- Abandoned Super Kmart Uniontown, PA. Closed in the 2016. This store was set up similar to the Warren, OH Super K. The old K Cafe is still open but as a mom and pop style diner. It gave me a chance to peek inside the empty Kmart. Enjoy!

What a cool video! So awesome that they are using the old KCafe for something nice! Also super cool that you got a peek inside the old store!! Great stuff... keep 'em coming!
I’m so happy to see you got a glimpse inside this epic building through the cafe, Wallie! It amazes me how much character it exemplifies. I’m totally wowed! Many thanks for filming and sharing this beautiful store with us, and for all you’ve done and continue to do!
Awesome! I thought that was cool that the K cafe was turned into a diner. Cool part about the mom and pop diners, best and tasty food, awesome atmosphere and people, and always reasonable prices with the best bang for your buck. 😀
Love this video, I have always liked Uniontown, and if I was to live anywhere, it would be there, I think it is such a beautiful town!
Really enjoyed. Great to see that the restaurant is still alive...
Dude I live in Masontown and I always loved that Kmart and I hate that they closed it
Wow! I used to work at the Super K-Mart in the K-Cafe and Deli in the 90's and our store looked like that... it is a super massive store! There are three stores in it with more room to spare! Sadly, nothing is in the K-Cafe location. My store was in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. I worked there for 8 years! I wish I had pictures of it...
Good filming on at store location, carry on filming I enjoy watching it Wallie.
Hi Wallie. Enjoy your work keep it up.
..another great vid from an awesome youtuber!
I use to work loss prevention there, caught a lot of shoplifters there.
Sage Perkins everything from food to electronics
It’s cool that you showed the inside from the diner.
Hilariously Funny Wallie with the San Quentin Garden Center Comments...Soooooo True! HeeHee😀😀😀😀😀❤️
Thanks for making these, people like me who didn't have a chance to see it appreciate this.
Keep up the great work on the videos.
Thanks folr doing this. Glad at least the KCafe got repurposed as a fun diner. Maybe they could divide the Kmart into a Home Goods/Marshalls if they are not there already.
Another thing I agree with you are: in my words Lowes Rules, Home Depot drools.
Videos by you and Ace and Nate are an awesome way to wind down my day of Cat sitting and have more entertainment than most of the reality tv crap on tv! Keep them coming and stay awesome bud
Wallie! You’re videos are great!
Matt VanFossen Thanks, Matt! I'm so glad you enjoy them! Hope you're having a blast in NC. ❤
the reflection on the glass just means someone knows how to clean the hell outta glass...lol great video
Love your content!!!
Your videos are awesome keep rocking the good videos
Do me a favor go back to Uniontown go to the Uniontown shopping center which is on Morgantown Road there is that's is the birthplace of the Big Mac when the McDonald's used to be on the far right side by the hill and when you look at them all you see the farm supply store that was the original Uniontown Kmart
Chris Hoff. I remember that
My mom worked at Kmart but then it shut down... my mom was crying but she got a new job!
COOL VIDEO...AS ALWAYS...WALLIE!!! LOT OF DAMN TRAFFIC!!! ...HAPPY BDAY!!!!..LATER!!!
Thank you so much!!!
UR..WELCOME!!!!!! UR 29...AND HOLDING!!!!!
Amazing video as always Wallie. Love the content you produce. Glad to the see the K Cafe got repurposed into a diner and glad you we’re able to get shots of the store itself. Maybe in the future ask if they can open the gate for you and if they’ll let you film the rest of the store as it would be interesting to see what it looks like now. Are there any rumors for whats gonna take the place of the old Kmart Store? Love your content
I loved that kmart! good job wallie
i remember that store...I think there is some sort of a furniture store at one end now towards lowes great videos your doing keep 'em coming
Never had a super k out here on long island just big k sucks half of the kmarts near me shut down thanks fast money Eddie
Hi wallie I remember shopping their with my mom and grand mother I loved that store
cool video ! happy belated b-day :)
Perfect two businesses to divide up that store would be Hudson's department store / Highland store that would be a great flashback.
I live in Uniontown, and when I was younger the restaurant was, I believe, run by Kmart, and was called Family Islander Restaurant
I bought Islander-branded swim trunks from Kmart #3819.
Was there originally a JAMESWAY in Uniontown where Home Depot is today?
It's to bad the restaurant could use the old Kmart sign. But I bet it would cost well over 5000 dollars to convert that sign.
Your Hilariously Funny Wallie with the San QuentinGarden Center HeeHee😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀❤️
I lived around 45 minutes away from the nearest Super Kmart to me and it closed in 2018 or 2019. I used to love to go there as a kid!
love this video
I used to work there I work Garden Center cashier and then overnight cashier I always remember registered number 12 it's a shame it's closed because for Fayette County that was the grocery store to go to it was even more busier than Walmart
Happy birthday😀😀😀we share the birthday, mine too today. 🤗
Andra R. Nice! Thank you and happy birthday!!!! 😄😄😄
Thats how my local Kmart looked and it had a Little Caesar's inside
I used to shop at this one. It was indeed very large. I remember when the grocery section was still open. The prices were more expensive than other grocery stores. So I mostly only bought general merchandise.
That one is bigger than the one in Warren because the in Warren don't have the auto shop
It's crazy to see how absolutely massive these big box stores were. With Amazon gobbling up the market, I have to wonder if retailers will be consolidating into smaller spaces.
VenerableEvil Don't know but Means big money for Demolition Crews tearing down so many Commercial buildings that went to rubble.
If you guys are interested in a truly huge former super K, road trip to Charlotte NC, the super K on independence Blvd was actually modeled after the American fare concept in the late 80s. It was our regional super K office until they closed it in 1997. It stayed empty forever.
Cool :) HBD :)
Happy Birthday 🎉 mine is on the 29th #TeamAries♈️
Caitlyn Lauer thank you! Happy early birthday!!!
Mines September 17 2009 yup I’m a kid
Sad to see this store gone i took my kids back to school shopping every year here 😢
I worked with as iron worker and built this. Sad to see a building go to waste...
R.I.P Kmart...
JOSE 74 Means big money for Demolition Crews with So many retail stores shuddering So many people are going to eat tonight and so many people are going to lose jobs.
I worked here back when it was before it went to KFresh, the diner has since moved but is still open... spirit of Halloween was in there a couple years ago, but there’s a timeless traditions in there now I haven’t been in there since but I’d love to go in there now and see it again and sorta relive the old Kmart days..... the Walmart used to be right across the road shop and save was in the same plaza they moved about 13 years ago
I am amazed the cafe is still in use.
Wallie can you do an update video at this Kmart and see if the diner is still their and if that entry way they can open for you so you can film inside the abandoned Kmart
My grandma used to work there. She told me a couple years before jt shut down that it was going to. They also didn't treat there employees to kindly, although that might have just been that story. Sad that it went a very years ago but they added a big lots and I'm sure other things will come. There is a lot of traffic that comes through there especially with the other stores and the plaza.
Theirs a Kmart in Cabot Arkansas that’s going out the last one in Arkansas!! Right of the free way
This is neat
Do you think it’s larger than the one in Warren?
I like it during the holidays
Almost looks like a Winn Dixie here in the South.
That's a cool kmart store they a restaurant that's good and awesome👍🙏😀
Wallie Your friend nick was wrong when it closed. August 2016. If you want too go in my group on facebook from uniontown or close by, Theres photos on the last day when it closed. I only live 5 mints away from this Kmart.
Why is everyone driving past the building? Is that a legit road to Lowe's or people using it as a shortcut?
Both
Apparently one of the last super k’s that were in the Denver area that were converted to a Kmart closed last year. When I saw the front of that Kmart I realized it had to of been a super k according to the research I did I found that it was converted to a regular Kmart in 2011
Happy Birthday
dusica dee thank you so much!!!
I don’t know if Meijer will go out to Pennsylvania but it’s nice they have a dinner in that former location I know Meijer moved in to the old Super Kmarts in Michigan Ohio and Illinois because they’re in Wisconsin
William Greeter giant eagle will block any new stores from moving in there Territory.
There's a Meijer moving in to where an old Super K used to be where I'm at.
We're getting a Lidl across the hill from where this Kmart is.
At Fresno, The Super Kmart turned into a walmart
Abandon Ruby Tuesday in Uniontown Pennsylvania you should check it out
Awesome job. I think it's weird that the owner allowed the cafe to use just that space with access still to the main store. One would think if you wanted to rent the cafe space it would have to go with the whole store.
Our local Super K closed in early 2002. It sat vacant for around 8 years and was converted into a huge Academy Sports and Burlington. The building was completely gutted and is unrecognizable now. It looked very much like this Super K. 1994-2002 were the only years the store was open.
It was I know what Kmart the person is talking about I have to look it up,
The ones she's talking about is the one in humble Texas I found it here
www.deadanddyingretail.com/2011/11/closed-super-kmart-stores-in-texas.html
Did you pay a visit to Uniontown Mall while there?
Doomie Grunt I sure did. However I didn't film it. It was really busy and the only dead part was the Sears wing of the mall. The rest had almost every store filled.
@@WallieB26 Not now, its becoming a ghost town mall
We had a super kmart where i live that closed late last year... its huge just like this one ... sitting empty now .
Tifani Letcher Means money for Demolition Crews.
It does look a bit bigger than Warren.
Hey bud there's a abandoned GameStop we're they just left everything in St. John's mi
How come there are so many Big Kmarts but less normal kmarts?
It looks so sad to see it's empty
Seeing those chairs in the store makes me laugh because a few years ago I wrote a story about a made up ECW type wrestling company and they would do shows in odd places, one of them being an abandoned Kmart. So obviously that was the first thing I thought of- oh they were setting up for a show 😂
Austropop ELITE hahahaha reminds me of the old ECW Arena. That looked like an old abandoned warehouse. LOL that's awesome. Haha
It would be sick if they did that in here. I'd go to that show!
WallieB26 I would go to that show too! It honestly would be a good sized venue for a local promotion's show.
I remember them doing wrestling inside one of the abandoned storefronts at Century 3 Mall back in 2016.
Old super Kmarts had 2 entrances, one for grocery and the other for general merchandise and gardening.
I remember seeing the now former (at least not public anymore) SHC Realty website list the Uniontown store as 173,000* square foot and the Niles store as 187,000* square foot. *the 000's are actually in either the tens or the hundreds but I only memorized the first three digits in the size.
Super K's in Tinley Park, Moon Township, and Chillicothe(operating) were also listed as being very close in approximate size to Uniontown.
I miss super kmart center
I remember when this store opened. My mom has a job interview when it first opened
Was there a JAMESWAY here before Kmart?
Super kmarts are awesome
LittleBoi4Trump The last super Kmart is closing. RIP super Kmarts
Ryan Edwards That's my local Kmart too that's closing
Welcome to k cafe and chair outlet union town pa
Just to the left of it on the hill there is an abandoned walmart as well
This was inside super k
It's now a Burlington and big lots.
I brought some shelves and some mannequins and my grand mother brought some store fixtures to for ever in my heart
Lampert victim #31 uniontown,pa
Just a head up, Tops had just recently filed for bankruptcy and I believe are closing many locations. Be on the lookout!
Munchkine26 I used to go there a lot. It sucks that they might close
+Mason Fryling My Father works there but I'm pretty sure his location is staying open. However, he has said things about his retirement money being cut in half or something like that.
They have several around Erie, which you know, I go to all the time. I'll keep my eyes peeled for Erie and even Buffalo, NY locations closing for future videos!
Where I grew up there was a market called the Grand Union, then Tops bought them out... so it's kinda like the Ames and Hills situation, bought out to just go out
There were so many rumors on what that was going to be turned into, Costco, Sams Club, Movie Theater, etc... I believe a furniture store was in there, not sure now.
Big Lots
are you able to explore outside of PA
Jack81 Yes. Just need to make a game plan when I go out and enough time to make such plans.
There's an abandoned kmart super center with kmart express gas station on madison ave in indianapolis indiana if you cant go out there i will film it if youd like to see
Mark c’s diner is now permanently closed
They are finally closing down our K Mart by next month it will be a thing of the past I will miss it very much there is one thing though I bought these Everlast knee pants and I could only get half my ass in and now I can't take them back oh well il just have to lose some weight lol.
Hah! That's my store. I was the lpm there till the last day.
The Blogger Nice. I bet you have some great stories from this location. Too bad you don't have a key so we can go inside and I can take photos and film it. Wishful thinking anyway. Lol
Probably wouldn't have been to hard. But from what i understand sears doesn't own the building anymore. If you figure out how to get in id be more then happy to do a walk through.
I see it was your birthday yesterday (?) Well I hope that you had a Happy Birthday :)
Andy Tichenor it was! Thank you so much!!
You're welcome my friend. Thanks for the awesome videos that you bring us!
Hey!
That kmart is the same size as the one in my hometown
I heard there going to turn it in to a Costco foods
Hey I just found this go on the Facebook and type in Uniontown Super Kmart and you'll see a whole bunch of pictures from the store
Soon to be a processing center for FEMA.
I was there on the final day it closed
look at my city uniontown pa
This is my hometown Kmart and when it opened, the store was always crowded. Sadly we all know how Fast Eddie destroyed Kmart and Sears. The stores became run down and nothing was invested in bringing either the facilities or technology up to date. Kmart never had advertised merchandise, sale prices didn't ring up correctly and the check out process was painfully slow with the outdated cash registers. Very sad what happened to iconic American retailers.
You might have noticed that there is absolutely NO PLANNING in Uniontown. Stores and restaurants are scattered everywhere, and shopping involves driving from place to place. (A laughable example is placing a dialysis clinic right next door to Walmart! ) No logic, rhyme or reason--just stores, restaurants, doctors offices, awkward traffic flow). Very inconvenient because running errands requires multiple stops. No larger strip centers where shoppers can accomplish several tasks. Stand alone stores that require a car to get from one to the other. The bus terminal is inconveniently placed by itself and you always see people walking along the roads between the various shopping clusters because there are no sidewalks. Stupidly this was all new construction, but nothing was thought out. Just stick places wherever.
You have to stop at the Uniontown Mall. You immediately feel you have been transported back to the 1980s because they place hasn't been remodeled or updated since then. The former Hess's department store is now a call center. There is no food court. One of the parcels adjacent to the mall is a Goodwill store. The Sears store left about two years ago. The Bon Ton has THREE storefronts in the mall--the main store (men's and women clothing, shoes, cosmetics), the Kids store and the Home Store. When they leave, the mall is finished although the management claims they are working on attracting new businesses. Many empty storefronts at the mall, and on rainy days they put buckets through the corridors to catch water from the leaking roof. The JCPenney has been doing some remodeling, and they recently opened a Sephora section. I look for JCP to seal off the mall entrance and operate as a free standing store, since they own their own land and building.

I think the Kmart, Uniontown Mall, and the newer stuff like Hobby Lobby, etc, are in North Union township, not Uniontown.
Mark C’s Diner moved to a location off Rt. 51.
Plz come back kmart find a way to kick walmarts ass
I live in uniontown pa
