and Eleven is by herself, then Max and Lucas (couple), followed by Mike and Will. It may be just a huge coincidence (Eleven is by herself since she’s not on good terms with Mike or Mike is just trying to stay closer to Will since their argument), but it’s a bit too coincidental. Another thing is that some people say that Mike does actually love Eleven, he just doesn’t know how to say\show it since a lack of love between his parents (I think that’s what some people have said, if I’m wrong please correct me). But if you notice, his mom actually tries to show love multiple times, like her talking to Mike about him not needing to hide anything from her (s1), her hugging Mike after the police found “will” (s1), her hugging Mike after Will and Eleven moved (s3). Those may be small signs, but she is definitely trying to show love. DISCLAIMER!!! This is my opinion and what I thought. I don’t think much people are gonna see this, but if you do, please don’t argue or get mad.

The Wheeler family seems to do things because they think they’re supposed to. Like people made implications that Mike’s feelings for El were romantic and he rolled with it. Flo implied that Jonathan got into a fight because he was in love with Nancy, but she was wrong. Jonathan didn’t throw a punch until Steve insulted his family. Murray egged that on in season 2, then in season 4, everyone started pushing Nancy back to Steve. Nancy should decide for herself if she likes someone. But yes, Mike could be in a romantic relationship with El because he thinks he supposed to be. Mike may have been wishing he’d said more to Will when he’s looking back at Will’s house at the end of season 3.

I didn't caught all of these when a I watched the show. For me it was just implied that Will loves Mike, but I never saw Mike reciprocate these feelings one day. But after watching these video, I would love for Byler to be endgame. One, because I never really loved Mike and Eleven relationship past season 2. And two, because Will deserves to be happy, my boyy. However, I would be very surprised if it happens. I feel like the writing really dropped after season 2, especially with characters arcs and developement. Like Hopper doing a 180 at the begining of season 3. And for me Mike and Eleven couple really suffered from those bad writing moments. If Mike and Eleven were written as well as Jonathan and Nancy or Lucas and Max, we wouldn't question their love. Maybe you're right and everything was planned, Mileven will break up and Mike will eventually tell Will he loves him. But I don't know, I think we won't be getting any of these so I don't set my hopes to high. Besides that, loved the video and the edits, I crackled a few times. I'm curious what moments you define as 'bad writing,' specifically for the relationship of El and Mike. Thing is the duffer brothers are good at writing romance with the ships you mentioned above, so it's hard to believe they drop the ball so hard with Just El and Mike. And their not the only relationship dissolving. Nancy and Jonathan are falling apart as the stress of college is getting in the way. Also Max and Lucas as Max is struggling to deal with her trauma and grief. But you can see these two come back together as Max starts opening up to Lucas. Which is why I'm more inclined to believe that their bad couple moments were on purpose as opposed to bad writing. I honestly don't think El/Mike will be end game even if Will/Mike doesn't happen. The only time I think they butchered a relationship was Joyce/Hopper in season 3. But I also just didn't like Hopper in general for that season. their bickering didn't feel the cute kind that you saw between Robin and Steve (yes I'm aware robins gay, but they were doing the bickering troupe right, were Joyce and hoper felt like a couple on the verge of divorce) But I guess we'll get our answers once season 5 comes out which should be no later than October 2025 (hopefully)

Grown ass people do judge kids depending on their attitudes. They have their idea of how things should be and are not accepting of other realities. Literally some still think pink is just for girls and blue for boys like wtf theyre colors sir. That's true. If we are going by his monologue to her when she was trying to save Max from Vecna, she knew he lied when he said his life started the day they met. If for no other reason that one alone she knew was definitely a lie. At the beginning of the second episode of season 1, after she is in his basement bathroom with the door cracked, Mike tells Dustin and Lucas that he will only let her stay the night and in the morning she can go back to wherever she came from and then they can focus on finding Will. But it wasn't until she told him that bad men were after her and she knew something about Will that he decided to let her stay.
i honestly dont think el needs a relationship right now. shes completely clueless. ofc they r cute, but again, shes not ready. i also think mike is starting to lose a lot of interest in her. like a LOT. and when he jumped off the cliff in season 1, he most likely thought will might be dead, so he wanted to be with him. that cliff is also the place they found will fake dead body. he stood up to the bullies when they made homophobic jokes about will as well. Mike is the first person to treat her normally and take care of her, showing her genuine care so she naturally got attached and that attachment was never considered a healthy thing in the show with how Will saw that the party was falling apart and Hopper threatening Mike to stay away from El. I feel like El needs to find herself more than anything, her value beyond just her powers and I feel like she needs Max the most
Will feels hopeless, he loves Mike but he also loves his sister and won't ever do something to come in the way of her and Mike. I disagree with the interpretation of the cliff scene. I don't think that this was about Will and Mike wanting to die at all, but rather it should show what kind of person Mike is. It shows that he cares so deeply about his friends that he is willing to give his life for them, regardless of whether he loves them romantically or platonically.
That fact can also be used to explain why he cares so much about El, she's his friend and he loves her, but I don't think he loves her romantically (anymore) by season 4. Why else would he have so much trouble saying 'I love you' to her. He doesn't want to hurt her, but he also doesn't want to lie to her by saying words that he doesn't mean. And when he does say them it is literally to save her life, so he probably thinks it's okay to lie in this situation.
Mike literally went from pushing the biggest bully over because of homophobic bullying, to being homophobic right to wills face in season three, I dont know how they will carry out season 5, none of us do. But the fact is that Mike went from going insane when Will was missing, to being at Wills side the whole of season 2, and suddenly in season 3 Mike abandons Will for El, he is even cruel to him, why does Mike having a girlfriend destroy his friendship with Will, my interpretation is that Mike has internalized homophobia, if this isnt true, then that would just mean they changed Mikes character for no reason, it would just be bad writing. Season 4 really solidifies this theoryfor me, because Mike does start being nice to Will, once they are away from El again.

If Will were a girl nobody would doubt that the series is trying to frame a love triangle. After I watched the last season I had no doubt that there was a love triangle. I watched several love triangles when I was a teenager, they were a thing on the early 2000’s and 2010’s. A lot of films or series from those years had love triangles xD. Maybe that is the reason some of us notice it more than others, the love triangle thing is not that common now.
Also this love triangle is highly inusual because:
1. Happens between a very stablished couple and a suggested one (this is probably due to a lot of the plot of this series not being planned since the beginning, the writers have stated this several times, probably they suggested it in case it could be a resource they could use later, and if the series was not that successful it would end with Mileven).
2. Is a bisexual triangle. Usually triangles are not between people of the opposite sex and having in the center a bisexual person. It is very confusing for a lot of people since most people prefer one sex over the other, and that for heterosexual people sometimes endearing friendships can look similar to pre romantic scenes.

Maybe I was one of the first people to realize that." could that be Mike talking about himself but using El to mask it (like how Will does in the same scene)? Omg I was wondering why no one talks about how strange and illogical Mike’s monologues actually are…When he said that line: “I knew she was special, maybe I was the first person to realize that”…um no you didn’t? When El demonstrated her powers for the first time, it was in front of all 3 boys in Mike’s room, before that Mike probably thought she was just weird but scared and needed help, that’s why he didn’t leave her alone and kept her by his side, we shouldn’t forget that he is in fact a literal sweetheart and always tries to help everyone, that’s how he really is by nature and how Will sees him as well - “a heart”. My point is, maybe Mike was actually talking about Will in the van. He was definitely mentally struggling with himself during all the duration of their rescue mission. He was being quite open and vulnerable with Will in that scene, downplaying himself and saying that he doesn’t consider himself to be anything special, so he doesn’t deserve to rightfully have smth great, just because, without any reason. Mike actually feels very insecure and feels like he must be someone else, behave a certain way, portray smth he’s not to actually be loved. And that’s why he was having doubts anyone would even want him and he was projecting those feelings towards Will. Subconsciously he wanted Will to be in love with him too. Before the painting reveal, Mike 100% thought Will was straight and probably crushing on some girl. So Mike was actually scared Will was growing up, becoming independent, getting interested in other things and actually leaving Mike behind for good since it had already happened once Byers moved away, Mike probably thought Will didn’t reach out cause he was making the new life in California, making friends and having a blast. When they were younger, I bet Will was quite dependent on Mike and it made Mike feel secure in a way, feeling needed by someone, then El came into the picture and that’s why he felt like he lost Will (Hopper’s letter, Mike confirming it himself), so he was actually scared he might lose Will for good, that’s why Mike reacted a certain way when Will finished his sentence about how he was scared to lose El, cause it’s actually Will he was scared to lose. And when he said “El is special and all that”, I also believe he was describing Will, cause Will is indeed special, not like everyone else and Mike for sure was the first one to notice, that’s why he took the initiative and befriended Will (Will’s uniqueness and him being special was addressed in the show a handful of times). When he said: “what if after all of this she doesn’t need me anymore” and he was staring intensely at Will when he said that…why though? And also why would Mike doubt El wanting him after everything when she was literally obsessing over him the whole time they were together and she was clearly searching for his love and needing him, so why would Mike be having doubts about it? Two options - either he’s just dumb or he was indeed worrying about Will not needing him anymore, not El. And maybe just maybe, the thing he said about meeting El being a damn luck, what if he also feels that way about meeting Will. He mentioned that he knew nobody and Will was alone too and that’s how they clicked and for a long time Will always needed Mike and they were always sticking together and then they started growing up, all the messy stuff with the supernatural and Mike’s predicament with El all resulted in Mike/Will duo breaking point. Who knows maybe Mike is that naive romantic who truly believed meeting Will was fate and then his rose-colored glasses breaking when he and Will lost that connection, cause Mike probably couldn’t in his wildest dreams fathom that he might lose Will and what they had, also probably why he was being so rigid about his true feelings towards Will, on one hand he doesn’t want things to change, on the other, he fully understands he wouldn’t be able to keep on going the same route simply because his feelings are too overwhelming for him to handle which leads to this whole fiasco and him being a self-pitying disaster of a young closeted guy the whole season. Honestly, I think I watched stranger things when I was somewhere 12-11 (I binged it in like two days lmao) and when Mike and el got seriously together, or you could say their first kiss, I felt like it was so out of pocket. We know that Will is gay but I am like 100% certain that Mike is as well, not exactly bisexual but a full-on gay hidden deep in the closet…he is just hella conservative in a way, I guess because of his parents, the community around and just himself being the odd one out enough to the point that he just desperately wants to be “normal”. It’s just throughout the show there are like dozens of signs pointing out Mike’s real sexuality and him being so scared of himself first. Even with dialogues throughout the show. I remember that pizza place scene in season 4 where Mike was disgusted with the pineapple pizza at first and being certain he would absolutely hate it but then tried it and actually liked it. Then there is a scene in season 3 where the party was in the supermarket and ell was trying to find Dustin and Lucas was drinking that remake of cola or smth like that and again Mike was disgusted because he couldn’t stand the substitutes, the remakes, basically he couldn’t even fathom the idea of smth that was not origin being truly good and worth trying and if you watch that dialogue Lucas literally mocked Mike saying that he would rather stick to the classics instead of branching out and trying smth new..I mean come ooonnn what’s the point of putting such a emphasis on Mike being so hidebound and the only one resisting change so aggressively meanwhile others are kinda fine with that. Mike is the most queer coded out of all the characters in the show and even if it wasn’t obvious with the nature of Mike’s feelings towards Will in the first 3 seasons then in season 4 they made it like super obvious that Mike perceives Will as more than a friend or at least he distinguishes Will from others. It’s just the matter of Mike’s character development now and whether we get byler as an endgame or not depends on Mike’s personal breakthrough and whether he would be able to break down all his walls, be truthful with himself and accept himself for who and what he is…if he is able to do that then getting byler is 100% guaranteed but it’s up to the creators of the show of course…however I don’t think that they’ve been building up Mike’s character like that for nothing…I bet they will give both Will and Mike their well-deserved happy endings. Idk if I’m noticing things that don’t matter, but in a certain scene on s3 episode 5, the group is going into Tom’s house (Nancy and Jonathan’s former boss) to get more information about the mind flayer. Before Eleven unlocks the door, each of them are lined up a certain way. First, Nancy is next to Jonathan (couple), and Eleven is by herself, then Max and Lucas (couple), followed by Mike and Will. It may be just a huge coincidence (Eleven is by herself since she’s not on good terms with Mike or Mike is just trying to stay closer to Will since their argument), but it’s a bit too coincidental. Another thing is that some people say that Mike does actually love Eleven, he just doesn’t know how to say\show it since a lack of love between his parents (I think that’s what some people have said, if I’m wrong please correct me). But if you notice, his mom actually tries to show love multiple times, like her talking to Mike about him not needing to hide anything from her (s1), her hugging Mike after the police found “will” (s1), her hugging Mike after Will and Eleven moved (s3). Those may be small signs, but she is definitely trying to show love. DISCLAIMER!!! This is my opinion and what I thought. I didn't caught all of these when a I watched the show. For me it was just implied that Will loves Mike, but I never saw Mike reciprocate these feelings one day. But after watching these video, I would love for Byler to be endgame. One, because I never really loved Mike and Eleven relationship past season 2. And two, because Will deserves to be happy, my boyy.
However, I would be very surprised if it happens. I feel like the writing really dropped after season 2, especially with characters arcs and developement. Like Hopper doing a 180 at the begining of season 3. And for me Mike and Eleven couple really suffered from those bad writing moments. If Mike and Eleven were written as well as Jonathan and Nancy or Lucas and Max, we wouldn't question their love.
Maybe you're right and everything was planned, Mileven will break up and Mike will eventually tell Will he loves him. But I don't know, I think we won't be getting any of these so I don't set my hopes to high.
Besides that, loved the video and the edits, I crackled a few times.

I'm curious what moments you define as 'bad writing,' specifically for the relationship of El and Mike.
Thing is the duffer brothers are good at writing romance with the ships you mentioned above, so it's hard to believe they drop the ball so hard with Just El and Mike.
And their not the only relationship dissolving.
Nancy and Jonathan are falling apart as the stress of college is getting in the way.
Also Max and Lucas as Max is struggling to deal with her trauma and grief. But you can see these two come back together as Max starts opening up to Lucas.
Which is why I'm more inclined to believe that their bad couple moments were on purpose as opposed to bad writing.
I honestly don't think El/Mike will be end game even if Will/Mike doesn't happen.
The only time I think they butchered a relationship was Joyce/Hopper in season 3. But I also just didn't like Hopper in general for that season.
their bickering didn't feel the cute kind that you saw between Robin and Steve (yes I'm aware robins gay, but they were doing the bickering troupe right, were Joyce and hoper felt like a couple on the verge of divorce)
But I guess we'll get our answers once season 5 comes out which should be no later than October 2025 (hopefully)
I never realized that the Max and El conversation happened in the same episode as the Will and Mike fight and comparing of how Mike went after will but never went after El

Grown ass people do judge kids depending on their attitudes. They have their idea of how things should be and are not accepting of other realities.
Literally some still think pink is just for girls and blue for boys like wtf theyre colors sir. But yeah, some people just don't mind their own business and make children grow up insecure and closeted and other kids bully the different and it just sucks. Thats why I think it would be really important for the queer community to have byler canon and living their gay happy lives together (or bi mike maybe but honest he's prob just gay) it's very rare to see kids who are queer in tv, teenagers is common but not kids, and it could help kids watching thw show to feel representated. Its very common to be queer and fall for ur friend
