While doing blood test under microscope
Requirements: 70% alcohol
Microscope, lancet, cotton wool, coverslide, coverslip
Procedure. You can perform both thick blood smear and thin blood smear in the same slide. Note for the thick smear fixing isn't, reason our interest is the wbc and plasma so hemolysis is required
1. Using 70% alcohol rub the index finger of the less dominant hand.
2.using a lancet prick the upper part (do not collect the first drop as it may have come into contact with the 70% alcohol used for sterilization?)
3.place a small drop on the glass slide. To make a thin smear spread
