Excellent video. My inlet valves were sucking so much air, it began to stall my Polaris. I replaced these seals and no more air leaks. The filter gained 4 psi, and my Polaris is running like a champ. Thanks again.
Just an observation, but when you removed the plate, I noticed that the inlet was at 6 o'clock and not at 9 o'clock to the pump. When you replaced the plate, you changed the orientation of the inlet to the pump at 9 o'clock as you described in the video. Regardless, i was able to replace the "O" rings and the pump is no longer sucking air, so thank you!
Great video. I love the comments on employees who don't follow the procedure. The attention to detail is excellent because a lot of people don't know how to use screws drivers screw guns lube oil all that stuff it's all brand new for them.
But it goes far beyond not knowing how to do something like using a screw gun. They literally don't care. I made videos for them showing them the exact procedure and they would still screw it up all the time. 1 out of 10 employees were good with an actual brain between their ears and they would only stay for a year until they knew enough to start their own business
Excellent video. As a retired semiconductor equipment maintenance technician, I know I can pull off rebuilds like this. PMs are PMs and are important to maintaining any mechanical system. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with those of us that that are capable of taking on a task and saving some money. My three Jandy valves are weathered and grey and stiff to operate. I decided to buy one full rebuild kit ($25 for the handle, lock nut and faceplate w/ O-rings) and then two other o-ring kits. I have three J-valves in my system.
Great video... thanks. It showed me how to diagnose and fix the issue. Darn, I wish my neurosurgeon would have put out a video... I could have done my own laminectomy! Such vast knowledge and experience.... I feel sorry for lazy homeowners who pay these guys 300 bucks for 3 minutes of work!
I see you don’t answer comments. But I have a valve that is over 20 years old. It is in a real bad place and tight piping to replace it. Do you think I could do a repair? I had two pros that never looked at it say to replace the valve. It is a three way valve that either bypasses or goes to a rooftop solar heater. When I shut the pump I get bad vibration noises from the valve??
It's so true. you can spot the good ones right away but they will only be with you for a year or two because they will and should be doing it on their own
Your comments where insulting. I'm a home owner and do all the work on my pool. I'm also disabled. We home owners are not incapable of doing this. I think the money you charge for this is outrageous.
Yes I am absolutely saying charge for your experience and expertise and I will not be shy about it. If you try to do that repair yourself you will have to research it for 45 minutes (as evidenced by you being here watching this video), it'll take you another 10-20 minutes to order the correct parts not to mention you bugging the parts supply shop with questions on how to do it properly, It will then take you another 30- 45 minutes to complete the repair and you'll still probably screw it up. I can do it in 5 minutes with my eyes closed and the parts are already on my truck. I absolutely have NO problem for charging for my experience and knowledge. People like you think that pool guys are just stupid and replaceable and not real professional contractors. People like you piss me off and I would have cancelled your service 5 years ago.
Got to say, people need to make money and charge base on their experience. There is a video providing how to make the repair, so if you want to do it yourself you can. He is being more than fair. The charge quoted for this repair was $75 service charge plus $20 for the o-rings. That seems reasonable, but if I want to save money then I can. It's not a rip off, if you charge to much, there are others that are willing to do it for less.
@inyourpoolbusiness I've been in the pool business for 20 years, and I usually run from people like this guy. There are enough people out there who understand that skilled labor isn't cheap, and cheap labor isn't skilled.
I'd charge $165, and I'm just a homeowner doing my own repair. Great video..thanks
You saved me hundreds with this video. Thank You!

I love your dog, it’s so cute

My pool man only charged me parts fees $9 NO labor fees , he is so kind.
You are so lucky!
the BEST video EVER! Thank you!
How do you know the o ring was causing the leak and not the valve itself?
How do u fix a leak at the PvC joints where the PVC cement has failed?? Thanks!!!

Good stuff
getting ready to go from ball valves to a 3 way diverter valve what one should i get so that i can get rebuild parts for in the future thanks.
you should call a professional if you dont know the answer to that question sir
What do you use for a pvc joint repair?
you have to replumb a new fitting on there. It can be a pretty big job depending on which one is leaking
I’ve used clear pvc cement
Clear pvc cement sounds like a good idea.
get a go-pro camera so you can use both hands :)
40 yes in the business, they're just LAZY

what does being disabled have to do with anything??? If you're capable of doing all the work yourself then what are your doing here?
Sounds like you just look for things to be offended about. Very sad.
What comments were insulting?! I thought the video was great. Exactly what I was looking for.
You make customers sound like moronic lazy asses.
Basically saying to rip people off. I hate pool guys like this.

@@inyourpoolbusiness You're comparing yourself to a plumber? Good lord. If you're so confident in your business and skills - post your business.
@@frwjbeb25 You literally just proved my point. You think pool guys are beneath you and apparently beneath plumbers too
