    When the malaria rapid test is positive and the Parasitemia level is zero what is the reason ? Is it because the parasite still in liver and didn’t go to blood or not ?

    Sir, why Schizonts and tropozoites of P. Falciparum...not seen in smear examination???

    • @MedicalMicrobiologyGuide
      @MedicalMicrobiologyGuide  4 года назад +2

      Trophozoites will be seen. But not schizonts because they tend to be sticky and get sequestered in small blood vessels.

    A 44 years old woman returned home from hiking to the northern area , Two weeks after her return, she developed paroxysmal fever and was quickly admitted to hospital with febrile convulsions. jaundice, and anemia. Blood smear revealed RBCs infected with ring-like trophozoites. Which stage of the parasitic life cycle is responsible for the appearance of the parasite
    1. Erythricytic schizonts
    2. Merozoites
    Plz solve this

      It do happen. But if hypnozoits are targetted with appropriate drugs they can be cleared. Please approach a good physician.
