A 44 years old woman returned home from hiking to the northern area , Two weeks after her return, she developed paroxysmal fever and was quickly admitted to hospital with febrile convulsions. jaundice, and anemia. Blood smear revealed RBCs infected with ring-like trophozoites. Which stage of the parasitic life cycle is responsible for the appearance of the parasite 1. Erythricytic schizonts 2. Merozoites Plz solve this
Sir good morning Sir I suffer malaria vivex 6 year sir i take many time take antimalarials drugs and primaquin 30 mg 14 days but malaria vivex repeat many time dr sir say malaria vivex hypnozoit stage not clear so relapse malaria vivex pathology detect many time vivex positive many time negetive but antimalarials.drugs take relief but some time repeat

Sir, why Schizonts and tropozoites of P. Falciparum...not seen in smear examination???
Trophozoites will be seen. But not schizonts because they tend to be sticky and get sequestered in small blood vessels.

It do happen. But if hypnozoits are targetted with appropriate drugs they can be cleared. Please approach a good physician.
