I like your thinking with the cruiser. We run a fleet of single cabs and double cabs in my workplace. I love them for their simplicity but hate them for their agricultural drive. They are over priced for what they are but they are tough but not like they used to be when they ran the 6 cylinder engine. We had a 200 series landcruiser to tow our 22 van for several years. It towed it very well but it was always on it limits. We have recently changed out to a 2500 series American truck. What a difference, it's the next level up in comfort, power and economy. I look at all the Toyota builds with chopped and extended chassis and gvm upgrades etcand the chev looks very good buying in comparison. Yes the American truck is big but you can still take it places (we got out to south lefroy without any pinstripes). Love your setup but extra payload and room of a American truck takes your travel to the next level.

Thanks, mate. Appreciate you sharing your experience and perspective. The American trucks are definitely appealing when it comes to full-time towing. It would've really pushed our budget though to get it to this level.

Awesome build, very impressive, love it. You highlight how the 3M PPF wrap repels water and dirt very effectively. 3M have been in the headlines re their PFAS (aka forever chemicals) and related products causing high cancer rates and countless cases of environmental PFAS contaminating in AU and overseas, they have poor transparency record on this. PFAS is/was used in water repelling products, so wondering if they use PFAS in their PPF products, IDK, but would be worth finding out, my brief googling on it didn't find anything. Would be great if 3M confirmed PFAS or related chemicals are not in PPF products, so we could be sure use of PPF is not causing more PFAS contaminating and exposure to car occupants.
All the best to you, thank you for sharing your wonderful adventures and insights.

Steve, You need to get on NPS go for good drive. They are not good for touring. Hats off to people riding it while they doing the lap. It drives like dogsh*t and cant take alot of places due to size. It’s nightmare going into City. Driving 70 series which isnt great comfort car but 1000% better ride than NPS. Just think you could have spent 30k less and got a 300 series which is better in every single way, from comfort, to power, economy, ability to tow, technology, offroad performance and reliability.
And the last point is interesting because the jmax kits are pretty notorious for damaging diff bearings as the housings aren’t always perfectly true due to heat penetration. Then of course you have the whole wheel stud saga

Appreciate your perspective and opinion, but I think we'd have to agree to disagree. I just don't see a 300 that way. Completely different vehicle with different compromises. You could offer me one +$50k my way and I wouldn't even consider it. No doubt the 300 is more economical and comfortable with a lot more teach (which I see as a negative) but I'd love to see one go head-to-head with our 76 off road and beat it.

    • @SUPERTRUCKER166

@@TheLifestylePioneers there is no compromises with the 300 vs a 76, especially for what you do (which btw is nothing challenging you could go everywhere you have been in a bog stock straight from the sales floor dual cab or wagon in any brand) but the biggest thing you get with a 300 that you can never get with a 70 no matter how much money you throw at it is internal space and comfort.
There is a reason why the 200 and now the 300 were by far the most popular touring vehicle out there. And why they sell almost no 76’s at all.

@@SUPERTRUCKER166 Yep, one of the reasons is supply.
      Oh and the auto transmission.
Is the 300 a better passenger car. (Space, comfort, economy, tech)? No argument. Is it a better touring vehicle? Well if you like tech and heated leather seats maybe. If you want solid axles, a manual transmission and tech isn't a positive probably not.
Better is subjective. YOU think the 300 is better, so does wade apparently. Sadly, that does not make it a universal truth. Just your opinion.
